Train Sim World 2: DB BR 187

- From the Bombardier Traxx family, the DB BR 187 is now available for Train Sim World 2 by partner developer 'Skyhook Games'. The locomotive will carry scenarios for the 'Koln-Aachen' route and offer nearly 500 services which it can be used in, for basically all of the German routes in the game at present -barring 'Rapid Transit'. This is the second outing for Skyhook Games with TSW2 after the release of 'Cane Creek'.

Looks like Skyhook took some shortcuts again. Their stuff has a lot of wasted potential, especially Cane Creek.

For me, at TSW 2, German trains and routes are the most beautiful and the best (just my personal opinion because they are my favorites). To put it more correctly! XD
Vmax means max velocity, as the max speed the train is certified for.

This shows what kind of developer Skyhook Games is. Always taking shortcuts. Their crappy track record has been going on since the Class 58 in TS classic. At that point, they still cared just a little bit (enough to fix a minor functionality issue in one update).
After what I've seen from this, it looks like I'll never be buying another Skyhook DLC. They're just part of the problem at this point.
I honestly think the only good Skyhook products are the Corris Railway and its expansion pack for Train Simulator. I haven't got the DB BR187 or Cane Creek, but from what I gather neither product is all that good.
Yeah I think they had some decent Swiss or Austrian TS stock too. Its like devs get comfy w mediocrity on tsw
*maybe* enough folks'll cause an uproar over the sounds and it'll get "fixed". I try to be an optimist but then i think about Kane Kriik 😆
@@schnauzahpowahz I'm honestly scared to see what Horseshoe Curve will look like. If it's anything like Cane Creek, they're gonna be in some serious trouble.
Their only strong suit at this point is modeling the exteriors of locomotives. The 187 is very lackluster inside.

even with the sounds issues put aside the list of things bugged or wrong with this thing is just mindboggling..."let's implement a safety system but only show it on the hud and cut the audio" ffs
I was excited for this one at first, it’s a shame that it didn’t end up getting a good release. It’s really a great locomotive, but I can’t see myself paying $20 for garbage sounds and a train that doesn’t do anything interesting.
I don’t know what their Train Simulator add-ons are like, but with them releasing the BR 187 like this, as well as mostly abandoning Cane Creek (3 months without a single patch), I think that perhaps I shouldn’t be trusting Skyhook Games. I shouldn’t get my hopes up for their next route, Horseshoe Curve. While I would be happy to see them take time to actually fix their current add-ons, I can easily imagine them abandoning this one just as quickly as they abandoned Cane Creek, and then they’ll release Horseshoe Curve in a mediocre state, with an ES44AC that’s actually just a modified AC4400CW.
I appreciate Skyhook for making stuff for Train Sim World. Cane Creek, the BR 187, and Horseshoe Curve are awesome things to see come into the game. I like a lot about all 3 of those things. But I really wish they would truly represent them well. As an individual from the forums once said, “so TSG remains the only serious third party developer”. I hope this changes sometime soon, because I want Skyhook (and Rivet) to do well.

@@schnauzahpowahz So RRO is still your most played game even with the glitches and bugs? It looks like it's still rough but it's also very uncommon to see a game update as much as RRO has since the release which is very very promising.
So ultimately they are worse than DTG?!?
haha, personally I take it as a game, in the end it's not that bad if I look at everything that has been released so far on TSW1 and TSW2. (rivet ...)
Being a road builder, if I paid attention to all the tiny details, I would never have bought anything on TS or TSW.
You have to know how to be relative and take this game for what it is, namely a game.
I take it as a hobby neither more nor less and suddenly my expectations are surely far below the "specialists".
Yea, I´ll have to admit I kinda like the salty parts. You give excellent expression to what I´ve felt towards some of the third party "developers" when they keep doing these half a** creations! If you can´t do it right, just don´t! The most tragic/funny part is when we (the users and consumers) gonna pay full price for sh*t that ain´t finished and act like lab rats for future development... and halfway through they just abandon the project to start AND release a new one we can keep running in like freakin´ Guinea pigs! - Great review, keep up bringing it!

Using Rail driver there is no way to manipulate the AFB. The switches don’t do anything. They should’ve kept the mapping the same as the 185.
they should really wash the windows ... the rest of the train looks clean ... that's kind of weird
99mph is 158.4kmh so 140kmh can't be it's top speed.
LE. Corection: 87mph is 140kmh so that would be the top speed for freight then
DB BR 187 traction in TSW2 isnt the same as the real life one here

This is so bad , i was so dissapointed about this, i dont understand how could they put the broken sound from the 146, why didnt they put the 101 sound, since from seeing on the youtube the sound of the 187 is kinda similar to 101. Just bad, ive refunded after 10 min of gameplay, i just cant support this. I pray that maybe some modders make a sound replacement because i doubt that SHG will fix the sound going forward.
