  • What’s up everyone and happy New Year’s Eve! I hope everyone has a fun and safe holiday, and to kick things off the RIGHT way, I’ve got an awesome video in store! Tonight I will be testing the Nat. Geo. and unbelievable SCIENCE “Crack Your Own Geode” kits, and seeing just how good these geodes really are. I will say, I didn’t “crack” the geodes as the kits advertise because honestly, they’re get destroyed, and we wouldn’t really know what’s inside!
    So for science, we cut open 9 geodes tonight using my 10” slab saw from HiTech Diamond to test of these kits are really worth the money or not!!
    National Geographic Kit: MSRP $9.99
    unbelievable SCIENCE Kit: MSRP $4.99
    If you’d like to check out the equipment that I use, or want to get your hands on your own saw or flat lap, head on over to www.hitechdiamond.com and browse their selection! If you do make a purchase be sure to use promo code “GCC” at checkout to receive 10% off orders! (excludes machines)

    So I was wondering. Could you do a review like this again but cracking them with a hammer or something, like someone would do if they didn't have access to a saw? I was thinking about getting the nat-geo kit for a bunch of kids I know. Mostly I'm wondering what some of those more sold ones would look like when broken rather then cut, if they brake, that sort of thing.

    Really cool, never thought these kits had gems in there like these. Thanks for sharing!

    I suspect most people in the market for a geode kit that is geared to kids ( like us) do not have a saw. A demo with a hammer would be more helpful.

      This demonstration was to show what was inside of the geodes, not necessarily how to open them. I have many videos showing a handful of ways to open them, the sole purpose was to showcase what was inside the geodes and if they are worth getting or not. But I can put another video together where we crack them open instead of cutting.

      Would you even be able to open some of those with a hammer?

    Top notch tutorial for identifying roughly what they'll look like on the inside vs. outside. That green was super cool!

    Not sure where you live. You should look into going to the dugway geod beds in Utah. I found several different colors geods to add to my collection.

    I just got my son a nat geo geode kit and we tried to open the rocks with hammers like they say to. Well we couldn’t get any open and destroyed one rock, I sure wish we had a saw like yours, what kind of uv light do you have and polisher? Thanks for the video!

    • @GeodeCrackerCollector
      @GeodeCrackerCollector  ปีที่แล้ว

      I use an alonefire sv003 365nm uv light. You can find it on Amazon for about 20-25 bucks! And the polisher I use is the 8” flat lap made by hitech Diamond!

    Audio is crap. Music is too loud and could not hear you over the music. Would be better without the noise!

    And how are us mere mortals meant to open the rocks? Not really testing the kit.
