It was the first thing I noticed unfortunately. I love the compact frame and the flow front panel... but man they need to step it up. Someone suggested in the comments to apply some adhesive rubber pads to remove vibrations: it would work and make sure to apply some to the front as well since that rattles under full fan speed on my H5 Flow :( -D.
@@HardwareCanucks yeahh, had the H5 in my cart before I saw this video but looks like I’m going with the 4000D, which definitely will be a better choice I think!

Still rocking the same white s340 since 2015. Very difficult to beat its build quality and minimalist design. It still looks good, even with the acrylic side window.
You can usually add 1/32” or 1/16” thick neoprene rubber strips to the side of the case where it meets the side panel to take up that slop/gap that allows the side panel to rattle. I’ve done it on numerous cases where the side panel doesn’t fit super tightly.
Yeah that's a cheap solution for sure. Also apply some to the front dust filter because something was rattling there at full fan speed when I was testing the temps. -D.
The NZXT H510i is still my favorite case I’ve owned and built in. Even if it’s a bland hot box, it’s still so damn clean looking to stare at and show off your components.

Will stick with the Corsair ecosystem now
My NZXT H440 taught me, and taught me well- aesthetics & a cool waterloop means nothing if the case itself is suffocating even pressure-optimized fans with aggressive speeds. It just bottlenecks the rest of the build itself for thermals. Go mesh. Always Mesh. If you had an H440 on hand I'd love to see a comparison video and you can view just how bad it used to be (it'd top the chart of everything else in this video easily) lmao, still they're bad now with their front glass panels, but with offerings that allow mesh- it's atleast a lazy albeit alternative solution for a case manufacturer.
It annoys me that a lot of case reviews do not load up the case with fans for temperature testing, its a case, you need to put the rest of the system in it, including the fans.
Case comparisons need to be made either using the stock configuration or with a standard setup (usually 2 front and 1 rear). Custom configurations can't be compared and have no real value unless you use the exact same parts.

That would be a dream come true! I'd also like to see testing of the top filter on vs off. I've always thought they were just a useless restriction, especially since so many cases have gone to a filterless front intake.
I have no clue why no reviewer on TH-cam doesn't have a consistent testing methodology (wattage of the CPU and GPU so it won't matter so much if you change the model over the years) and a case with the absolute smartest/maximum Fans tested for each system. A true apples to apples for components, and apples to oranges for the cases fans.
@@analogicparadox No they don't. They don't maximize a cases potential. They standardize one test, and run another test with just the stock setup: they don't do a true comparison of a cases maximum potential; honestly because it'll take dozens of hours to do it with some cases.

Love GN reviews, but now it seems that for Steve a mesh front panel is the only thing to consider. It's not. Thanks Dmitry for this! Do more case reviews like you used to do!
It's worse than you think... if you want to add extra fans, and have them match what comes with the elite case, and you want 3 intakes, 3 outputs, as you should... the hub that comes with the case only supports 3 fans. And it's USB powered. If you want to add 3 more fans , you get another 3 fan hub in the fan kit, which is also USB powered. There's only one usb2.0 port on motherboards. So not only are the 3 extra fans very very expensive, compared to corsair or cooler master or bequiet equivalent fans, but you also need a very expensive proprietary nzxt 6 fan rgb hub, which costs almost the same as the case itself. Or a usb2.0 splitter, which again, is extra money and adds to cable clutter, needing 2 hubs and a USB splitter, in a case that has a "bottom fan shroud" taking up all the space for a hard drive rack or extra cable space.. Corsair cases , for example, come with 6 fan rgb hubs in all their rgb cases. As it should. Also that gpu angled fan is a pure gimmick. It has zero improvement over 3 120mm front intake fans like on the h510 or corsair 4000d

