Good price on that. I won’t be buying it for my kid though… He’s a bit of a special case 😂 like sometimes I remember when I was his age… and I get jealous of his collection! 🤣 that polished ammonite was LEGIT 👍🏼
bonus is that it’s actually from national geographic! not like those fake advent calendars i’ve seen out there. definitely going to get those for birthday gifts as i’ve had my christmas shopping done for a couple months now 😆 (first time ever!😂)
I'll be doing a fossil dig kit too here soon. I'm not sponsored...I literally just buy them to see what's inside and what I didn't get to have when I was younger. Plus it helps parents or other adults that plan on buying them get an idea of what to expect when making that investment.
I know this is a year old but we just got this kit and it was TOTALLY worth it! Our favorite is the aragonite and quartz points! We got a whole aragonite rock with many crystals. I wonder why you just got one crystal piece! We saw some the same size as ours in a rock shop selling for $22.
@@WorldofRockhounds My niece got a kit for Christmas. We already had one family get together. It was fun going through the rocks with her. I only had one I couldn’t identify. Fluorite. I’ve never had any rough so I couldn’t tell the difference between the rough fluorite and the rough calcite. 😆😆. I wanted to take them home to check them out with my tools. But it wasn’t mine to take home! 😆😆🤦♀️🤷♀️. It’s a cool gift for kids around age 7-8 for sure.
Hi there! I’m a younger rock collector! (15) I have a small collection of rocks and minerals and I don’t know what some are. I don’t know many rocks or minerals but I really like the hobby! Do you got any tips or tricks I can use?
When I was around your age, it was difficult to find decent online resources so I found various rock/mineral identification books to better help get an idea of what I had in my collection. I will make a post on the books that I have on hand here soon! Keep the hobby going! :D
Pues no soy un niño pequeño pero definitivamente comprare esa caja, me gustaría saciar a mi niño interior con un pequeño espacio en una repisa con minerales, piedras, fossiles y algunas figuras de Jurassic park
I just found your channel. Thank you for being more on the scientific side of rocks, minerals, and gemstones. TH-cam is filled with “spiritual” gemstone channels it’s actually sad. My 7 year old son purchased a small 25 gemstone kit a few months back and he’s obsessed. Can you guide me to a place to buy large quantities for a cheaper price? He’s really into his new hobby and I want to try to nourish his love of geology. Any general advice would be welcomed
I remember when I was about 11,my folks gave me a small geology "lab" for my birthday. It had 6 rock specimens,a chipping hammer and a few chemical chemicals to place chips in and document reactions. That was over 50 years ago,and still love the neat discoveries you can find collecting rocks.
The saddest part is knowing the contents of the box are not going to be good for 2 reasons. Past experience and the short video length 🤣😅 now to watch and hope to be surprised with some stunners in that box.
Indeed good for what it is though. Perfect for getting kids started into the hobby and an awesome learning tool. But not a recommendation as a gift for an avid rockhound 😅🤘
It's definitely meant for the younger kids that just want some cool rocks or to kick start their collection. I remember seeing stuff like this when I was younger but never got to get any.
Mine didn't come with the meteorite but I called customer service and they got me squared away really quickly since the box said it was supposed to come with one.

It's cool for some kids but not ALL kids. You guys also have all the cool crystals anyways haha

Genuinely excited to watch this, bro
I'm going to go get this kit for myself
I would have loved this as a kid! Especially that ammonite! :D
Amazing video, thank you for sharing!!
Thank you for watching!
Nice

Science is the power to knowledge.
I can see kids liking the kit. I like all their kits. You just have to remembet the target audience . Be happy, safe and stay healthy 😷⚒
I like seeing what's in them. I think this will help adults decide if it's a good gift for the child in their life...at my own cost haha
@@WorldofRockhounds yous so helpful. 😳🤪

I got the one that has 300 genuine specimens there are a few different things. The display case is a cylinder and most of the rocks are red jasper

Hi!. I received about a 4mm redish brown piece in the clear box...would that be a piece of meteorite?!?.. with the shell and 2 teeth clear box
It very well could be! I didn't really mention the meteorite too much since mine didn't come! You may have gotten one of the older boxes!
My grands are to big. Darn. Really don’t know any kids the right age. Neat box. I would have been over the moon at age 7 up to get this.
I know I wish I got them when I was younger!

That's so neat! Thank you for sharing that wonderful memory here! :)
Wow I want one for Christmas but it would only arrive in January❤️👍🤣
Late gifts are okay too!
Wow

I'm getting that for my birthday June 20th 2023
I have a question the minerals are real or fake.
My favorite fossil in the world is Ammonite
are the teeth real?
Yup, it is real!
I’m a kid but I’m gonna get that tomorrow my mom said
Oye si son reales si son de nacional greorapic significa que son reales en la vida
I also wouldn't post fake material and recommend it. :)
I only got it for the meteorite bruh
Mine didn't come with the meteorite but I called customer service and they got me squared away really quickly since the box said it was supposed to come with one.
Too bad they don't give out the media rights anymore
Chips and not worth the price
am still thinking if to get this one with my allowance or the fossil one ☠🫥
Both are still good picks!
