I pulled my left upper trap 6 days ago, and the pain since has been genuinely excruciating. sitting in my car screaming excruciating! I bought an upper back posture brace today, and it has improved things massively so far. I'll never neglect my upper back, neck, and shoulder posture again!

Traps often get sore when it is stretched out too much due to your neck and shoulder going forward. So you need to target those muscles that bring your neck and shoulders like pec SCM and even Rotator cuffs in order to fix the problem permenantly.

Your tennis ball for hump has changed my life. I was injured in a wreck and had it within 3 weeks following . No dr would help. The exercise released my shoulder after 4 years. After a week the hump is gone but I'm left with trap pain that's horrendous. I can feel it creep up to tense up. Can't wait to try these exercises. It is extremely hard to extend my head back or up. I have till January till I see a Dr and I hope I can heal lots and be ready for my neck surgery.

I have this constantly after every upper body workout, riding a bike even. (Due to my bad posture and muscle weakness related to it). My question is: Will this put me at a risk of an injury or can I push through with my workout (mainly pull ups) and just stretch out, massage in between workouts. Correcting my posture and strengthening scapular muscles at the same time. Or should I rather just ditch working out all together and just focus on correcting my posture (I would very much like to not do that.) Thank you anyone for answering.

Since car accident in 2018 ; when I lay on my back ( left trap & side of chest under arms ) I get a numbing/achy/slight burning feeling that gets relieved by stretching and of course getting off that muscle. This gets triggered when I put pressure on to it. Lately rarely does it just ache or give me the tiniest feeling that it’s super sensitive to the touch. Don’t know if it’s getting better with another years time. But I’ll try these exercises, the two PT’s and MRI’s I’ve had done has not given me my life back and my patience is starting to wear out. 😣 #mentallytired

I have 2 bulging disc in my neck and a condition called myofascial syndrome disorder. My neck and traps are always inflamed. I use to get trigger point injections until the last one I received made my lung collapse. So I had to learn new ways to cope with the pain. No more needles just relax practice your breathing while you stretch

I get a pulled trap on the regular, just doing... nothing! In fact, I woke up Jan 1 in horrible pain and unable to move much. (That should have been a big hint at how 2020 was going to go!) It always seems to happen when I’ve been lying down. I guess it could be posture, although I do try to sit up straight when I’m working. I guess I’m guilty like everyone else of craning my neck to jack with my phone... like now. 😊 Thanks, Bob and Brad!

I used to lift heavy stuff and now I have this sharp popping strain in my right trap. It's been ongoing for a month. It reaggrevates when I stand and do repetitive motions for too long

      Is it fine now?

@@asifmohd9177 it's only aggravated when standing for long periods of time or working after like 4 hours. I was a cashier and using repetitive motions triggered it after a while. Physical therapy didn't really help. It just takes time

I find, when I do the chin tuck, I get sharp localized pain in my right lower trap. I do have knots there from too much snow shovelling coupled with bad posture and iPad usage.Do I need to get rid of these knots b4 doing these exercises or will these exercises help loosen the knots.I find heat helps loosen them. But recently, after working for a few hrs, I will develope occipital headaches which are terrible.HELP

In addition to my previous post..when I do feel that sharp pain it’s like there is a string attached to the base of my skull and to the knot area in my lower trap.Move my head in certain positions ie chin tuck...the pain is there.Im assuming the neck is the problem and the trap the trigger?

Hi guys! I’m just finding this video and am currently lit up with trap pain. I have an autoimmune and I made the mistake of carrying heavy stuff. This is a chronic problem, any tips for decreasing the pain immediately? Heat, arnica gel, thayers, pain patches. Nothing touches it. NSAIDs are bad fir auto immune. Owie owie owie!!! This sucks a duck! I guess I gotta wait fir it to calm down bf I can do stretches. 😭
