    The idea that a soul is like a proto-Stand could give more context to why attempting to forcibly awaken a Stand can be fatal, in Holly's case for example her soul was literally being forced out of her body in the form of a Stand

      That actually makes perfect sense. It also explains Koichi’s unique case where he only had partial resolve due to his immaturity and why he didn’t heal by himself like most arrow victims and needed Josuke. His Stand evolved along with his resolve as he matured over the course of the part.

    Since a type of limbo exists in the series, would it be possible for Diavolo to enter into that same limbo after his death in Part 5? I’ve been thinking that after he fell into the river and possibly drowned while bleeding out, his death loop must’ve happened at a metaphysical level and that it’s his soul that’s being “reduced to zero.” A sign that says that the death loop isn’t happening in the real world is that when he was stabbed he did not have access to King Crimson. Like with Yoshikage Kira, stand abilities are either taken away or simply rendered redundant by greater spiritual entities.

    • @lukewalkerr2d2
      @lukewalkerr2d2 ปีที่แล้ว +30

      This is a very interesting idea, I've been thinking about what happened to Diavolo ever since the anime aired. If Giorno went down into the sewers to look for Diavolo, would he find his stabbed body? Or did Diavolos body literally dissappear after being stabbed? Or possibly your idea, and Diavolo did bleed out and drown in the river, and what Trish was feeling was Diavolos soul still remaining in the world somewhere. I'd be curious to hear what Araki would say about this topic.

    • @Umberman
      @Umberman ปีที่แล้ว +18

      Diavolo, in my opinion, had his body killed when GER punched him, but as an extension of GE's "being punched by GE makes time extend for a really long time", he'd entered into a cycle of constantly being *in the process* of dying, but never truly being able to actually die, a mix of GER's ability of deleting cause and effect as well as its original ability, basically throwing Diavolo into his own personal nightmare realm for all eternity, subjected to being almost killed time and time again, and then being reset to the moment GER punched him, about to die, and then looping over and over again.
      The main point of contention is if what's occuring to Diavolo is something that actually is legitimately happening, or GER is making him perceive these things as happening or if he's being inserted into the point of view of people that are dying or have died in similar ways

    I'm not sure why, but I was always under the impression that Mista's encounter with Rolling Stones was the reason Bucciaratti remained "alive"; i.e. he changed Bucciaratti's fate through the interaction with that Stand, meaning that Bucciaratti was not fated to die the first time King Crimson fatally wounded him, and thus was able to keep living despite Giorno being unable to fully bring him back to life. I suppose I stand corrected, though.

    • @carloscauan7967

    • @slimabob
      @slimabob ปีที่แล้ว +13

      I always understood this to be the case as well. The first form of the stone was his fated death against Diavolo, but Mista changing it altered the nature of his death, allowing him to cling on just a bit longer- as well as condemning some of his team to death in the process. But yeah I guess not.

    • @chlorophyll1767
      @chlorophyll1767 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @@carloscauan7967 Yeah, I got that much - but it seemed to me that there was some kind of exchange performed. Bucciaratti's life was extended, in exchange for the deaths of the other two. They're sleeping slaves to Fate, they really have no say over whether they live or die. Hence my read of it was that Diavolo uses King Crimson to cheat Fate and kill Bucciaratti, but Fate decrees that Bucciaratti must survive for longer due to that exchange of lives, and so he does. It always struck me as somewhat up to interpretation, at least.

    • @ernestoirrazabal6594
      @ernestoirrazabal6594 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My interpretation of that arc was similar, as I understood it, Rolling Stone gives you a more "Meaningful Death", it finds people who are going to die worthless deaths, and adds a positive outcome to their fated demise.
      Bucciarati was always going to die against Diavolo, and in that arc, it was Fugo who was going to meet Giorno, and most likely, kill him, a completly different outcome to that of Bucciarati meeting Giorno, as Fugo didn't have any intention of betraying the boss.
      So, the story without Giorno would have concluded on Diavolo killing Bucciarati and Trish, and that was it, the end of it.
      It's unclear what kind of "Positive" outcome would have been created if Rolling Stones came in contact with Bucciarati, maybe the mission to find Giorno would have been cancelled, and the gang would go on to get better positions in the association, everybody simply lives "better" more comfortable lifes.
      However, by Mista using Gravity to "destroy" Rolling Stones, a third path was created, one, of much sacrifice and death, but of plenty of positive outcomes as well.
      Is important to note that none of those 3 Deaths were "worthless" they all served a greater purpose that led to the defeat of Diavolo, the greates enemy of the Gang and of Fate it self.
      Trish, Giorno, Mista, Fugo, and even the rest of Italy, now live better lifes thanks to this outcome.

    I believe this was the video that I have enjoyed the most so far. Realizing the connection between stands and the very souls of its users, even after life, is simply fantastic. The series has always played with the concepts of powers such as hamon, stands, spins, etc, and realizing how they are interconnected with the ancestors is summarily marvelous.

