So happy to see the cabins have found a fantastic home!! Thank you so much for taking these orphans, it is such a happy feeling to know they will see years of use!!❤
Great work as always. At about 1:55 I noticed your backdrop has a dirt road that goes off into the distance. It’s something I look for because they’re hard to do well. If you painted that yourself, bravo my friend. Some try and don’t pull it off as well.
Thanks! Yes painted myself. It’s included in my last backdrop painting video in the members area of the channel. Still s bunch of work to go to get it blended onto the soon to come scenery of course! Cheers. -grant
Those houses actually remind me of the cabins that were near the road to Allison near Sentinel. Of course my house in Sentinel was a double wide trailer near the creek. You want to talk about a nice view of trains every night, hooo man I miss that view.
@Southern Alberta Rail There used to be an awesome abandoned building there. If you google the Easy Kootenay Power Plant you can see it. To us kids it was a spooky giant abandoned castle. Lots of adventures in there. Shame it's gone, it was cool to look at.
Dear Grant, great vid, love the way your backdrops transition into the 3D scenery. Very cool how you’ve achieved the hazed look over the flatlands. Beautiful layout. Looking forward to your next episodes and believe me, I will backtrack your older vids!!! Cheerio
Many thanks! I have a multi part video series covering backdrop techniques in the members section of my channel. Hope you enjoy the other videos as well. Cheers. -grant
It sure is. Spent several decades trucking through it. I'm assuming you're referring to the chapter titles? I don't have any control over those, TH-cam thinks it knows best! Cheers. -grant
I use BLMA trucks Vincent. You could use any metal wheels with a .537 or .540 axle length to replace the plastic. Have a look at Tangent wheels. They are really nice.
Great update Grant, you make it all look so easy - I only wish my scenery looked half as good as yours! Do you have a helix on the layout or is it a long run to get from lower level to upper (and vice versa)? Thanks again for the update. - Steve
Thanks Steve. Not really a helix in the traditional sense... It's a long climb between levels with track the popping through the back drop on the last bit of lower level , hiding for 30 feet and popping back out on a transition level which then becomes the upper level. I think a video may be in order to explain how it works. Cheers. -grant
Excellent video. Your layout is very inspiring , thanks for sharing
Thank you very much!

That's cool! I would love to live in an A frame right at the end of Crowsnest Lake where the river begins and watch the trains roll by.

Crowsnest is one word.. as in Crowsnest Pass ;-)
It sure is. Spent several decades trucking through it. I'm assuming you're referring to the chapter titles? I don't have any control over those, TH-cam thinks it knows best! Cheers. -grant
Great as usual and really like the buildings. Where did you get the Jordan spreader?
Thank you! The spreader is an Overland brass model I found on eBay several years back.
Are the log homes laser cut? Another great vid.
Thanks! Yes laser cut by Serge.
👍
Thanks!
😊
Thanks Randy! Cheers- grant
Thank you for sharing. Looks great. I want to replace the plastic wheels on 25 of my MT cars with metal. What did use for your cars?
I use BLMA trucks Vincent. You could use any metal wheels with a .537 or .540 axle length to replace the plastic. Have a look at Tangent wheels. They are really nice.
Looks great as always. What track do you use?
Thanks! I’m using Atlas code 55.

@@SouthernAlbertaRail Sounds good Grant, I look forward to it. I'll never do another helix - too many issues. - Steve
