    Solid video but sadly my problem is not addressed here. I'm replacing stock fans with one NZXT AER RGB2 120mm and two NZXT AER RGB2 140mms. Currently running a NZXT Kraken liquid cooler which is staying put. Motherboard is an MSI B450 Tomahawk Max. I've hooked up everything correctly as far as I can see. I have 2 USB2.0 spots near the bottom of the motherboard, with the liquid cooler already using one of them. This RGB and Fan Controller uses the one next to it. Power is hooked up correctly and all three fans are daisy chained properly as per the instructions. When I boot up the computer, all fans spin to life and the RGB lights on the fans glow white. All good so far. Problem is none of them show up inside the Cam Software when I boot it up so there is no way to adjust them or do anything with them. Tried simple things like unplugging the USB to the motherboard, stopping the Cam software in Device Manager and restarting it there. I've even uninstalled and reinstalled the Cam software. I'm kind of at a loss! Anyone have any suggestions here? Thanks!!

    Most helpful vids. Other vids tell us what to do and show bits and pieces but it can be confusing for newer PC builders. The point that i found helped the most was when you had just the mobo, controller and fan cords so I was able to visually see exactly where each COMPLETE part goes, instead of those vids where they only show sections of each component.

    • @MrGarfi
      @MrGarfi  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is the connection cable that came with the strips - its what goes into the controller. The led strip pack comes with one of those and a extension cable also (a cable that connects between two strips).
      The fan bundle also comes with a cable that connects a the led strip, so a fan and led strip can be chained.

    Do both fan power cables (if I choose to plug them into the motherboard and I decided to have them chained) can I only plug in one fan and the 2nd one gets power cause of the chain? Or do both power cables for both fans have to get plugged in and the chaining is only for RGB.

  • @lwv52
    @lwv52 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Ive got a question! I see you used both RGB outputs, one for the fans and one for the strips. You connect the strips starting from the controller to the strips and then I saw you connect your last strip to something aswell to create a loop. (if im correct) To what do you connect to finish the loop? Since if I recall correctly its a specific plug, at the moment I cant think of a connector to plug it into.
    I may be completely off here and maybe im incorrect and the strips doesnt need to be connected to something on the end of the strip.

I’ve been searching months ago for a video explaining how to daisy chain and etc, but no luck. Thanks for your video. I have a question about the fans. FYI, careful at @2:50 - if you have the NZXT AER RGB 2 fans like OP does, do NOT plug the fan power/rgb connection into your motherboard. Daisy chain the rgb cables between fans, and connect the first fan in the chain back to the NZXT controller. Your MOBO potentially puts out higher voltage to the fans than the 5v on the controller. I did this at first myself and ended up frying my fan rgbs. (I troubleshooted everything after the fact - and this is the only explanation left. Confirmed this has happened to others too. Now I'm waiting for replacements) Unless someone has a better idea as to why, I'm open ears :) Great vid otherwise!

      what If I have Kraken z53 rgb that has its own hub and I dont have just the NZXT controller?

    When you daisy chain the scans do you all need to plug all the fans into a fan header

    Thanks for the video... I will working on the same setup this weekend. Question: I have NZXT 510i, do I still need to have the RGB&Fan Controller? or the V2 controller come with the case will do? Thanks!

      Are you 100% sure the V2 controller that comes with H510i will be able to control AER?

    • @MrGarfi
      @MrGarfi  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @AM93000 Check the NZXT homepage - they can handle the AER but they have to run on their own channel, so they cannot be chained with AER 2.

    I saw that you put a cable in the output of the last fan when you were explaining the connections. Where does that connect to?

    • @MrGarfi
      @MrGarfi  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Was it the cable at 2:07? That was a cable that you can use to chain s LED strip to the fans.

    • @cadecunningham2208
      @cadecunningham2208 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MrGarfi I’m not sure if your talking about the same one but you started connecting it around 2:02 in the video. It was right before you cut to the led strips.

    • @MrGarfi
      @MrGarfi  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah that is the 500mm Fan-to-Accessory Cable (Its included with the fan) - so a cable to chain the fans with the LED strips.

      @@MrGarfi ok thanks. So if wasn’t using any rgb strips would I not put anything into the output and end it there or would I link it back into the Hue 2 controller? Thanks for answering all of my questions btw.

      @@cadecunningham2208 Yeah exactly the out port on the last fan would then just be empty. And no problem :)
