Mine has 2 silver square weights with a screw inside i opened it up and removed them to make it lighter.
Have you guys come across an issue where the Cog Key is registering as the Y button and single press of the APG registers at the L key? cant use the APG on this controller at all. about to take it back since there is no tech support for this controller. the 3 second press for the recording of APG does nothing.
EDit: NVM Y button does not seam to be even connected to the controller. hooked it up to my computer and it does not register any press.
9:05 it’s not just for PC. That is how you fix this controller with the issues people are having. The firmware includes accuracy fix for Splatoon. Don’t skip those instructions.
Just out of curiosity, if I download the firmware and the controller will not turn on at all is that normal? I downloaded it, followed all the instructions but it will not turn on after an hour of doing it. I don’t know if it’s cuz I’m a Macbook user and it appears to only go with Windows.
@@awkwardrainbowpotato5620 I am not sure but that’s not normal. It turns on while updating and then quickly turns off and back on again.
I picked this up seen it was gulikit n been having a ball with it the Xbox one shape gives me familiarity competitive games ups my game still does what a 1st party controller does but no drift

I have the same everything. White joycon oled switch and white zenpro controller. I watched this video in hopes to learn more about the indepth functions of the controller, so I will be watching the next vid about that. Otherwise my experience was exactly the same as this. Great controller, highly recommended.
Edit: Couldn't find the follow up video... wanted to see how to adjust the trigger sensitivity and how to program the turbo button.
It seems that a huge amount of people bought this controller during the Christmas season; especially, because the official Switch Pro Controller for some reason is completely out of stock by every retailer. I feel that Nintendo released a firmware update that blocked this controller from pairing but following the update instructions fixes this completely. 9:05 needs to be followed and done to fix all issues. I feel if you make a video how to do this you might be the only person to show this and get a huge amount of traffic view wise. I have just done this process and if is 100% the fix. Can you show this?
You mean because all of their official Switch Pro Controllers have drift.

I posted the fix with the connection issues people are having but it keeps getting deleted. Follow the instructions for firmware updating that came in the box very carefully.
I bought it because of the magnetic joycons, after having a chronical problem with joycon drift on both Nintendo Switch Pro controller and regular joycons (2 units), plus a generic alternative. All of them suck about drifting, but Gulikit apparently solves that issue quite nicely.
Then, after unboxed, I realized another feature I just loved: the multi-devices pairing thingy. I love that, as I play both in PC and Switch, sometimes on Mac as well, and it's annoying to keep swithing devices and pairing them again, so I usually keep a dedicated PS4 Dual Shock controller only for PC, but I don't like it actually. So, using this Gulikit guy paird both to PC and Switch should save me some time and headaches from now on. At least I hope :)

@@pablovillanueva5494 yes, and I have to say: it's a very good controller. The downside is that it feels pretty much an XBox controller, while I'm more used to Switch Pro, the main difference that central buttons are accumulated in the middle, which forces you to move your thumbs a bit further when you need to switch weapons or pause, but you get used to and the upsides worth it.
hey is when then controller is charging, there is no any indicator? mine just have red indicator about 15 then the indicator is nothing

I don't know if this would help anyone, but I do see that this model has firmware updates on the official GuliKit site. This controller is model #NS09. I don't own this controller but have been curious about it.

What was the real world battery life? How is the gyro tilt functions for games?
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make a video with the entire life of the battery charge. 😆 But so far, the battery hasn't died since I bought it.
As for the gyro, it doesn't seem any different than the standard pro from my experience, but I don't play any games with the gyro turned on. I use Crysis to test the games gyro functionality and then turn it off right away.

You can actually use it on pc and xbox. Thats what the x-windows indicator is on the top portion. Ive been using this controllers little brothers, the kingkong 2 pro for 2 years now and its been the best. I've upgraded to this recently and still loved it. Gulikit has a very responsive team for support on their website and i got trigger replacements from them because mine wore out and it was for FREE. They even have controller firmware updates to better sensitivity on the control sticks and gyro. Its so easy to manually update them.
So what's the difference between the Zen Pro and thr gulikit pro 2? Which is thr better controller? I can't find any any information about this controller. My Instinct tells me this is the retail/target version of thr gulikit pro 2
@@redcrimson1028 I have seen a couple posts of people saying it is just a rebranded gulikit sold at Target but I can't confirm that..
@@andyb6771 that's the conclusion I came to when I did my research. I picked up one at target and it is a very overrated controller. Had lag/latency out of the box and drift/calibration issues.
@@redcrimson1028 I ended up going with the 8bitdo. Mainly as it came with a charging dock for the controller, and the app works well also.

