    Very impressive and very well explained. You should be a teacher. I run an amr 500 on a bug motor. Great fun. Keep it up

    Awesome job! I am thinking of doing this myself. Although I'm a bit scared... A boost of 5 psi would mean a pretty high compression ratio for the m44 engine. Have you had any knocking with this setup? Also, are you running 93 octane or race gas?

    500cc/ revolution (30.5 cu.in.) With straight, 2 lobe rotors. It could be over-driven, and make good boost on a 650cc-1000cc drag bikes or larger if RPM is kept low. Or it could be under-driven for smaller engines.
    On a 500cc two stroke, with the blower being driven 1.5:1 with the crank, it would produce approximately 7 psi boost.
    On a 750cc four stroke, with the blower being driven 1:1 with the crank, it would produce approximately 5 psi boost.
    On a 750cc four stroke, with the blower being driven 1.5:1 with the crank, it would produce approximately 15 psi boost.
    On a 1000cc four stroke, with the blower being driven 1.5:1 with the crank, it would produce approximately 9.5 psi boost.
    On a 1600cc VW engine, with the blower being driven 2.1:1 with the crank, it would produce approximately 5 psi, but the engine RPM must be limited to 8000 rpm.
    Max blower continous speed is 16,000 RPM Before this, these were only available in Japan!
    This would be a great blower for any small engine up to 1200cc ( depending on RPM ).

    The hose that came from ur intake elbow, going into your fuel rail, what did u do with that?

    • @theguywithajeep
      @theguywithajeep  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Blocked it off. It's an unnecessary feature on these BMWs. It was supposed to help with sending air around the fuel injectors. Google air shrouded fuel injector. With proper fuel pressure there's no need for this system. At least in my experience

    Awesome I’m doing this currently with a 2004 1.5ltr Hyundai Getz. We fabbing the supercharger mount atm. Then sort intercooler piping and mount. I’ll take photos and maybe do a short video. Have you a video of yours driving?

    Hi im so happy i found your analytic video here! Glad i see people installing s/c without custom manifold,there is also a german guy that is making a kit for this s/c (i can send you if you want,he is also mounting the s/c to a base screwed on alternator bolts)
    I would like to ask a few questions, 1st how bad is your fuel consumption with s/c? 2nd do you have any problems with stock ecu and just fuel pressure increased? 3rd and more important ,do you think it reaches 180-190 hp?:P

    Any update on this? Has it been running alright for the past few months?
    I'm considering adding one of these to my 2 litre Toyota, was wondering if you had managed to dyno it yet?
    Most info I find online is for smaller engines (which is what this thing was designed for).

    Can't tell but it sounds like it's running with a pretty rough idol. Computer is still trying to compensate for a vaccum leak with that periodic bogging it seems to me. Intrested in buying one for my 2.0l duratec. Didn't realize cooling system was needed, just saw a video with some guy that did it with no cooling system and a blow off valve.

    • @wimvanderschelden1369
      @wimvanderschelden1369 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cooling system isn't strictly required, it just runs a little better with one. The supercharger is running at over 15k rpm so it will get hot and that heat will add to the already heated air from the compression.

  • @johnturner39
    @johnturner39 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Dyno this thing! Would love to know what it makes.
    Also, are you over-revving this blower?

    • @wimvanderschelden1369
      @wimvanderschelden1369 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      He is ever so slightly, his engine redline is 6200rpm, the redline for his supercharger is 16500rpm, and the pulley ratio is 2.86, meaning he is revving the blower to 17732rpm.
      However, the Aisin AMR500 (which is Japanese by the way, not Chinese) is built to hold up to sustained loads at 16500, so short bursts of over-revving might not be such an issue.

    5 inch crank 1.75 SC that's a ratio of 2.85, at 6000rpm this baby would spool to 17k , it should be max at 16000 i think , i saw someone with a del sol damaged it with over 17k

    • @theguywithajeep
      @theguywithajeep  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      About that yeah. But that's at complete redline on the motor. The cars rarely driven at redline for extended periods. Figured short bursts when you giv'er would be fine. And it is so far :) normal rpm range was 2500 to about 5k depending

      @@theguywithajeep nice ..so its still on the car ..good to hear .. do you how much hp gained? I want to put it on my focus 1.6 ..at 2.4 ratio

    • @theguywithajeep
      @theguywithajeep  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@RabeaHussain that would be sweet. it only boosted about 5 psi.. so gains were id estimate around 30-40hp.. outa the 138hp motor. it was noticeable.. but it wasn't like. HOLY SHIT this car is fast :D pn a 1.6 though you would boost alot more then i did as your engine is smaller..

    • @theguywithajeep
      @theguywithajeep  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RabeaHussain mine was 1900cc... 1.9l.. so the amr does .500cc every rotation... so with my ratio's i did have positive pressure..so my math may be wrong but i divided the volume by 4.. and multiplied .500 by the rotations.. as only one cylinder is drawing in air at a time.. so a 1.9l motor divided by 4 is 0.475.. so in effect id need at least 4x my engine rpm to see any real positive boost. per cylinder intake stroke as the SC pressure will be constant with rpm. so at that ratio youll be putting in 480cc into a 400cc cylinder.. what that equates into boost i dunno :D
