    Amazing helmet. When I first put this lid on, I was extremely impressed. Huge FOV and great self tinting shield. VERY light and comfortable. And I never saw a reason for a pin lock as I've never had a fogging issue like I've had on my AGV's. It's not the quietest helmet, but all the other features make up for it

    I got this helmet last winter and it's amazing compared to my cheapish $100 zox modular helmet. During the winter with all the vents closed I didn't fog up at all. This helmet does work my prescription glasses. My only issues with wearing glasses with this helmet might just be my problem because my glasses are smaller/flexible. If I had a pair of glasses that weren't so bendable there wouldn't be any issues whats so ever. Having the helmet for this long now, I've gotten use to it so no problems

    • @cyclegearguide1493

      Thanks for your insight! I don't wear glasses (yet) so I can't speak to the functionality with glasses. Being able to see while riding/wearing a helmet is a pretty big deal in my opinion! Thanks again for your comments, be safe!

    You dont need the pinlock, its coated and mine has never steamed up. Pinlock looses the clarity of vision anyway. The Protint is the best visor I have ever used.

    I have the flex version although I don’t think it’s the same as this because it doesn’t have speaker cut outs. I wear glasses and had to cut off part of the cheek padding; otherwise it’ll pinch the frames into your temples and cause headaches. No regret on owning it and although not quite “as comfortable” as my old Shoei (1200) it’s still one of my favorites.

    • @renerodrigue3471
      @renerodrigue3471 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is a really comfortable helmet, although I hate that you would have to cut out any padding to make it work with glasses since that is a pretty standard thing for helmets. Thanks for the comment!

    I ride two naked bikes both heavily on track. I recently bought an Arai Corsair-x and as much as i love it it just doesn't fit me. I find it pressing uncomfortably close to my mouth. I've got a Pista GP RR as well but would like the second helmet to also work as a street helmet. would you say this helmet would fit better. I honestly would just go shoei x14 because i loved my rf1200 so much but theres been so much chatter on this that I feel I should give it a go.

    • @cyclegearguide1493
      @cyclegearguide1493  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So, I ordered a Pista Gp RR but the size was so small I couldn't get it on my head! I haven't gotten the next size up just yet so I can't speak to it. I am going to review the Arai soon but haven't yet. Between the DLX Flex and the RF1400 I would go with the bell. Both were great, in my opinion, with the edge in venting going to Shoei. The Bell fit even better and the photochromic shield comes standard. I liked the profile of the Bell more also but either option I feel would more than fit the bill for you. Best of luck, be safe!

    Bought this helmet a few days ago and it had an amazing fit until I installed a sena system.. I removed the speaker port covers but the speakers still protrude enough to give me jaw/ear pain especially when removing the helmet.. any idea why or what would cause that? Also gotta add even in the rain the face shield doesn’t fog up.

    • @cyclegearguide1493
      @cyclegearguide1493  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh man, I hate to hear that it’s not working well with your Sena speakers. It’s hard to believe that the speakers would be thick enough to cause those issues but I hear you. I haven’t tried the Race Start with speakers but it seems like that’s what I need to start covering in my reviews. I would reach out to Bell and see if they have had other complaints with this issue and I’ll check it out myself and let you know what I find out. Good luck, be safe!

    I got mine today, I ordered a large which is supposed to be 59-60cm, my head is 58.5cm around and this helmet was way too snug, giving me pressure all over and pushing my cheeks up way too much. quite disappointing as now I have to wait probably several weeks for a replacement and not even sure an XL will fit properly now.

    • @cyclegearguide1493
      @cyclegearguide1493  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh man! I hate to hear that. I ran into the same tire of thing when I tried the AGV Pista GP Replica, I couldn’t even get it down on my head! I used the sizing chart and ordered the size that I fell into. And at $1500 I was not very happy and I didn’t get the size up because of the disappointment. At some point I will but I was expecting something different. Best of luck, be safe!
