I disagree with that statement from the show, as they forgave FF for not knowing what she was doing was evil. Weather’s morals are not ideal either. I think they’re just as bad as Pucci’s in some cases

Pucci is my favorite villain by a long shot. It’s interesting to note that a key reason why he couldn’t split Weather and Perla up himself is because it would put his path to priesthood in jeopardy to reveal what was told to him during a confessional that he was not yet qualified to conduct.
At that point in his character arc he pursued priesthood because he questioned what order there was in the universe and why fate would allow him to live while his twin brother passed away at birth. So the confessional changed everything for him, he was caught between the event that led him to priesthood being completely recontextualized and protecting his own siblings’ innocence. In his darkest moment, he hung onto Dio’s words. There must be a reason people meet, and a reason Pucci lived while his sister died. He could still fulfill a purpose. At this point, God was no longer Pucci’s path to heaven, it was Dio.
And one more thing to note if whoever is reading this doesn’t mind me digging into this character a bit more, is the way Pucci kept Weather alive. Removing both a memory and stand disc can potentially kill somebody, but Pucci had to do something to stop Weather’s rage. Crucially, he chose to remove his memories, not his stand. This is interesting because without his stand, Weather would still pursue Pucci, but without his memory he is still immensely powerful. However, the snail ability is deactivated, because Weather no longer has the subconscious hatred towards humanity that triggered it. But Pucci did this instead of executing him because he wanted to bring Weather into his heaven, so he kept his disc close to his chest - literally. Which is how Donatello was able to locate it, and return it to Weather, eventually leading to Pucci’s demise by Weather’s stand. It’s touching, he only killed Weather when it became completely necessary, and kept him alive with the threat of his stand because he still cared. But by remaining human unlike other villains who rejected humanity, and having compassion for Weather, he doomed himself. As Emporio said, Pucci never truly overcame fate, because he could not escape his brother’s gravity. By the end he was the worst kind of evil there is in Weather’s words, an evil that doesn’t realize it is evil.
I just wanted to go into more detail about that side of Pucci’s backstory, because it remains relevant up until the final blow is dealt by Weather Report. This character just has so much you can break down, the complex motivations behind his actions and the long term consequences for them throughout the story. He really is a brilliant villain.

I LOVE it, I thought he was full of shit when he said "I didn't kill you because I wanted to save you" but that's a really good point that actually confirms his words as honest. If he removed his Stand instead of his memories, Weather would've killed himself, but Pucci chose the more dangerous path, letting his brother keep his Stand because he wanted him to see Heaven too.

Something I love about Pucci is that his control over fate makes him a proper final boss for the original universe.
We’ve seen enemies in the past like Diavolo, Kira, and the Oingo Boingo brothers who use fate, but usually in a way where it can’t be changed no matter what they do. And they always make a big deal on how the end result will happen no matter what. So Pucci being the first villain to have control over fate is really telling on how dangerous he is.

@@rokocvjetanovic That's a very strong opinion you have. Pucci isn't forced writing and dose not have plot armor. Everything his character dose is out of planned calculation and patience. That's why Araki wrote him the way he is, and why he's so dangerous to the Joestars. He is one of the few characters in JoJo who knows and understands fate, that's why he is so obsessed with it. I'm sure if you give me any scenario in which you claim there was plot armor or forced writing, I can debunk it. (BTW people are allowed to like things you don't)

    • @rokocvjetanovic
      @rokocvjetanovic 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

