About Me:
My bio is pretty random: In short, I am a professional singer/songwriter from Toronto, Canada who moved to Manila, Philippines which sorta became my Hollywood because my first TH-cam channel MIKEYBUSTOSVIDEOS grew popular due to Filipino comedy videos. Meanwhile, I'm also a big biology geek who is obsessed with ants, so I built an internationally operating ant business supported by another popular channel called ANTSCANADA, and well basically, today I travel and tour around the world doing what I love so I wanted to start this vlogging channel, in hopes to encourage you guys to follow your dreams no matter how random, by showing you what happened when I followed mine! You just never know where life will take you when you listen to the yearnings of your heart!

I cant help remember the old school vlogs and see how much you & RJ have manifested. Like NYC the topsy turvey chairs in time square, the Canada concert tour when the producers friend who made you the red carpert suit & who he had a hairless dog & you said you wanted one, the bali lighted mirror, I could go on and on but thanks to you guys I have learn to manifest and be more grateful every day. I am currently one year away from being in remission, and I continue to live healthy and bio hack to stay healthy. Thank you both.❤

prior discovering this blog Mikey...I felt so alone for almost two years. There were so many changes in the family and now I am living with my 26 and 24 year old sons and my one and only 10 year old shih tzu. Since the time I discovered this channel, somehow felt a new friend named Mikey. I love your attitude in life...I love your positivity , the nature, the dogs, even how you bless the plants insects everything! looking forward to your farm....and all the beasts and fruits therein. I feel like crying when I watch your vlogs (tears of joy!). It's so satisfying, the little things and what comes with them or went... the kitchen curtains slowly opening, the mist on the glass beside the pool, a little antscanada BTS, the green in the green room and then the green outside the green room, birds singing in the background, snakes(?), just everything.... Real "thank you life" energy. Thank you.
Such an honest vlog. Loved this, talking about peace and lack of drama. So important as we get older.
I don't know any farm consultants, but I can tell you how to grow apples and pears in the Philippines. :P It's been a passion project for me for the last 2 years or so and I already have small saplings. Take the seeds, place them in a sheet of tissue paper in a plastic container or bag, fold it over, _slightly moisten_ the paper, then place it in the fridge (NOT the freezer) preferably where you store veggies. Then forget about it for 2 or 3 months. When they start sprouting, transfer them to individual seedling bags. A lot of them will wilt at this stage due to fungus, so take care not to damage the roots and it helps if you sprouted a lot of seeds beforehand. The ones which survive and grow more than two leaves can be transferred directly unto soil. Choose some place that gets morning sun. Do not overwater. 🍎
Also, for apples, choose as many varieties as possible, and have two or more trees of different varieties, since apples need to cross-pollinate. There's a high chance you'll get crab apples, since apples do not grow true to seed, but hey it's apples. Asian pears (the "white apples" you can find in the Philippine market) on the other hand, can self-pollinate.
Other than that, native and nativized fruit trees are pretty easy to grow. Just literally buy a sapling and plant them in soil. Then wait 😅which is the hardest part. I recommend balimbing (star fruit) because they're beautiful trees and fruit all year round. Common fruit trees like rambutan, lanzones, santol, tambis (water apple), papaya, guyabano, guavas, duhat, jackfruit, etc. are straightforward and will guarantee some sort of fruit all year. Citruses like calamansi, pomelo, dalandan, and even oranges are all native to tropical Asia, so they also grow well. Rarer native trees like mabolo (which is also valued for its wood - kamagong), bignay (which is made into wine), marang, durian, are also good choices. I guess it depends on what you like eating.

I love the time we get to spend with the dogs. I miss those vlogs where the dogs are the stars.
I’m like you, I love the “big” shopping trip to a Costco or other huge stores. I have to be very disciplined to stick to my list or I’d end up with way too much stuff I really don’t need.
Hmmmm… Bio-Hacking, sounds super cool, a much better word than diet, LMAO.

I agree, Mikey - your “Ants Canada style” storytelling is a huge part of the channel’s success. Particularly for someone, like me, who never found ants terribly interesting. I think of it as “Game of Thrones style” 🤣 because you are telling grand, epic stories and your voice proclaims that ants are fascinating creatures and worthy of our attention. Again, I am so proud of you and the team. Last week, teachers started back to work at my school. I was pleased to welcome another two new teachers from the Phillipines, Rene and Christina. We talked about you. They really didn't know about the ants channel but love how funny you are. Don't worry... I'm sharing! I'm going to try and get some snack foods from the Phillipines to gift them at Christmas as I'm sure they will be feeling more homesickness by then. ❤

I hope you find a spot to grow dragon fruit. I live in SoCal and my acupuncturist has a HUGE dragon fruit plant. It's a wild, crazy looking plant, but the fruits are sooooo good, as you know. Would luv to watch that plant grow at the farm house!

I had watched in one of Mr. Julius Babao blog he sought the advice of Mr. Bernie Dizon Sr. regarding his grapes and mango tree. I think his knowledgeable in agricultural products. He was selling fruit bearing trees in Wild Park in Quezon City before but I think he already transferred to other place.
When I watch your vlog late at night (ex. 10pm), I kinda get hungry 😂 and I took some weight 😵

Mikey, have you heard about the SHMPOO GINGER LILY plant??? it is really nature's shampoo. I've seen a couple of videos about it and they said that it makes your hair really soft, plus the fact that it's all naturall makes it safe for the environment and i know you're all about that.
I'm more of a freshly grounded coffee type, the smell and taste is just so much better as you said 😍 We had Nespresso for a long time and it was good, but we stopped because of the price of the pods and especially the waste, even if they can be collected, apparently they are not as well recyclable as it's being said 😕
I get what you mean about there being more drama if the circle of friends is bigger, which is why I no longer talk that much to those people that makes a lot of drama for pretty petty reasons haha.
And as an answer to the coffee question, I usually drink coffee whenever I have something that should be done as soon as possible, like when I was doing my thesis last year haha. The consumption of coffee got so frequent that it even threw off my sleep schedule haha.
Also, it seemed like the Black-naped Irioles have taken the throne of the Golden-bellied Gerygones for the bird species that is most frequently heard in the background in the vlogs. I remember back when the Mabuhay Farm House was still under construction when the gerygones were the most frequently heard species.
37:57 Pampano is also my favorite fish. I loved when my mom cooked it. The skin when it’s crunchy is good too.

I spend most of my time at home alone as well. Of course I see people at my job and sometimes I see friends, plus my mum lives close, but most of my days off are spend alone at my home with my pets. 🥰

Amazing stuff and thank you for being our form of entertainment while we are taking care of our twin boys and daughter. :) By the way our daughter randomly sings your intro hahaha. I noticed you have the original line Nespresso machine. I love coffee for both the enjoyment and survival of keeping up with the kids/work. I have a lot of limited edition sleeves for the Nespresso machine and I would love to send you a bunch on the house.
I can either send you a box over, like we do for my wife’s family in Manila, or send them to your moms house/ a PO Box. So when you meet your beautiful parents or they visit you, you can get the delicious coffee.

I like grinding fresh beans and using the french press more than the nespresso,the flavors of the nespresso pods seem to mask the fresh aroma you get from freshly ground coffee😊

Here goes a fun story, my wife is Filipina and she knew you already, and I follow you in AC channel for a while for after a long time we discovered it's you, and since them started follow more here.
