Those evora's where produced as a "4 seater" to lower insurance costs in the UK and other countries. I sat in the back of these, you can only really fit when you don't have any legs haha

I like the old Volvo C70 Cabriolet. It is a real 4 seater and quite some fun. No chance against Porsches, but still fun. And very comfortable with nice sound system. ^^

4-seater mid-engine car has been made before by Ferrari. (+ Maserati Merak and Lamborghini Urraco)
And even though they haven't delivered any cars yet. I would still count Koenigsegg Gemera
(I would even go so far, and call the Gemera the first REAL 4-seater mid engine car. Cause it's the first one, that actually fits adults with legs, in the back seats.)

from the fellow Evora owner, props for a good lap. I heard Misha mentioning long gearing, and this car definetly doesn't have the original short ratio gearbox anymore, there is no way you could be doing close to 200kmh in 3rd gear. Stock ratios are very short.
He DID say it was a very early Evora so maybe they made that change thereafter.
i own Evora400 - gears are pretty long here
He's doing 200kmh (~ 120mph) in 4th isn't he?
Looks like the stock closer gear ratios to me, seems similar to the GT410 I drove. They are still long, but not quite the original Toyota diesel ratios that the gearbox came with.
I do trackdays and can confirm this iss short ratio gearbox
This looked tremendously smooth! No bouncing and skipping over the bumps, well judged by Lotus. Seems like a great daily and the occasional track day. 👍
Lotus is such An underrated brand.
They are making light funny cars with V6 engines and Lots of horsepower for that weight.
And most important, they are manual so the experience is just on another level.

I like Lotus also, but the evora is quite heavy for a lotus and i wouldnt call it lightweight anymore.....

Love this car, so unique, so capable, to me the engine sounds very very good, and god this car is GORGEOUS.
I think it’s really a car you should appreciate more and more with time, especially you can perfectly daily drive it…

Lotus has always favored a softer set-up with some controlled body roll. It's like a progressively loaded spring that then smoothly unloads. Even though I've upped my Elise to 400bhp, I keep the spring rates pretty much original style because, in the 18 years I've had it, I like its predictable, communicative feel. Misha, you know you want a Lotus :)
I absolutely adore the original Evora, one of my favorite cars of all times
Someone please lend him your gt430, love to see his take on a later version of the evora. I live in the USA otherwise I would gladly offer my evora GT for a few laps. It’s a pretty significant leap between the evora S and the GT (suspension, aero and power) & another larger leap to the GT430 (Ohlins + downforce)
Considering it's "only 350hp" it seems very fast! I've seen cars with higher claimed power figures on your channel not hit the speeds this manages. Really calm and smooth lap that one.
Seemed like a quick-ish lap and the suspension and handling were quite well suited to The Ring!

Man my favorite time of the day, sitting down after a day of work and watching these vids. Bucket list in the next two years = shipping my car over to Germany for the ring and autobahn and over to Japan for Tsukuba and the shotoko expressway. I hate the saying YOLO but it's kinda true lol

Thanks to the Evora owner for these lovely laps. These are really rear engine'd with the engine on top of the rear wheels. You can certainly feel it in extremis. A great car nonetheless. The GT410 would be more focused for the track and as such is more compromised as a road car. I certainly enjoy driving them.
After i see this i really like this car, looks very forgiving and comfident pretty fast.
Not a huge amount of power but the weight gives up for that.
This is could be a great car 'out of the box' if you want to go fast and have something else than a average BMW..
Love an evora (hence the profile pic 😂) hopefully you get a 400 or 430 come on the channel, definitely an underated car and would like to get one in the future but R56 Mini keeps me happy in the mean time 😅

Anyone can drive a fast car fast, but it takes a real driver to drive a slow car fast, I tracked both of my V6 Genesis Coupes with a little over 300hp and it's still a blast passing V8's

I've never really cared for the Evora , I always kind of thought it was just Lotus bowing down to the demand for a more normal car . But it's nice to see that it does have the same track pedigree that the other Lotus cars have . If I was going to buy a Lotus it would either be a Lotus Exige , or one of the brand new ones .

Ferrari made the 308 Dino and the infamous Mondial both of which have engine in the middle and four seats. Evora is cool enough, no need to invent anything to make it more interesting.

Looks like a car that you can have as a daily (it looks relaxed and not jumping all over) but at the same time have fun in the track... (Albeit it should be a bit expensive to maintain)...
The gearing is super long! Misha naturally driving at nearly 50mph in second whilst cooling the brakes made me chuckle.

Well evora isn't the only mid engined 4 seater, there was a Ferrari Mondial, Ferrari Dino 308, Masseratti Merak and Lamborghini Urraco. What is interesting the last 3 of those were chosen by old Top Gear trio for "Budget Supercar challenge". And Mondial especially the cabrio version (Yes you can buy Ferrari with mid mounted v8 that has no roof and can seat 4 people) is somewhat a marmite unicorn of Ferrari brand that people seem to find interesting eg. Chris Harris bought one and did a interesting video on it, also there is famous photo of pope John Paul 2 in one as I recall it was used as coolest popemobile during his tour of Ferrari factory.
00:50 just a note: You can use a compressor rather than manually setting the volume. It will sound more clear and less choppy.
These settings should work ok, but adjust them to fit your needs:
Threshold: -25 dB
Gain: 10 dB
Ratio: 6:1
To increase the compression you can lower the threshold, this is where it will start to compress.
Then just increase the gain until the average speaking is around -10 dB of volume.
That's just going to reduce the dynamic range and therefore also boost the background noise as well.
@@cheekychappy1234 But the background noise is already louder when they're talking. And there are also noise suppression plugins (VST or otherwise). I am at least suggesting some alternatives to not make it so jarring. I would prefer slightly louder background noise than the jarring effect of manually raised volume like in this instance.

The four seater comment in fact isn't true! The Ferrari 308 GT4 comes to mind immediatly, and bunch more in that lineage of cars. as far as im aware there are some lambogrhinis of similar layout too. still a rare layout and very cool!
