Fuuuk this was a sick video. I swear this channel is hella under appreciated, the topics you cover are top notch and super applicable. Thanks for sharing!
i dont mean to be off topic but does anybody know a method to get back into an instagram account? I somehow lost my login password. I would love any tips you can offer me.
@Brayan Colin I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Some people actually pull sumo w passive thoracic rounding. So like a little curved over beyond neutral in the flexed position. When your too extended it makes it hard to wedge into the bar and break the floor. Also if u start to overly extended you’ll only go to a more flexed position while you start the pull waisting strength on readjusting.
Lot of good observations and tips, especially to avoid pinching the shoulders back, which is how I was trained decades ago. A pause deadlift is a good suggestion for those returning to lifting (like myself), and which I use during warmup squats. I wonder if cossack squats might help with training, especially proprioception, for sumo DLs? (re: increasing mobility and hip strengthening)
Man! U got some videos that seem tailor made for me lol. I just failed on a heavy sumo deadlift and you're 100% right, I let my back go into flexion rather than extension, from the beginning, my chest wasnt out enough, and I got soo close to locking it out but just couldnt finish it even with a few seconds of grinding lol. Will definitely have to focus on keeping my chest out. I have a very long back and short arms so I suck at deadlifts but still got alot more potential I think.
Fantastic takeaways from this one, Papa Prime. I'm definitely gonna be putting an emphasis on the chest past delts cue and focusing on driving knees out as the pull progresses as my femurs are lanky af. Thank you for consistently putting out valuable content.
Man you videos are amazing i wont ask you for a video but just a tip from you would be awesome i love using your hip scoop technique (conventional) but i have trouble keeping my lats tight while driving my hips back and in again i loose tightness some help ?
Yeah mee too i tend to lose that tight ness in my back when i shoot my hips up to so that hip shoot wedge you teach also i always hit my knees ?!? When i try you way of deadlifting thats what kept me from really doing it
I really like this video, very helpful for sure! 🙏🏻 I was just wondering tho... how could you implement this at a correct time using you and Kristin’s method of pulling the slack out of the bar? If you could do a video or instagram story/post on that, that would be awesome! Thanks for being you 💪🏻💪🏻
This made me think but what about really holding your ribs down and using your serratus, really rounding on time. David whoolson and Sean Noriega would fall in this group. Genuinely curious because it’s confusing hearing different stuff
I wasn’t trying really hard to have coherent sentences. I meant rounding upper back and keeping loose but fight for extension once you break floor. I also watched David Woolsons recent dl video again, it basically says that^
In regards to the last point, is there anything wrong with putting more demand on the quad breaking the floor ? What if I have really developed quads ?
Ladies and gentleman.. I will always be first.

Wow! Mind blown 🤯 with the amount of detail that you put into this. Well done
You broke this down really well! Was able to apply in my pulls this week. Everything felt more in line and upright!
Helpful video...def gonna be my sumo checklist everytime I pull.
Can’t wait to try these tips. Great vid keep up the good work
For some reason I never watched any vids on how to sumo until now and after watching this I did a set and felt my quads activate 100 fold
" Im not a sumo puller, I pull sumo like 600" ……
😂
