thanks for the info, i wouldn't have known about the fan/cable linking together or the led strip pin matching with the black line, just purchased some aer2 rgb fans and led strips, thanks for explaining everything so well :)
I completely overlooked the cable that was the proper Out. Your video is great! I looked at so many videos that skipped the plugging in parts, which is the most important .They were so consumed with just appearing on their video and talking without showing anything. Thank you so much.
You were so informative and quick to the point! Thank you. I was even in the motion to google if the old hue+ even works with the new controller and you literally answered the question the second I got my phone out of my pocket. Great content!
Most helpful video for the RGB fans that I have ever seen. I spent hours trying to figure it out and watch other videos and this is the one that ended up helping me out
Awesome video. I bought these fans a while ago and I couldn’t get the leds to work so I bought the hue + controller and that didn’t work out either. So I came here and saw your video. Now my fans and leds are working. Thank you man 🙏
Solid video but sadly my problem is not addressed here. I'm replacing stock fans with one NZXT AER RGB2 120mm and two NZXT AER RGB2 140mms. Currently running a NZXT Kraken liquid cooler which is staying put. Motherboard is an MSI B450 Tomahawk Max. I've hooked up everything correctly as far as I can see. I have 2 USB2.0 spots near the bottom of the motherboard, with the liquid cooler already using one of them. This RGB and Fan Controller uses the one next to it. Power is hooked up correctly and all three fans are daisy chained properly as per the instructions. When I boot up the computer, all fans spin to life and the RGB lights on the fans glow white. All good so far. Problem is none of them show up inside the Cam Software when I boot it up so there is no way to adjust them or do anything with them. Tried simple things like unplugging the USB to the motherboard, stopping the Cam software in Device Manager and restarting it there. I've even uninstalled and reinstalled the Cam software. I'm kind of at a loss! Anyone have any suggestions here? Thanks!!
Most helpful vids. Other vids tell us what to do and show bits and pieces but it can be confusing for newer PC builders. The point that i found helped the most was when you had just the mobo, controller and fan cords so I was able to visually see exactly where each COMPLETE part goes, instead of those vids where they only show sections of each component.
I was too worried of potentially frying the fans by connecting them on motherboard directly. The correct way is to use that Internal USB header to connect to the device. This video helped a lot. Thank you!
Thanks, that was also fun to try and make, I added some yellow stickers on the screen to track it so that I could apply the video onto it, work surprisingly well :)
Really appreciate the video. I grabbed all the hardware myself thinking i understood what i was doing, I saw that when my RGB controller arrived it didn't have the 4 prong that i now know goes into the RGB strips. I panicked. But you've put me back on the right path, super simple and easy to understand. Just going to be a nightmare to cable manage this shit. Thanks again.
That is the connection cable that came with the strips - its what goes into the controller. The led strip pack comes with one of those and a extension cable also (a cable that connects between two strips). The fan bundle also comes with a cable that connects a the led strip, so a fan and led strip can be chained.
Do both fan power cables (if I choose to plug them into the motherboard and I decided to have them chained) can I only plug in one fan and the 2nd one gets power cause of the chain? Or do both power cables for both fans have to get plugged in and the chaining is only for RGB. Also great guide!
Ive got a question! I see you used both RGB outputs, one for the fans and one for the strips. You connect the strips starting from the controller to the strips and then I saw you connect your last strip to something aswell to create a loop. (if im correct) To what do you connect to finish the loop? Since if I recall correctly its a specific plug, at the moment I cant think of a connector to plug it into. I may be completely off here and maybe im incorrect and the strips doesnt need to be connected to something on the end of the strip.
Great tutorial. I have my controller in my PC. Fans are moving and the LED's are white. When I go into CAM, it doesn't even see the LEDS at all. Nothing listed. Any ideas?
Thanks for the vid, Quick question.. do you need the controller or anything else other than the fans if you just want a plain white colour? I want to keep everything simple. Thanks!
Hi! Very detailed video on the NZXTs components!👍Question, will we harm our motherboard or other parts (hdd/memory) when we stick the magnets onto our case?
Love the vid! But quick question… the cable that is coming out of the fan when it comes out of the box, do we not plug that in if we use a chain and a fan hub?
Yeah, you can use one of the fan-splitters that come with the controller - just be aware that both fans connected to the fan-splitter will run the same speed.
@@MrGarfi I had this issue on a client's build and I got em powered but there was no splitter for the rgb connector so they were powered but no lighting until we get another hub
