That was the most wild episode yet, with a full party atmosphere for the new year. Congratulations on getting the chance to experience this, and thanks as always for sharing. 😋
Looks like a lot of fun! Assuming you made a tableall request well in advance - can I ask when it got confirmed? I heard a few friends getting it when requesting it either 6 months in advance or super last minute but might throw my hat in the ring too.
Correct! I put in the request on April 29, 2024 and was confirmed on October 30th. In my case, I highly recommend requesting well in advance! Good luck!
Looks awesome! ❤ Now being a fan of Hermes, and there beautiful silk scarf… I hope it was not a real Hermes scarf,,, just breaks the heart 😢 Blessings!
I was really shocked when the scarf was being cut too! But it needed to be cut so the chef could use it for his signature Hermes headband look, so it wasn't wasted at all! 😄
@@jennyfoodtravelsEnjoy Hokkaido! Are you going to Tokyo after? When is your next trip? To be really honest in the past year I’ve been to Takamitsu-san multiple times including the Yakatabune but I still prefer other sushiyas when push come to shove. Would be interesting to hear your thoughts once you’ve tried more restaurants!
Not gonna lie, I was worried when the theme of the restaurant was "extravagant Parisian luxury", because that's often a facade that tries to hide subpar food under a shimmering banner, but...that looked as awesome as it was supposed to be! I feel like I should downplay your excitement in the rating (New Year's Eve, people are more inclined to be festive, how many shots and champagnes?, everything is awesome, etc.), but nope, you were properly enthused. I can see why that was so expensive (how many uni courses without the over the top $45K uni and the Singapore uni? Caviar and truffles applied properly to influence flavor instead of seeming like a marketing ploy? The choicest parts of the best caught tuna? WHALE??!!?? Baby eel, filefish liver, the list goes on) and it looks like you got your money's full worth. A complete tour of the Japanese Pacific, from bottom to top, with ocean views! I've seen a lot of your reviews and this one is tops in terms of fish selection, preparation, intention, and execution. I'm not Japanese, so I know it's unlikely I'll ever get lucky enough to be in that kind of tasting, but thank you for showing us what the cream of the crop is supposed to look like so we can gauge how close our local restaurants are getting. Many bows!!
Thank you for watching! The chef's robe and the restaurant's wall were actually really clean. And the uni itself already cost more than what I paid for the meal so I have to say it was quite worth it!
The ingredients were 👍 however, the cutting of the scarf was just needless and wasteful. The H shaped Negitoro was cringe. The Uni was 7 million Yen for the whole 350g tray. Roughly $200 AUD per gram.

Defintely the most wild omakase and the best way to celebrate new year haha! Your constant support means the world to me! 🥰
Absolutely bookmarking this. The whole restaurant vibe is so fun and warm.
Absolutely must go! You'll have so much fun!
Looks like you had a blast! Happy New Year 🎉 and thanks for the recommendations. I have added this to my list of omakase restaurants to try 😅
Happy New Year to you too! 🎉 I hope you get to try it! You'll love it!
Thanks for sharing & it was absolutely special, this was my first long youtube video enjoy every second 😋😛
I'm so happy you enjoyed every second! 💖

The Whale meat...

It was not specified, but most whale served in Japan is the Sperm Whales
@jennyfoodtravels
How whale meat taste like?
oh my you made it there
Right! I was so excited when I got the reservation!

@@jennyfoodtravelssincerely hoping it was a copy scarf, and not original! 😂
just said 'holy shit' out loud when I saw that uni - the $380 price included everything? thats cheaper than most 2 stars in NYC, crazy!
Right! My eyes widened and I thought 'WHAT! 7 million?!' Yes! $380 included everything! Well, except the drinks I ordered
The vibe seems more Gucci than LV but it seems like everyone's in on it and is having fun.
It was so fun indeed!
Nice video! Was this an invite from friends? I’m glad that you’re in the big leagues now! When are you next in Japan?
Not invite, just a very lucky reservation! Definitely wish I was in the big leagues haha. I'm in Hokkaido actually!

was half expecting lil baby to be playing in the background
That would've been interesting haha
It was actually 1,500,000 yen for that white truffle almost making it 10k USD!
OMG! That's even more crazy! Thank you for clarifying!
Krug Grand Cuvée? He’s talking my language.
A very yummy language 🥂
And you are lucky not having to pay an extra 200,000 yen for add ons for this uni 😂😂
Actually! That costs more than what I paid for the meal! 🤣

It truly is the best! I'm not Japanese, but I got lucky so you might just be able to snatch up a reservation too! Don't give up!
Is there a vegetarian option? 😂
Haha unfortunately not 😂
Thanks for the video. But his dirty robe and dirty walls are no way worth what you paid. Seems like a scam 5:27

I wouldn't call it wasteful, as the chef actually does use it on a daily basis, so it's actually useful instead of wasteful 👍🏻