The reason why jojo is bizarre but not completely wacky random rule of cool as so many understand it as. Its internal consistency is tied to the concept that the spirit is just the residual particles that exist on a (rudimentary but suffice) quantum level. I could kiss you mate my god

    So this may be a somewhat stupid question while at the same time a potential idea for a separate video. Admittedly Anubis is my favorite stand, kinda simp for him lol.
    But im curious if youd consider him an independent stand that has always had his own personality or just gained a consciousness through his users death. If this is a question worth asking, either or this brings up the idea how different are stand identities from their users? Koichi’s Echo seems pretty distinct, while Golden Experience requiem acts exactly like Giorno just hiding it from him. Most important is Death 13, despite being what seems like a controlled stand he often refers to mannish baby as his “stand user,” probably not a big deal but im curious about sentient stands. White Snake appears to have a distinct personality as well from Pucci.

    • @michaelcarlton1484
      @michaelcarlton1484 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      Anubis is a Bound Stand attached to a sword. He is probably acting like Notorious B.I.G. in that he does things due to a very strong motive that keeps him in existence despite his user's death. Lots of Stands have some way of communicating separate from their user. Anubis is just a bit more developed in that way.

      Stands with personalitys, like Echoes Act 3 and White Snake, express the "true" feelings of their users, that's why Echoes insults people and why White Snake is so evil, and why the Bullets of Sex Pistols bully Number 5 (who is in reality Number 4).
      The one Stand that seems to trully have it's own personality is Dragon's Dream, since it's personality come from the concept of Feng Shui and not from his user.

    This really makes sense now that i think about it.
    As people need determination to be able to become Stand users, they also need it for their soul to come back if they happen to be revived, and i think that they're both pretty much the same case.
    Both cases are just having your soul out of your body, depending on how tied are they by your determination and the state of your body.
    Being determined and having a functional body means you can go back at any time, which makes stands possible. If you lack only determination, you cannot have a Stand, and if it's forced on you, it's like tearing your soul apart. If you lack only a functional body, you only need it to be healed to revive, and if you force it, your body won't really properly receive you as it cannot support you anymore.

    the concept of Stand users are basically normal people who have talent to touch/awoken their own soul. so strong that it can be manifested out is making a perfect sense to me. arrows are made to push that "talent" so they can use manifest their soul. So stands are basically a powerful souls coming out of a talented destined person. And ghost (object, person, ect) are basically stands, but have no powers. stands are just a way to specialize a soul that is so strong it have powets

    Up until the introduction of Reimi, no one really knew how stands and ghosts work out. Especially when Rohan used Heaven's Door on her and it still worked. Before that, I only thought that stands work only against other stands and humans (whether a stand user or not). But since stands are also referred to as "punchy ghosts" maybe that should provide an insight as to why they can interact with such. 😂😂😂

    One idea I have is that a stand can either be somebody who chooses to support a person after their death and take the form of a stand. For example Jotaro’s Star Platinum has a striking look to Johnathan. Maybe he came back to stop Dio. Or it could just be part of the user’s soul put into form separate from the rest of their soul in some cases.

    Would you make a video about Feng Shui? Dragons's Dream the stand seems like an evolution of the idea of other supernatural abilities granting stands, and how users may have one but not realize it at first.
    Because that stand acts in a neutral fashion it implies that the only part of the stand that is unique to its user is the arm rip mechanic. While the main function is universal, like Hammon's breathing. It's up to the individual to master it.

    I always saw Yoshihiro as a Stand from a deceased user since he is technically still bound by his ability Atom Heart Father, just now unable to trap anyone else thanks to the fight with Jotaro and Josuke (and possibly the camera being destroyed, my memory is hazy on if Jotaro/Josuke broke the camera after the fight). It does have it's own contradictions like Yoshihiro being able to interact with the world outside of his self portrait such as with his clothing thread and the arrow.

    My idea is that ghost stands, i.e. stands that persist even if their users have died with lingering feelings, usually negative, until killed like Atom Heart Father, or retired or, somewhat immobilised, like Notorious BIG. Works if the user stabs their stand with an arrow, but are killed before it is utilised.

  • @masteryoraerasante

    So, if the soul is a proto-stand, does that mean that a human's (or animal's) ghost is actually their old stand?
    It would explain why Kira's ghost lost access to Killer Queen, because he IS Killer Queen.
    Also would mean the Stand's shape is the shape of their soul, thus why even similar stands are still somewhat different - because their users are different even if very alike, like Dio/Diego and the two Kiras.
    But would that make ghost locations related to absorbing the energy of many stand users around? Would a ghost location sorta work like a proto-"blessing of the Earth"?
    Either way, there may be a relation why two of the three locations we have being related to so many Stand Users, and the third we don't have much info to tell?