After looking them up online, this seems to just be the Switch version of that controller.

It's just a new name and colors. also the manual is worded different.
So I've been looking at the GuliKit KingKong 2 Pro Controller and just found the Gulikit Zen Pro in Target which prompted me to look it up and find your video. To me the look exactly the same and by reading from their website they both have the exact same features. Have you hear of the GuliKit KingKong 2 Pro Controller and is it the same just branded different for Target or is there actually a difference ?
So I did some research afterwards to find out more about the brand. The Kong is the Xbox version of the controller and the Zen is the Switch version from what I have gathered. Frame and components seem to be the same, besides the face buttons moved around. When I made this video, I couldn't find any information on this variation of the controller at all. It's why I wasn't able to give any background information on it.
As far as I have found they are identical controllers. Only thing I can really think of being the difference is maybe a naming issue, maybe "King Kong" wont float in big box stores. But thats just an off the top of my head theory.

These seem like their kingkong 2 pro controller with updated name, manual, and colors. they also cut the price by $10 and have only brought it to target so far. I hope they resolved some of their QC issues because while none of it was too bad it just didn't make recommendations as easy.

That's what I wanted to know? What's the difference between the Zen Pro and the gulikit pro 2? I couldn't find any information on the Zen pro at all not even on Google so I kinda used my common sense and a little bit of instinct and guessed that the Zen Pro is probably a retail/Target Version of the guilikit pro 2. Can somebody correct me if I'm wrong?
If this is true or is the best thing guilikit ever did, smart move. I picked one up today
Just picked one of these up. Great controller. The price is a bargain IMO.
Close to the Xbox series controller, I would say it feels more like the elite controller (with a few less features) but over all an AMAZING!!! feel. This controller in your hands just screams quality and the rumble in this controller makes others look like cheap child toys. A 60-70$ price point vs 100-130$ price range is an easy win for those looking for a nice wireless replacement. Speaking of the wireless the latency is very low; Great responsiveness while playing smash. Would recommend as a nice B day or Christmas present for that gamer family member
I picked one of these up the other day and it has a huge issue where the ABXY buttons stop responding or "ghost activate" randomly.
Sadly, this controller hasn't been on the market long enough to know all the issues with it, but I'm starting to see a few more cons since I've done this video.

*Same sorta frame and components are used.*

My Opinions:
I find it weird that Gulikit calls these “changes” to be made for switch just by a name change, and removing the plastic travel case.
(the Zen may pair faster/better with the switch than the Gulikit, but I don’t rlly know)
If the pairing to the switch is better, I may get the Zen, but if not then I’d get the KingKong2 since I need the travel case.

Verdict:
It’s all really a matter of preference, Zen if you don’t need that travel case, and if going to target is more convenient than going online buying.

KingKong2 if you do need that travel case, and find online shopping more convenient.

Do you know how to fix the A button for the switch one? Mine sounds squeaky and it’s annoying but it works normal . It’s not the button because I took it out and put it on a different one (since it’s allowed) and it worked normal. It’s the little plus thing inside the controller that’s squeaky

You can add little oil that's safe to use in it. Many have done that, and you can search for a video on it. These face buttons are rated for 50 million clicks. Absolutely fantastic!

@@RedBandanaGaming I still like the pro controller the best. Something about the weight and the feel idk I’m weird lol. But right now they’re almost impossible to get. Out of stock everywhere. And the ones you can find are like 20-30 USD over retail.

Hi I’m new here but I just got the Zen Pro yesterday And I used it yesterday, I love it all lot. Nobody Else heard Zen Pro yet hopefully somebody else will review it too but you’re the only one that reviewed it so far so I’m guessing it’s brand new?
It is a new brand at retail. I looked up the manufacturer and they've been around for a short time, but hadn't made a Switch controller yet.
This controller still seems to be solid, but it's still very new. Time will tell if it lasts or not.

Thank you for getting back to me sorry for the delay and yeah I noticed that nobody’s talking about it yet because it’s a brand new switch controller and I got it yesterday and I love it so far I just hope it doesn’t drifted that’s my main thing why I wanted to get it because it says it wouldn’t drift the analog stick anymore. I've had no lag at all. It feels on par with pro.
Is there a way to remap the buttons and leave them in the default xbox? I used it on xcloud but the L and R buttons are on the Dpad, outside the xbox standard

You have to have it on the switch button then when you're on the pairing screen press the search button

That sounds like a defect. If you have a second Switch, try it on there and see if it does the same thing. If you don't have one, I would recommend returning it. That shouldn't be doing that at all.

