I hate to hear the of the quality issues because this certainly tics all the boxes needed for a fully functioning non official switch controller. Its a tough spot to be as a consumer, I can't justify buying the official Nintendo Pro controller at $70 when it will just get stick drift eventually but I expect its quality will be great otherwise. Its a rock and a hard place for sure. It is quite odd that its so difficult for 3rd party switch controller makers can't seem to get the "home button wake" and NFC/Amiibo functionality into them. I might try picking one up from target and see if its decent enough to use. I had a wireless power A switch controller I loved (it had wake up function but no amiibo function though) but its gotten stick drift and needs to be replaced, so thats why I'm looking. Thanks for making this video to give us all the details!
Mobapad M6 HD is the pinnacle of joycon, and their M9 HD is the pro controller version. HD Rumble, NFC, gyro, rear mappable buttons, all of it. And the M6 HD has the best d-pad Ive ever used. Nailed 6 Zangief Pile Drivers in a row in Ultra Street Fighter II. Dpad is swappable with a rocker dpad. I LOVE it. I also have a Gulikit KK3 Max controller on the way, so Ill see how it compares.
I think you can't just switch out the buttons A/B and X/Y, because the shape underneath is a little different. I do play on PC mostly, and I saw Gulikit sell a seperate button set (NS32) with the letters in PC/XBOX configuration. Thanks for the review. I just stumbeld upon the Zen Pro when looking for the difference in USB dongles, but it's good to know they are the same as the KingKong Pro and what their strenghts and weaknesses are.
I just took the controller apart, and bent the plastic tabs a little on the buttons that stuck/squeaked, and it's been fine for over a year with no issues.
The zen pro is a Target exclusive, fyi. But yeah, quality control is wild on these. I exchanged mine 3 times before I landed on one that doesn't stick.
i have a king kong pro 2 and my buttons started sticking after a few days of buying it but i couldnt return it as i bought it from ebay so i kept using it anyway. after a few more days the buttons stopped sticking and they havent ever since and its been almost 2 years
i have one of those controllers but yesterday it completely stopped working the light dont work and the controller doesnt connect can someone pls tell me how to fix it?
The Blue one I got from Target had squeaky buttons, returned for a Black one and ended up being a great Switch Pro controller. Goku adapter requires hard wired Xbox/PS controller. I have a Skull n Co Bt adapter plugged into my Xbox controller for headset and or speaker use. Hard wired controller cannot do both and will require an additional controller with a similar setup.
Can you do a review on the wireless adapter for it and also check if there's a connection problem, Because I seen other videos and read in the comments where it says there was a connection problem but the reviewer never brought that up. Thank you
@@therandomencounter And I got the controller and the adapter today and haven't experienced any loss of service or connection when using the control. At least so far. And thank you for answering back. Now if it does mess up I wonder if it will work with the Brook wingman. Thinking I'm going to get that as a backup plan just in case. 🤔
Great video. I almost bought this yesterday but I saw consistent reviews about buttons getting stuck. I ended up getting nintendo pro controller again. I wanted an alternative to switch it up. U mentioned the ultimate, but what your thoughts compared to the 1st party pro controller?
How are the triggers on Gullykit for playing Forza....I was using 8bitdo ultimate Bluetooth for playing forza but the triggers could use a little more travel to them to make the experience better....I switched to using my Dual sense for Forza bc of that.... But I want hall effects sensor bc it wore out the left stick on 2 Xbox 1 controllers
I would like to see you test it with the xb brook, I am seriously thinking about getting that so I don't have to have the other controller plugged in. But make sure you take the battery out if you are using the name brand adapter of the controller. The Xbox controller keeps going to sleep and that's why it disconnects.
@@therandomencounter Just make sure if you use the adapter from the company, Make sure your battery is out of the controller that's plugged into the console or it will keep on cutting off or saying it's disconnected because the controller is going to sleep. I'm about to invest in the XB Brook adapter. Not sure if it's going to work but I'm pretty sure it does, And there's many controllers that's working for it that are not listed.
Hey dude you shure that the 8bitdo ultimate has hall effect triggers? I asked the support and they told me they were "Trigger - Conductive Rubber", aslo may I ask how long have you been using it?
Does the analogue triggers stay on when in Switch mode? I always hated that they act like the Switch's triggers for the Kingkong 2 in Switch mode, and it only acts like analogue triggers in X-box mode, and Gulikit does not say that the Kingkong has analogue triggers, but they do say that the Zen has analogue triggers,
So my main question is if i use the auto botton function, i understand it will record for 10 minutes, but will it only imput that for 10 minutes before you need to start it again?
I'm sorry I had to come back and share this. I don't pluck the controller out the front and it was working without it being plugged in. 😳 I never did a update to the controller or the adapter that you can buy for it, because I have a MacBook pro m1 that I don't run Windows on or have an emulation system for Windows yet. And it never disconnected not once. Maybe it memorized it after I took the battery out of the original Xbox controller figuring it won't go asleep and then I unplugged it hooking a USB hard drive in it for a short period of time trying to hook up a bing camera hard drive adapter and then unplugged it and accidentally touched my controller and it was still working and I switch games and it was still working and never disconnected Just like when I was playing the controller with the battery taken out. Maybe it had to learn it after a while I don't know. But I know it's all TH-camrs said the controller must be plugged in
I heard that the quality control isn't great for this controller. I'm interested in getting this controller, but that concerns me. How has anyone's experience here been with this controller? Do the buttons stick? Is there lag in gameplay? Are the analog sticks centered/off centered? Is the quality of this controller close to that of the Nintendo Pro controller? How is it in long term use? Sorry, I've never bought a 3rd party controller before, and this one draws my interest.
So I ended up returning the controller because it was taking to long to get the new face button switches. The quality feels sturdy but the actually quality control is a totally different thing. It seems that sticky buttons is common on this controller. I may end up buying another one later on. Target has a 14 day return policy so you can always buy one and swap it out if it is giving you issues. I personally would buy the 8bitdo Ulitmate Bluetooth controller.
@@therandomencounter Can you speak on your experience comparing the 8BitDo Ultimate vs KingKongPro2/Zen in terms of overall build and quality using it on the Switch and PC?
8bitdo Ultimate is heavier and the plastic is similar to what's used on a Xbox Series controller. Build quality is really good and nothing feels cheap. The Zen Pro controller is shaped like a Xbox Series controller and is build solid with nice metal rings around the thumbsticks that make it glide. The face buttons were the only thing I had issues with. The were sticky and felt to mushy. The triggers and everything else were solid. It's also very light which might make some people think it's cheap. Hope this helps!
I've been gaming since the SNES era and yes I haven't had stick drift on any of my controllers except the joy cons. I must be lucky! Thanks for watching!
@@therandomencounter You have to take the battery out of the controller that's plugged in and it won't disconnect. The battery is causing it to go to sleep or something. It's been working perfectly for me and hasn't done it ever again

By the way... The 8bit do does NOT have hall effect triggers !
i love mine. The the Purple one from target. It is not my goto controller for my nintendo. Have not had any stuck buttons the Zen Pro or KK 2 Pro.
A sticky button is super easy to fix. It is NOT a big deal. (I have the purple Zen Pro and never have had any problems with it).
Nice, you’re lucky you didn't have to deal with that!
how you solved the sticky button problem?
I had to ask for a replacement set of buttons from Gulikit themselves. It's the actual button switches that need replacing.