I watched a video about this on OC3D and althoigh the fan didn't seem to do much I still think nice one to NZXT for trying something different. We need to see more innovation in cases.
Wow the build quality of this case is rough for nearly $100. I just recently got the H7 Flow ($130), and it feels like a premium enough case, especially when it comes to the side panels. It also has an extra USB port, and support for 360mm on top and 420mm in the front, much better than this case. I’d definitely spend the extra $30 for the H7 Flow
I knew something felt off when I built in mine. I remember how premium the build quality was on my S340 elite and thought I was gonna get the same with the H510 Flow. Good thing I got it at a lower price than what it launched at as I can't imagine paying that much for build quality that doesn't feel too far off so many cheap cases now. Seems that this trend will continue with the H5 onwards. It's just not the same anymore w/ NZXT.
I actually have a 140 (stuffed I'll admit) in that bottom location in a family PC. It started life as an older cyberpower prebuild (onyx mid tower case or something) so it came with wrongly oriented fans and no airflow potential generally speaking. Once my old 9900k ended up in there that case was a toaster. I started with a back panel cut to get the two 120 intakes real air access, but that wasn't enough. Removing the drive bays and putting an upward facing 140 right below them definitely did the trick though. I'm sure this causes too much turbulence, but the performance is so much better that I've never needed to explore internal ducting/guides. It works (in some cases) in other words. The case hasn't been so much as warm to the touch since then, and definitely not throttling and getting hot to the touch like it was previously. It works well enough that I switched to a noctua (d-15) cooler to take advantage of it, and the CPU temps are improved over the 240 aio it had before.
This is a great case, and it is not too flimsy. When I am gaming I don't hear the case rattling or whatever. It not like I'm taking it into war or whatever. It does the job of a case and looks great! This is just a dumb review and not worth anymore content from this channel. Down vote.
Horrible "review". For example, he showed his uneven floor to mock the cabinet, that stupidity makes no sense, because i doubt he's a fool. He's simply taking revenge for something. Anyway, it seems that this channel is more dedicated to sponsoring products and not really reviewing
I like my 510 Flow mostly because of the two tone so I’m disappointed that’s gone? Worth noting as many don’t comment on this: with the 510 flow (and I assume with this and that same bracket design) you can do a 240mm push/pull with the rad and pushers up front ahead of the of the bracket. They fit between that and front of case! I love it and looks great inside. I don’t think that 2014 number is right even if you’re stretching the definition of the H500…
For years I’ve had a 140mm case fan pointed at the back of my graphics card, whether there’s a backplate or not, temps improve significantly, I mean for such a simple thing, your memory temps will definitely come down, GPU 3-5C depending on your situation
I rememmber old good days when fanhub did not use rpm and used 12V, 7,5V and 5V was so good to have a switch on front panel to make it run faster or slower so simple.
I have two NZXT cases, one being an OG Flow that came with an NZXT BLD pc that I snagged when they were offering a hefty discount on Black Friday. I would say they are both nice cases but the other Flow that I got with that BLD pc about a year ago is kinda cramped to work in, and the single top fan did kinda annoy me. Ultimately the build stays pretty cool with a front mount rad with two 140, and then a top and rear fan. Now a side note, NZXT BLD was initially a decent experience and they worked to troubleshoot the issues I ran into with games crashing. Eventually though I was talking to someone knowledgeable I met through Evolve and we ended up checking the PSU, and realized it was the same model that GN had found out was a fire hazard (I regret not paying more attention), I tried to get in touch with NZXT but after no response in 24hrs I ordered a EVGA 850w and once that I arrived I pulled all the Gigabyte cables and the PSU and installed the EVGA one. Unfortunately my luck was kinda terrible, had bad coil whine and had to RMA that one...BUT once all of this was done, and a proper undervolt applied to my 3080 FE everything was smooth and temps have been great besides one odd day where things got into the 80c range and I was seeing oddly high usage numbers so I restarted everything and it was back to normal. Thanks to the fact I have some experience with building my own PC, and a few friends I managed to stay afloat, but NZXT BLD is targeted at people who might not be able to manage the way I did...I think I am done with NZXT as a brand. PS. Only reason I purchased a BLD is my old rig was starting to get really long in the tooth, and getting a 3080 at a reasonable price was stupid hard at the tine. I had priced out a build on Newegg, but using an MSRP GPU price in that equation and then the next day the notification popped that NZXT had this FAT discount, and it put the build within 100 USD of the one I had hoped to piece together.
My first custom PC case ever was an NZXT Phantom 410 and to this day it's one of my favorite designs. I really don't get why NZXT went from really sleek and stylish curved/angular designs to just plain poorly made boxes
Perfect review, thank you for this high quality content! It would be interesting if the new RGB fans get that yellow like the old ones over time.. Really annoying for my Aer RGB 2 fan setup. :(
To this day, I still have my CiT Sauron case and I am just plain happy with it. xD I get why one would spend quite a lot of money on a case but for the most part it seems really wasted for me. However, the review was really good. :D You guys are my go-to for tech stuff lately. Keep up the good work!
thank's man, you really answered all my doubts. i was wondering is if was that good or if this was just a trend, and i think i should rather stick with my h500 for now
I've been looking to upgrade my rig, but can someone explain why the hell case prices have almost doubled in the last 3 years since i last looked? Cases I used to be able to find for £80 are now listed for £120-30-40+, this is crazy.
I prefer to go for full glass case like lian li o11 dynamic or Hyte Y60 rather than the old classic pc cases like H5, Which blocks all sides with metal panels. Glass panels give better looking and clean for RGB parts.
Man, if only someone had thought of putting fans in a PC case that blew air directly onto the GPU. Seems like the front panel would be a good candidate for that, right? Oh wait.....
Or the side panel. Or the floor of the case if the PSU is somewhere else. Thinking about the direction of that angled fan, wouldn't it catch the air coming in from the lower front fan and push that air upwards, away from the GPU?
Thank god .. just thinking about getting it ... Corsair 4000d or phanteks g360 or be quiet 400dx are better imo ... There are deepcool cases as well which looks good
Honestly you should check out the Thermaltake Divider 370 if you haven't since it is a great case that i am using now which i actually love it over the Lancool II Mesh.
Hoping the H5 would be exactly same as H7, just smaller. That would be good. No 140mm top is wasted space. GPU cutout is gone, big feature I like and gpu fan is not gonna do much at all when front fans are installed.

