Pilot.. Awsm vid ! I actually missed the part where the ribb cables were damaged, was that the only thing that was damaged, I just received my pro platinum as my first drone. The camera (I think is what's called the gimbal) freaks me out how it swings around wildly, makes me worried about jarring it if I had simular misfortune. I will say.. seeing that you are brave enough to take on something like this should tell everyone they can do this too ! I fly rc planes for a living, I should have done this long before now ! Does look like a fun time. Thanx digital guy.

Speed threw the part i needed......
Got a compass error while taking pictures of my family, no where near any magnetic interference. Took off to the east towards some trees, crashed, and fell 15 feet to the ground. The right front strut broke off along with the gimbal being completely inoperable. I still get video feed from it though. What could be causing the issue?
Oh god, I have this operation coming soon 😭 Not sure what's even broken, but the video is shaky and vibrating. Maybe some cable broken. I thought I buy refurbished gimbal from amazon and also new vibration plate. I think tge refurbished gimbal has video cable and the other cable installed. I don't know what is the easiest way to do it. Or maybe just replacing the cables to my own gimbal? 🤔
I replaced my ribbon cable with a new one. I met started well and I was happy it worked. Unfortunately, after flying for 20min, the same gimbal motor overload issue reappeared. And the gimbal gets hot really fast, only after starting the drone for 30sec it’s already very hot. I opened the gimbal again and tried fixing the ribbon cable. But it didn’t help. Any idea what else I could do? Replace the whole gimbal? Buy another ribbon cable from another company? Thanks

I appreciated your video. I did not appear to have any broken cables just the gimbal mounting plate. When I reassembled and turned on the humble appeared to move properly at first but then smoke appeared from under the right front ( with drone facing forward) of the top cover. Any ideas of what to look for?

Good work. However, you didnt showed that part where you changed the ribbon cable. i had the exact same issue and i wanted to see how you fix the connectors of the ribbon cable back. Do we need to put the glue back in place on the connectors?. The issue i am facing is that the gimbal is not stablizing after replacing the ribbon cable

Thank you so much for this thorough and detailed video. It helped give me the confidence to successfully tear my Mavic apart and replace the vibration plate. Great editing, zoom, lighting, and overall content! Did you ever have issues with either of the two front collision avoidance connectors coming loose, since you didn't glue them back down?
You're very welcome! I didn't have any issues with the front sensor connectors but I did end up with the 2 screws that hold the gimbal onto the vibration plate coming loose... I wouldn't try over tightening them but I would be sure to add a little extra loctite. Good luck!

Glad to see this back up but in this new one the audio is clipping and distorting yo. Gotta watch them levels.
*edit* actually I never noticed before but the audio in a few of your videos is clipping due to the loudness. Probably because this is the first time I've watched them with a pair of my better cans.
Thanks! This case is probably because I deleted the movie project so it was compressed once, then the audio added again/modified, then recompressed, then uploaded to youtube and compressed again.
Also I could use a better microphone probably - I always feel like the voice overs end up super quiet so I push the levels on them.
Either way I appreciate you watching and commenting! One of these days I'll figure it out haha

DJI has the worst customer service EVER. finally they send my controller back "fixed" and it drifted while hovering into a tree and crashed, never crashed a drone before. hopefully I can self repair the gimbal from this video.

I crashed and only the ribbon cable appeared to be cut.
Replaced my gimbal ribbon, still no gimbal movement. Error in app says camera sensor issue. Replaced the transmission cable. Still same error. Did you ever have a problem with the video feed not showing in the DJI app when you re-installed a few times?
Other than sending the drone back to DJI i'm running out of things to replace!

Only if the black flat wire is broken is there a chance of losing the image of the camera too. .? My Mavic crashed .. plz reply
The black flat wire is the gimbal motor control wire, the video is the silver multi-cable looking wire.
What Phillips screw driver did you use to take the camera lens off of the actual silver/gray control arm?
