love it how did u do wireless with that type of trolling motor? I have a minn kote riptide 55 diy transom mount I'm literally doing after work. would love to be able to use that
*I bought this model for my 14 ft Jon boat. **enjoyable.fishing** recommend love it!!! It pushes my boat with ease ( 2 men 220 each). I would highly recommend this to anyone.*
I found the switch online that you use, question I have is how does it hook up to the trolling motor? I see that it has a connector on it so not sure how you rigged it up?
I used a motorcycle charger quick connect. The trolling motor goes to controller, controller to battery. Run trolling motor at max speed as the controller will control the speed.
@@ericrosell1344 also how do you wire both battery and trolling motor to the controller? Sorry I’m a newb lol. But isn’t there only one cable on the controller?
@@ajk4164 The controller is in line between the battery and the trolling motor. So Battery -> Controller -> Trolling motor. In this video I had purchased a controller, that guy is no longer in business. In the past I build a couple others from parts purchased at a local electronics shop. Sorry no link and I no longer have the E-Kayaks. Good luck!
Great vid, ...i have tamarack on order. so hope to do something similar. any idea how long the 35 amp hour will run the motor if i were only to use 1st and 2nd....I fish on ca delta, and no need to go too far to find fish. Although i dont catch many lol....i want to do a pwm also, but I still wont be going fast. tks in advance Ken.... I subscribed and liked, hope you do more mods and share....
Concord Roofer I get all day out of it. The controller helps that and I never use more than 60% of gas until the way in. All day on the flats is till about noon as it gets much hotter after noon in Florida to be on the flats. I head out at safe light. Good luck. Btw I leave the motor in position five and the controller handles the power management.
@@ericrosell1344 Hi Eric sounds like me, have to stay oout of sun. so thats what i am going to try, thanks so much for reply. I will let yoou know how mine works out....stay cool and enjoy your modified Yak.
I never made a video on how I built it as it was over a few days. Its pretty basic, get some of the thicker 1.25 inch wide angled aluminum at homedepot, I though bolted as i had access. Just did the same on a new version of this yak and had to get the Stainless steel toggle bolts from west marine (they sell them for bow mounted trolling motors). For the controller, the company I used is out of business. On the second kayak built my own PWM (Pulse width modulator). I'll try to get an updated video of both of them to share shortly.
The place I bought it from is no longer in business. (Wirelesstrolling motor pro) , I actually just recently created another e-kayak and built my own PWM. The original is still working great today.
This is sweet man! Do you ever have any issues with weight? I'm a 200lb man, but I feel like me + the trolling motor/battery + fishing gear might be a bit too much to haul. I think the weight limit is 280?
Thanks for the comments all. I had actually sold this a year or so ago. Worked perfect the entire time!
Any chance you can make a video on how you made it? I really like it.
this is the best Idea. very smart young man Thank you
Nice and simple!! Exactly how things should be! Nice video man.
I found this by accident, like your mod been searching for this on my tamarack pro, nice video
Can you show more with detail the PCP pipe to steer .I have the same kayak.and want to do the same thing

awesome!! Love it. Any chance you could make a video of how you built your mount for the trolling motor?
I know this video is old but can you tell me how long the battery will last on that setup?
Nice, no problems with the battery getting wet?
How deep is the prop in the water?
So i fl if you have a trolling motor on you have to register your kayak?
That it cool.
Good job 👍🏻🦈🍺
Where get I get the speed control ?

How can i get in direct contact with the person who built this kayak, i plan on doing the same thing with the same exact kayak, jus a few questions.
what is the purpose of the bungee cord on the steering mechanism at the trolling motor steering stick?
Thats awesome
do you have to license it ? i want to do that to my kayak also for weeki wachee
Brilliant!
Nice job!! Post the how to if you can please.

How do you remove weeds and lily pads if it gets hung up?
Im in saltwater 99.9% of the time, not really an issue. Sometimes grass gets stuck, i just hit reverse and it comes out.
Where did u get that remote

How much does that battery weigh?
Legit 👍
Brilliant

I'm 220 and mine still works. You should be fine. I think they can actually carry more but laws.
The new Crescent Crew can hold 600lbs 1 or 2 seater
Nice!
So it's a left turn on me 😆
Scary if you flip over, make sure you tie down everything to the kayak.
Its nice but it could be refined alot.
Brilliant!
