Great video, very enjoyable! I'm 44 years old, I always found those kits fascinating as a kid but never had one. You made me realize I can literally just get one now instead. So I just ordered a National Geographic Mega Fossil Excavation Site kit for myself. :D
Yippi! More toys 😊. Love them all. When you broke the trilobite. I heard a voice in my head saying, "that's why we don't get you good things" Loved the agventure. Dig, dig, dig! Be happy, safe and stay healthy 😷⚒🌲 We wish you all the love and joy the two of you can stand. Now and all year long. I sent a Cajon Christmas song to the pod cast e-mail. It's goofy but fun.
Sometimes that's why I don't have nice things. If i took my time, it probably definitely wouldn't have broke but I know those types of trilobites are pretty fragile. We got that song :) Thank you for that!
Yep when you figure out that material let me know. Being grownup is fun 😂 I go on digging trips now. Hopefully in just a couple months I’ll be digging for fossils in Indiana.
This was really fun! I always wanted something like this when I was little too...well, as an adult as well. I wonder if the stuff when you clean out a water saw would be usable to make a 'jacket/block' like that. I have lots of mud at the end, would be a great upcycle. Anyhow, cool finds and I'm sure the trilobite will live with some help from the adhesive gods. Cheers!
The upcycle of the cut mud is a good question, maybe if it was from a saw that was used with water? It may also take longer to dry/cure than stuff that's made for making those casts. I still have to glue that trilobite back together haha
Roflmao! Great video! You are sooo funny. Every year I asked for a rock Tumblr for Christmas. I never got it, but now that I’m 48 years old I bought one! And I have bought these fossil digs for my two grandchildren. They love it, it’s definitely great memory making time. Thanks for doing this video.
you could create your own with plaster of paris. use a sand mold to create whatever patterns you want. i’d imagine food colouring or the like could be used to make it different colours. looks like another great idea for my nephews b-day in april! he’d love the dino poo.😂
I just received mine. I was in a museum, and I saw a demo of cleaning a fossil from clay. Since in the real world, when they found a specimen is small enough, they dig the surrounding mud with them and clean it up in the lab, which is very close to this toy, they actually do the job in a plastic box. So all the mess are in the box. If you need to stop, close the box and you are good to go. You or your grand son, can come back 80years later and continue the job. Of course you can also take it outside to simulate the site too when camping I guess?anyways, I also saw commands about the breaking of the Trilobite. Need to be careful. I suggest to protect it by putting protection coating before completely digging it out. Uv rasin may be? I may be too serious, I just saw the guy do it and I really want to try.

"Happy little fossils" 😂❤ Bob would be honored by the reference! Awesome video!
What fun. When I was first collecting as a kid all this would have been soooo exciting. It’s still great fun to see. Thank you!!
You're welcome and thank you for watching :)
