"Why do movies with high schools always have to show someone being late for class?"
I'd guess it's because you can film a cheap establishing shot, using a location on its off day, with no need for extras. 😁

They can establish the school with a minimum of extras if the lead is always late. It also informs the audience that our hero is a maverick scoff-law cool guy. Also, This guy has the coooooolest room.

The thought of a monster in the toilet had never occurred to my child-brain.
And then a cassette cover informed it that that was a possibility and I was afraid of toilets for a few years. I'd throw a piece of toilet paper or two in as a peace offering before using the toilet.
My adult brain laughs at the logic: oh yes, two pieces of toilet paper will surely satiate a butt-eating beast.

Finding out your high school teacher is a serial killer could be incredibly terrifying if they did it right. Apt Pupil and the Babysitter both did that kind of plotline really well, but it would have required a full retreat from the trashy origin, and it seems like they tried to have both the trashiness and the serious tone at once.

You make all these films almost watchable. I believe it has something to do with you noticing simple things that are easy to miss. Like LEAVING THE FREAKING LENS CAP ON! Was the watermelon frozen? 17 victims and they get caught by a Scooby gang reject, yeah ok. Chuck Conners would have been a much better choice.

Was rushed, miscasted and no nudity or graphic violence. Felt like an after school special.

Poor Elliott Gould. He could at least have had scenes with Tweed for being in this.

His career was on a downslope in the 80s and a bit in the 90s (even had a bit part in a soft-core erotic thriller called "Cover Me"). He got back up when he played Ross and Monica's dad on "Friends".

AD: Ok everyone, back to your marks.
    Director: No, it's good.
AD: Um... ok. We'll fix it in ADR.
    Director: No, it's good.
AD: Jack Palance is in? Awesome!
Producer: Nope. He's delayed a week.
AD: No problem, we can shoot scenes that he's not in.
    Producer: Nope.
    AD: What the... Why??
    Producer: Because.

I should have bought more of them back in the day. Now they are super expensive. I only have the Water Hawk and a shotgun one from another company.

These two other actors would make for much more intimdating teacher-killer... but I guess this guy is more appropriate for the goofy tone of this movie.