@@SpongeCakeJ you are an example of a immature fan who don't understand anything. The proof for that is that you are literally saying that Pucci didn't have plot armor and that the writing was bad and forced, lol. I can talk for days about how terrible it was, but I don’t want to waste time. I wasted it many times with people like you, so I will just say a little about plot armor moments, it is almost every scene with Pucci tho..
First of all, it must be said that Araki clearly made Jotaro the most nerfed character ever, and gave Pucci the biggest plot armor ever, that was necessary for that terrible plot to happen. Some of those moments were...
Pucci stealing Jotaro's disc (Star Platinum should have been able to easily react to Whitesnake. Araki probably ignored the fact that Stands protect their users even if they are not aware. For example when Star Platinum caught the bullet and when it reacted to aqua necklace). Nerfing Jotaro even more than in P4 and removing him from the story a lot was done in a very forced way so that plot can happen.
The whole fight with Weather. Having prep time and make the battle unfair is not always necessarily plot armor, but the ending of that fight definitely is. Weather was fighting an unfair battle and was doing good even in those conditions, and just when he was about to kill Pucci that nonsense happened.
His head didn't break after Star Platinum'punch (he was almost uninjured too), this is both, Pucci's plot armor and Jotaro's nerf. After that Pucci was on the floor and no one attacked him, they were just looking at him. Jotaro could pierce through him or something even without time stop.
Getting a flying gun just when he needed in the fight against Jolyne.
He dodged a point-blank spear that was thrown by Star Platinum. Even with the fact that he saw the spear, a normal human like him can't react and dodge something that fast, especially not from that distance.
He then somehow managed to get MiH, the others were transported to another location and he was left alone to freely accelerate. After he accelerated enough (he had that prep time to accelerate, only because of that Jotaro needed Anasui, without prep time Pucci can't beat time stop users in a fair fight).
At the end, Jotaro could save Jolyne and kill Pucci in a few different ways, if it wasn't for his nerf and Pucci's plot armor.
He could just attack MiH since it was closer to him than Pucci. He could use star finger, it was easily in range. He could throw bullets/knives (they would even get accelerated and Pucci wouldn't know about them, even Jolyne managed to do this). He could move through air (the gravity is different in time stop). He could just grab Pucci like he did with Kakyoin at the beginning of P3, something like that, the point is that Pucci was in that range and he could use Star Platinum to grab and pull Pucci.
In reality, because of terrible writing, Araki made him do nothing, he was also wasting time by pulling Stone Free's hand from Anasui's chest, lol.
In any case, almost every scene with Pucci was full of his plot armor and just bad written, so forced. The plot (Heaven plan) makes no sense no matter how you look at it, side villains were terrible, most of characters were wasted, so many other things without logic... As I said, I can talk for days about how terrible JoJo P6 was, it is not just Araki's worst work, but one of the worst written mangas ever. At least we got a good Part later, but the sacrifice was too big. Araki made one big mistake with that whole Part and lost inspiration.
This is the truth that people like you (the worst type of JoJo fans) will never understand, not to mention accept. I too love JoJo a lot lot and respect Araki in almost every way, but I won't be ignorant and immature if he makes something bad.

It's also important to note that Fate turned on Pucci at his death as Emporio was only able to beat Pucci after seeing his own future in the "Heaven" Pucci had created, a future in which he killed Pucci. It displays an irony that Pucci, although having controlled fate, gave up his power to show every human their own fate, ending in his own death.

When he was chasing Emporio down, he remarked that the destined future was Emporio’s escape and then his own loss.
Emporio was fated to escape Pucci and it didn’t matter how but it was going to happen.
Pucci tried to change his fate by killing Emporio there and then.

I don’t think Puccis goal "benefited everyone" per se and is actually quite evil, it’s definitely perspective. A lot of people would have no will to live if they knew their actions were fated and could not be changed. In a way it takes away the experience and point of living. But for Pucci, this is Heaven. Pucci's ideology is similar to the old saying "live like it was your last day on Earth". If you already know your fate, then there's no point in being afraid. You can enjoy your life to the fullest without having to worry about the future.
A pity that Pucci was corrupted by DIO, who clearly had not so good intentions in his plan to achieve heaven. Pucci wanted Heaven for all without having interest in power, while DIO wanted to create a heaven where all would serve him.

