I’ve heard Jeremy McGrath say he thinks racing should still be all two strokes. I wonder what RC thinks? I want to get back into riding now that I can walk again (not a riding injury-took long break from riding being a soldier) and would probably want to ride the four stroke even though I never have ridden one. I want to see what it’s like. I love the smell and sound of the two strokes though. It’s expensive, however, and being laid up for so long not being able to work with minimal gov’t income, I can’t afford it yet. I don’t need the newest and best stuff, I just love to ride. I’m sure my injury would contribute to me not being very fast, but it’s just the love of riding. Any ideas on a good way to get started? Brand isn’t terribly important to me these days. I used to race Kawasaki, but I pretty much like all the brands out there. I’d love to try a KTM, but talk about not being able to afford it yet...
A well maintained 250F would be a good way back into it. Plenty fast but controllable and smooth. Or a maybe get on a 125 for the smell and the sound and adrenalin rush. Plenty of budget 125's around. I guess what I'm saying is don't go straight into 450F/250 2 stroke until you've got back in and fallen in love with it again. Smaller (and older) bikes don't put too much expectation on you at the track. Have some fun and see where it goes.
@@announmousmylife3967 Had to sell the bikes a while back, now I just cannot afford it. Type 1 Diabetic without insurance sucks. I would give anything to ride again though.
I would crash all the time ricky would pass me (im sure this would happen often ;) ) because i would just watch him and be impresed how easy hes throwing that whips! Just from another planet. RC is amazing!
RC- “These guys are fun to ride with” Dude you’re the #4 ON the #4, you just let a dude think he was racing you for a couple turns, and then threw him a huge whip before you split. YOU are fun to ride with.
i disagree during his career he was humble after retirement he got dickess , if you every rode with a pro the like to sandbag shit and stay with you until they see a jump that they like then they blow your doors off, us common folk let them pass but if they wanna hang its a free for all i been there and seen a practice day for teams practice day they rail the course rc here must just had an open day and im suprised some local wasnt blazin every section

Agreed...Although trey canard is a top contender for that spot.
mozer30 Guy Cooper too, met him in Dallas SX in the pits back when it was 100s of people instead of 1000s in the pits,...1992

The slow guys don't regulate in knowledge of gear lengths / ratio. It's a bad thing, not too know it too. Safety needs it.
Rc vs the prodigies!
