    I'm 66 years old and I've been taking 1000mg per day ofmagnesium threonate for over a year. I sleep much better and my memory is great. My job required me to remember many things from day to day and I don't have any problems. I'm planning on retiring at 70, but maybe not.

    I have been taking Mag L-Threonate for about 3 yrs. Can’t compare to any others because this is only one I’ve taken but I’ve been pleased with it over all for my cognitive and mental health. Since I moved from Fl to Ohio I have not been taking my supplements regularly and I notice difference in my health. I blamed it on weather b/c I hate cold! It’s probably both of those. I’m going to get back on all supplements religiously and work to get back to Fl. I’m 82 and my main problem is neuropathy in feet. I Don’t take any meds either! I’m blessed 🙏!

      For neuropathy....I take BENFOTIAMINE everyday like 1000 to 1500 mg. It definitely helped me. NOTE: it takes a few weeks to months to work because those nerves are Damaged and UT takes a while to fix. Kinda like a developing baby. *Search Dr Eric Berg videos regarding BENFOTIAMINE 👍👍

      @Veronical3135 - while taking Mag is important- Vitamin D will completely stop your fibromyalgia. Take 50k a day for a couple of weeks then drop down to 25k and take 100 of Vit k with that. Fibro is your immune system attacking - D controls that - it stopped my Hashimoto Autoimmunity after 25 years. Plus you won't sleep completely soundly till D is optimal. Don't believe any of the hype about toxcity - basically you'd have to swim in it for a year and even then you would just need to cut back.

    I researched all the forms of magnesium for several months and narrowed it down to two. Glyncinate and L-Threonate. I finally decided on the L-Threonate due to its ability to break through the blood brain barrier. I just started taking it about 10 days ago. Praying it works for my terrible insomnia as well as brain function.

      It seems to be helping some however, all the research I have done says it can take 8 to 12 weeks of consistently taking it to start realizing some of the benefits. However, some may be felt sooner than that. I will tell you this much. I have been struggling for many months with a shoulder issue that actually stems from the nerves in my neck. I had pain every single day. My doctor wanted me to have an MRI and a nerve test but I decided to start doing some of my own research. After taking the L-Threonate for about a week I noticed my pain was completely gone. And it still is!! I definitely believe it is the L-Threonate that helped. @@ericachavis8853

      @@earlabalena8462 Today I had the first sign of being more cognitively tuned in. In recent months I have found myself having to actively rethink where the route to my destination goes as I set off to drive it and I can lose this in a brain fog on the way. I get it back fairly well but the fog is a worry which could be due to anxiety. Anyway, today I knew the route and remembered the destination without any effort. I hope I notice more signs of improvement.
      My sleep continues to be better and I sleep for longer. I still have some issues falling asleep on bad days when something worrying has happened but even then I am finding the ruminations are not causing the same level of anxiety surge and I no longer beat myself up as hard mentally. I get the thoughts but its like the weapon to wound me has been removed.

Try different things and give it time because I noticed benefits with healthy eating ie, not eating ice cream or dairy and trading that for fruits everyday. I'd eat 2 or 3 pears or peaches a day and cashews and water I felt a lot better and my gutt got healthy the longer I stayed on it the better I felt and I have fibro, Rh ,lyme, hashimottos ibd, hietal hernia.. . List goes on. I felt way better just from those few things. The cashews and fruit booted magnesium lowered all my bad lab numbers just worked I jknew if I wasn't as picky because I don't like melons or city's but those are super healthy too I cannot imagine how I'd feel with those and herbal medicines OH AND KELP SUPPLEMENTS took my thyroid and shrunk it and helped with agitation.

    I'm looking at a few Mag Threonate supplements online, and several show the following: a full serving of their product is 144 mg of elemental magnesium from 2,000 mg of Mag Threonate. Going by your recommendations of approx 300 mg for women.....I'm going by the elemental amount listed, is that correct? So I'd need more capsules than their serving size to get to 300 mg, yes? I hope I said all of that clearly.

    • @DrTomBiernacki
      @DrTomBiernacki  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

      magnesium L-threonate contains approximately 8.9% elemental magnesium. So, if you take 1,000 milligrams (1 gram) of magnesium L-threonate, you are getting about 89 milligrams of elemental magnesium. If you take 2,000 milligrams (2 grams) of magnesium L-threonate, you are getting about 178 milligrams of elemental magnesium. In the studies they took on average 1.5 grams - 2.0 grams (so about 150-180mg of elemental magnesium) to get the results discussed.
      It's important to note that the recommended daily intake of magnesium for adults can vary, but it generally falls in the range of 300 to 400 milligrams of elemental magnesium per day, depending on factors such as age, sex, and individual health needs. Therefore, when taking magnesium supplements, you should consider both the total dosage of the supplement (e.g., 1,000-2,000 milligrams of magnesium L-threonate) and the amount of elemental magnesium it provides (e.g., 89-178 milligrams of elemental magnesium) to ensure you are meeting your dietary magnesium requirements.
      So there is no perfect answer, but it is probably safe to go a little higher, but more expensive for sure. Or you can combine magnesium through food or other types like Mag chloride to get more during the week.
      If possible, we would appreciate a quick rating (hopefully good), as it makes a HUGE difference!

    There's a question I cant find the answer anywhere, lets see. There's magnesium threonate and there is Magtein. Magtein is a patented recipe that they claim they bonded everything with vitamin C and the results are only relevant like that, then there's the magnesium threonate, without the vitamin c bonding, which is the one I take. Question is, does it really need to be "Magtein" for it to be effective? Thanks!

    • @DrTomBiernacki
      @DrTomBiernacki  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Doing some specific digging, my conclusion is that: Magtein and magnesium L-threonate are essentially the same thing. Magtein is a branded product that contains magnesium L-threonate as its active ingredient. Therefore, there is no specific difference between Magtein and magnesium L-threonate in terms of their chemical composition or core properties. Magtein is simply a trade name used to market a specific form of magnesium L-threonate. Hope that is what you were looking for : )

      So on most of these bottles of Mag threonate there is about 2 grams of mag threonate = 2 grams of total mag threonate (144mg of elemental magnesium). Again this is per the studies. You do not necessarily need 400mg of pure mag threonate magnesium, although more studies may be performed showing this in the future.