I love that so much. Pucci's own means of doing what he did is like the polar opposite of Kefka from FF6 - arguably probably even more evil, ultimately - rather than Kefka's desire for everything that ever was to completely vanish away.
DIO wanted people to know of the inevitability that he would take over their lives - maybe forcibly to have them submit. Pucci is the ultimate bringer of that "fate worse than death."
Thank you so much for this video.

  • @JacklyCraft

What makes him so good for me is how he never follows his ideology to the bitter end
He wins when Made in Heaven is born, with his speed he can outrun and avoid any attack, so the only thing he need to do is keep himself alive until the reset
Foward that point everybody else's fate is sealed, the main cast would be fated to lose and Pucci fated to achieve heaven again
Yet, instead of accepting Fate he goes on a rampage. Did he think the Joestars didn't deserve Heaven? But who is he to judge who can or not achieve it? Many people would oppose Heaven if given chance to, so is he just killing them out of spite?
Or does he fear that they can overcome Fate? If yes then he doesn't believe on it as much as he sounds, and his struggle to accept Fate is what gives Emporio the chance to strike bacl

A great video, but the one lacking point present both here and in part 6 in my eyes the ending.
Pucci was my favorite part of JoJo by far and i thought the overarching story of p6 was amazing. The themes of family, fate and willpower from before all culminating here, but for the villain rather than the protagonists. In a show where power comes from the manifestation of someone's will, having the villain have the strongest will of all characters present seemed like an amazing mix up. That he was able to defeat everyone else and succeed in his goal because of his passion and pure force of will makes sense given the rest of the show.

I see where you’re coming from but I disagree. Pucci definitely had the strongest will for his goals and desires, but he was ultimately evil. He was an incarnation of plot armor and forced writing, he can't do anything without it. The plot made no sense and in the last arc Araki just wanted to forcefully end the verse. Fans who support p6 are so immature, blinded by love for Araki.. I can talk for days about how terrible it was.

“He was an incarnation of plot armor.” So like, literally every Joestar that came before? That’s the whole point, the Joestars have always been fated to win, the introduction of Pucci asks what would happen if the villain was on the side of fate instead of trying to fight it. I understand where you’re coming from, despite you not explaining any of your reasoning, but I have to say you’re kind of missing the point. And it’s a little absurd to call the people who enjoy this part immature, because frankly, that in itself is the most immature way to criticize a work of fiction.

@@EditUnivers75 the writing was never as bad and it is okay when "plot armor" saves someone once, but Pucci is something completely different, almost every scene with him was terrible and full of forced writing. I will write some of those moments..
First of all, it must be said that Araki clearly made Jotaro the most nerfed character ever, and gave Pucci the biggest plot armor ever, that was necessary for that terrible plot to happen. The whole part had terrible forced writing, and the ending was no different, it was unnecessary, forced and without logic. Araki just didn't know what to do. And now as I said, here are some Pucci's plot armor moments..
And yeah, people who support it are either immature or just ignorant and won't criticise Araki no matter what.
This is the truth that people like you (the worst type of JoJo fans) will never understand, not to mention accept. I too love JoJo a lot lot and respect Araki in almost every way, but I won't be ignorant and immature if he makes something bad.

@@rokocvjetanovic I was going to go through and refute your points, since I’ve seen every one of them before, you’re not unique and I’m sure you’ve even seen the answers to all of these as well. Araki is not a god, he is only human and I acknowledge that Jojo is flawed in certain ways. But honestly, I’ve seen enough of posts like these, pointlessly inflammatory and blatantly missing/misinterpreting crucial information. I appreciate you taking the time to write this up, but fuck you for saying that I’m the worst kind of Jojo fan after my respectful reply. I will end this with a quote from Pucci, my reasoning for ending this discussion now and not wasting more of my time: “Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.”

This is so wrong. Pucci is one of the worst characters ever and stone ocean is one of the worst written mangas ever. He was carried by his plot armor and forced writing of stone ocean. He can't do anything without that. I can talk for days about how terrible the writing of him and P6 in general was. No offense, but fans who love him and P6 in general are either blinded by love for Araki and won't criticise him no matter what, or just immature..
