    I just received my King Kong 2 and I love it. I agree that for a textured back, it does feel a little slippery, but boy those sticks are fantastic. You'd mentioned that you wish the triggers were more responsive: Click the cog and D-pad right or left, depending the on the trigger. BTW the wake up function does work.....if you do it right. It's a little convoluted and not instant. Press any of the letter buttons and while the 4 Power :LEDs are flashing, press the home button. Within 10-15 seconds it should vibrate and the Switch will wake properly. Like I said it's not fast and it's a little clunky, but it works. Thanks for reviewing this.

    Hello! I have the same controller, I just wanted to say something about how it didn't felt like true/real analog.
    I don't think Nintendo Switch games don't use analog triggers, perhaps that's why the controller's trigger didn't work as analog.
    I use my King Kong 2 Pro mainly for PC gaming but I use it for my Switch as well, and I have tested and calibrated it using a gamepad tester. The triggers are actually "real" analog, good for playing Forza, GTA V, Cyberpunk 2077, and other stuff. They're pretty accurate on the PC. But yeah, good video and review! Just wanted to say this as people might worry about the analog triggers.

    • @davidpeachey1837
      @davidpeachey1837 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I don't own this yet but yeah I'm pretty sure that's the case. Switch games just don't support analog triggers because the official controllers don't have analog triggers. But I've seen in other reviews that on Windows the triggers are analog with this controller

    • @einheisenburg
      @einheisenburg 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@davidpeachey1837 That's right. I would also like to say that the analog sticks are ridiculously accurate too! Has 0.5% to 0.6% Error. This is truly a great 3rd party controller.

    Initially when I saw "King Kong 2" on your twitter feed, I thought you were going to stream King Kong 2 on Famicom lol. It's a decent enough game, but King Kong doesn't seem very large. I just got these for my Switch. Maybe it's because I got used to the JoyCons (I've only had the Switch for a month or so) but the KK2 Pros are giving me some problems. One is the triggers, which I use for drifting, hopping, and items. They seem to lag for me. I am having to readjust all my drift and trick points because of them. The second is that I can not cut the corners as tight on my drifts. It just seems like they do not allow as tight a turning radius - may be a calibration issue? I love the feel of them, but play has been negatively affected. I also wish the vibration could be turned off permanently. It's a distraction for me in Mario Kart, and it keeps coming back on.

    Quick question, I see you use official emulators in your videos sometimes (mostly the Switch online things), and... how do you feel about unofficial emulators? Not emulators in clone consoles, things like Dolphin, mGBA, bsnes, RetroArch. You don't have to pirate roms from the interent, I think you might have the money to get ROM Dumpers and stuff like that. There's also stuff like the MiSTer FPGA project and the Retro AVS.
    (I recommend not buying Analogue's products, though. Analogue is known for bad customer support.)
    (edit, I should probably clarify something; the Retro AVS and Analogue's products are using FPGA emulation. Their selling point is that they use real carts. If you can wait until 2023 for the AVS and deal with Analogue's customer support.)

    • @RoXolid
      @RoXolid  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If you are playing digital files you created from physical games you own, I am cool with it. I am very anti-piracy, so if you're downloading ROMs & ISOs from the internet I am against that. I hope that answers your question

    no input delay measurements was made..........

    • @RoXolid
      @RoXolid  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Correct, was I don't have the tools to measure and if I don't feel it the measurement doesn't matter

    • @tamodolo
      @tamodolo 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RoXolid actually it does matter because the "feel" is a very subjetive way to describe anything as what you judge good can be bad for another. If you put a measured time that wont be subjetive and your audience will judge if that is good or not.
      As this controller have a switch mode, just use ds4win to see the input delay inside the edit options of the controller. It works both via USB and bt. For other controllers you need a software capable of reading the pool rate of the device.
      Again, this measurement will tell for sure if this controller will actually be a good one. So this is the most important info of the review. Example of this: sn30 pro +, that amazing controller 8bitdo make, is actually a very bad one as input delay is astounishing 33ms over bt. For comparison DS4 is just 1.6 ms

    • @RoXolid
      @RoXolid  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tamodolo that's kind of my point exactly, it's all extremely subjective. Some people are more sensitive to lag and latency than others. I also any measurements that I make, unless you are using my exact same television, capture card, HDMI cables, splitters, etc your results May vary. I have never, and at this point I have no intention to ever, do measured latency tests because they are extremely subjective as well

    • @tamodolo
      @tamodolo 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RoXolid I think you're confusing input lag with input delay of one device.
      Input lag is the sum of all delays combined while input delay of one device is just the measured pool rate of it.
      The input delay is measured throught the update frequency used by that device. It is also called pooling rate. As this controller have a switch mode, DS4Win will read it in that mode and the configuration submenu will show you the time in ms.
      The input delay is very important to know because it adds to the input lag. And is fairly easy to measure. You just need to connect the controller to your PC and open a software that reads the pooling rate of it. Do it for bt and USB connection.
