    I realize this video is 8 months old as of this posting, but I couldn't agree with your conclusions more. I actually owned a Fuji F100V for over a year. I was fortunate enough to buy one before the price went through the roof. It's a beautiful camera that takes razor sharp photos. I can't knock it there, but do you really want to walk around with a camera that expensive, you cannot change lenses and it's not even weather resistant. I was able to sell it off for a very handy profit. Since I have been heavily invested in the Olympus system for years, the little Pen E-PM2 was a no brainer. I own a few of the Pen series, but this tiny camera has a charm of it's own. Thanks for recommending it.

      Thank you! I can’t knock the Fuji anything, I am a huge Fuji fan and use the X-T5 for professional work. Fuji makes a great camera system. And I also like the X100# cameras. But the hyped up prices just kill it for me.

    Absolutely agree with all of this. Bought a cheap epm-2 for $50 on ebay with a sticky navigation wheel that made the camera "broken" per the seller. Applied some contact cleaner and the camera worked like new! I'm shocked with the image quality and the camera's color profile, love how it sees the world. Picked up a 45mm 1.8 as well as the cheap zoom lens 40-150mm 4.0-5.6 both used as well. Extremely impressive the quality you can get by buying used m43 lens and bodies for next to nothing.

      Hi. I have in sight an E-PM2 with two kit lenses for 200$. One of them is the 40-150. Would you say that the ibis in the small body is enough to stabilise the lens at telephoto for stills? I’ve read reviews where it is said that the ibis in this unit isn’t good enough for telephoto or it suffers from shutter shock.
      Thank you.

    I too own an E-PM2. It cost me only £35 minus a lens. A couple of things you didn't mention is that the PM2 can also take an EVF (I noticed the funny part when you tried to take it to your eye, only to forget it doesn't have a viewfinder!) The other thing is that the PM2 has 3-axis stabilisation, which being an Olympus is the best I.S. on any camera system today. Olympus really nailed the I.S. on their m43 cameras. The last thing I'm going to say is that for a 2013 camera, the E-PM2 is a brilliant inexpensive alternative to the rather overpriced Ricoh GR. The PM2 is the exact same size of the Ricoh GRD IV and the GR II (both, I also own). Yet the PM2 is also almost as old as the GRD IV, outperforms both the GRD and GR II in terms of speed. IQ on low ISO like 200, I can't tell the difference between PM2 and GR II. Seriously consider the PM2 (or E-PL10) if you're lusting after a GR III but cannot afford to justify the insane asking price.

    • @MattRyanPhoto55
      @MattRyanPhoto55  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I been looking at the evfs. The 2,3, and 4. Just waiting for a good price. All the ones I’m finding are $120 or more. It is a mighty little camera and I did leave out a bit of info but figured. I went into more detail but cut that out of the video for time and chose to go a more simpler route. Thanks for all the info!!! I plan to do another video with either the pm2 or pl10 vs the Ricoh just for the algorithm lol

  • @np-ql2ih

    Video autofocus was better than a lot of panasonic cameras Ive seen. Thats pretty impressive considering the age and price of this camera with contrast AF. Olympus somehow minimizes the back and fourth hunting, once focused. There is a great video comparing the E-m10 iii to the Canon m50 in Russian. The canon is faster in HD but olympus is still very good. In 4k the olympus is way better.

    • @MattRyanPhoto55
      @MattRyanPhoto55  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah the video is not bad, the lens I used for the video was not the best choice, and the framerate was different on the PM2 than the rest of the video so it made the video look even worse than what it actually is.

      Yeah I need to get a EVF for the PM2 but to be honest I have been bringing the PL10 everywhere and using it for everything even as a backup/2nd camera when on photo shoots. I use the 14-42 EZ ED lens and it is sharp, small, and silent and just perfect for everyday use and makes these cameras the size of a premium point and shoot which is why I bought them, I also adapted some amazing vintage lenses to it but with no EVF they can be difficult to make sure its in focus lol. But I never once thought I would pretty much ignore my Fuji X-T5s for everything other than professional work.

      The X100v is an incredible camera, and the prices are starting to come down which is good, and I am sure I will buy one some point, but at the time of this video used ones were going for over a $1,000 more than what retail for new was. So my goal was to show that you can still get great photos out of an older camera that is roughly the same size for under $200.