There have been many issues with this controller from what I've heard at this point. It seems like I was lucky. It looks as if it might be a rushed product.
@@RedBandanaGaming Actually, i just needed to let it charge, and works pretty nice, what's odd is that at first it was actually showing full charge and then turned off, it's AOK now, hopefully it'll last, i even thought it might be my Switch.

Name changes concern me. Also, where's the programmable back buttons? For $10 more, the 8bitdo Ultimate BT has a charging dock, back buttons and a dongle adapter that can be used for other controllers. Nice try Gulikit, but too little, too late.

Gulikit has face buttons rated for 50 million clicks, easily replaceable too, and then the triggers are hall sensing too, while the 8bitdo one skips that.

@@RedBandanaGaming I bought one. Opened it up to look inside has 2 silver square weights screwed under backcover you can remove them with single philips i removed them to make it lighter. Can also remove the rumblers they unplug and just sit in slots.

Do it within the Switch's controller menu. You can customize all buttons from there.

It's done per game. Go into the menu for whatever game you are playing and turn it off there.

No, this is the Switch version. They have a different one for the Xbox. It's the King Kong.
Just picked one of these up at target. Feels great, I overall like it.
Edit: dunno if this a part of the controller, but whenever I push down on the A button for 2-3 seconds it gets stuck pressing down. Really annoying when playing rocket league. Everything else works fines, hopefully I can just break the controller in.

This controller is legit. Not sure why so much hate? Maybe they aren’t doing the necessary firmware update. I do admit, the instructions are TERRIBLE, so maybe it’s user error from misunderstood information.
It wouldn't be user error if the instructions are terrible. It would be manufacturer/instructor error.

Nope.
I've gone through two of these today after returning the first one and even after letting each charge for two hours, they don't pair via wireless, and when plugging them directly into the dock, it says "paired" on screen and then the controller turns off. Product is garbage, I'll be getting my money back.
I've been hearing so many mixed stories about these controllers since recording this. But when they are bad, they are REALLY bad. I don't blame you for returning them at all.
Update the CPU1 from their site. You also need to drop the NS09 firmware bin file

@@Sir_Tanooki_Dookie what really helped was just downloading the auto firmware updater you just put in that file and it works perfectly fine just had to figure out that the button under the cog button was what you need to press with A to get into file mode
I just bought a black one of these. I charged it over night. Though when I try pairing it with my Nintendo switch wirelessly, it won’t.
It’s fine when I have the controller plugged into the switch. But I’ve tried updating the controller on the switch settings and nothing.

If it isn't pairing right away or as easily as a pro controller, like mine did in this video, I'd just exchange it. It isn't worth the headache or hassle tbh.

I bought this and plan to return it. It does feel like a quality controller, but playing Smash Ultimate with it isn't the best. Too much hepatic feedback and I don't seem to have the same performance as I do with the Nintendo Pro controller.
Thats why you should adjust them (customize them to your liking)

Don’t buy this controller. I literally just bought it just strolling in target since I saw non drift on the box 30 minutes ago. Thought why not. It’s 65 dollars after tax. I just brought it home, hooked it up, and it WILL NOT pair. I have tried everything, wireless and usb. Nothing. It pops up “paired” on switch but will not actually be paired. In the video he paired it with no effort. My case has been the complete opposite unfortunately and I’ll be returning it now.

My mom bought me this controller for Christmas and I am being so serious when I say do not buy it. The firmware was outdated which I had to find out from another commenter on this video. The instructions are horrendous and don’t even mention where the APG button is. Then when I finally find the website the instructions on their were somehow even worse than in the pamphlet. I had to look up another tutorial just to decipher that crap. Then when I finally thought I did it and I downloaded the new firmware, THE CONTROLLER COMPLETELY SHUTS OFF AND WILL NOT LIGHT UP NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I PLUG IT UP. I have wasted so many hours trying to figure this out. Clearly I will be returning it and getting an actual Nintendo controller. Do not waste your time if you are not tech savvy.

I’m so livid bought this controller brand new at Target and it won’t work unless it’s wired what is the point of buying a new controller if I have to go thru leaps and bounds just to use it guess what no Computer either so I can’t even “update it” so absolutely stupid just get a regular pro controller save yourself the head ache
