    Dude, I’m so fucking glad you’re still making these videos and the In Search of Darkness docs. I’m certain the first time I saw your face was in the first one. I’m so excited to see the new one. I feel like I have no fun horror fiend friends to talk to anymore. These videos and those type of docs really feel like they connect me back to a humanity I am missing out on in my “older age”. So glad that cool, fun dudes like you still exist for me to vicariously connect with through things like this and ISOD. You rule, dude. Please keep this up forever in some form.

    I vaguely recall seeing clips of this movie from a documentary, specifically the scene where the one guy is dragged into the lake and the ghost being hit by the car, in my youth. I could not remember what the movie those scenes were from even as they remained in my mind all these years. Then as I was watching this episode those scenes popped up and it all came back. So thank you, Cecil, for helping me solve this mystery from my past. And that documentary, called Hollywood Ghost Stories, can be found on TH-cam.

    Agoraphobia... They could start an entire decade of horror and suspense movies centered around this phobia. Especially with the COVID pandemic, an entire generation will have such fear engrained into their psyche. There's already been a couple of horror movies like it in the past couple years but it's a topic that could be capitalized on; especially now.

    • @idunbeezasmart1
      @idunbeezasmart1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      That's not a bad idea, but it does have one major hurdle. There's far too many people who actually think the coof is something more than a bad flu so they'd have trouble getting people to go and watch it.

    • @MandleRoss
      @MandleRoss 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Copycat with Sigourney Weaver centers around the main character's Agoraphobia.

    • @erikbjelke4411
      @erikbjelke4411 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Seems to be the major flaw in this film (I read some Amazon Prime reviews a week or so back before seeing this episode today). The main issue with any "haunted house" type film is once you get the characters in, how do you get them to STAY in, instead of pulling a Larry Fishburne and saying "We're leaving" as soon as things start to go wrong? Well, here, you could have had a great psychological horror war between the irrational fear of the Big Bad Outside World and the very rational fear of being murdered by ghosts (in such a film where ghosts exist and are capable of murder). Like an arachnophobe being told they have to stick their hand in a hole filled with spiders or get shot in the head. Even if you know for a fact all the spiders in there are completely harmless to humans, overcoming that powerful irrational fear isn't easy.

    I love Gloria Grahame’s acting. She was gorgeous. Hard to believe she was so insecure about her looks.
    What’s weird is she married her former stepson and had other personal demons.
    She had a hanger-on, the much-younger Peter Turner, who wrote a book FILM STAR DON’T DIE IN LIVERPOOL about their relationship. I haven’t read it some time, but he struck me as kinda gross.
    Glad you made this video. I’m overdo for a rewatch!

    11:32 - Armour Stiner House is a very impressive historic structure. Millions were spent carefully restoring it. It's easy to see from the road, and occasional (expensive) public tours
    are offered. Irvington itself is a charming little town easily accessible by taking Metro North's Hudson line from Grand Central.

Really unsure how it ended up on the Nasties list because it's pretty tame. The doctor's death that Cecil shows in the video was the most graphic scene.