Anyway, it seems that this channel is more dedicated to sponsoring products and not really reviewing
bought a P500A 2 years ago and still works great
I like my 510 Flow mostly because of the two tone so I’m disappointed that’s gone?
Worth noting as many don’t comment on this: with the 510 flow (and I assume with this and that same bracket design) you can do a 240mm push/pull with the rad and pushers up front ahead of the of the bracket. They fit between that and front of case! I love it and looks great inside.
I don’t think that 2014 number is right even if you’re stretching the definition of the H500…
Hardware Canucks make the best most detailed case reviews! 🤩
Dmitry always does the best case reviews!
Dmitry is the man, I always trust his reviews.
The 500/510 to 5 jump makes a lot more sense lol. Looks like it was mostly a cost-cutting model...
You can tell by 4:51 that this review was paid by competitors.
You must’ve had beef with them around this time cause I’ve never seen you bash a product this bad lol.
I actually put a fan myself on my h510 when I heard it impreves the cooling. I was actually surprised it works
For years I’ve had a 140mm case fan pointed at the back of my graphics card, whether there’s a backplate or not, temps improve significantly, I mean for such a simple thing, your memory temps will definitely come down, GPU 3-5C depending on your situation
Hopefully, one day case designers and manufacturers will test and compare their stock case temps to their older case models.
Okay give the designer an award .^.
I love it, can't wait for the H
That Carhartt hat, is the most Canadian thing I've seen. 😆
Most people down here just wear the jackets.
I just got this case. Very informative video. I was about to subscribe but then it showed I already am lmao
It's a sub $100 case. Build quality is of course a reflection of that price.
I rememmber old good days when fanhub did not use rpm and used 12V, 7,5V and 5V was so good to have a switch on front panel to make it run faster or slower so simple.
Please review the H5 FLOW RGB. its actualy rather nice. No rattling at all. temp is amazing and lots of fans included! all for $120
This is how review a case that you hate.. take the piss out of it.
I'm looking forward to the new nzxt air cooler review!!
Keep up the good work!
thank's man, you really answered all my doubts.
i was wondering is if was that good or if this was just a trend, and i think i should rather stick with my h500 for now
They need to add thicker metal to the whole design.
thank you for the honest review.
Well. The 4000d has entered the fight and... won.
Excellent review , to call a spade a spade. Thanks..
Great review. But just wanted to let you know, I’m sure you already know tho, that hat looks great on you. Thanks again for everything
Not to mention all the pricey enough cases that come with 7 cooler slots but have installed only 2 coolers.
What if you used a 3000 series card or any card with a cutout on the backplate that pushes air through it
i agree with you, my first nzxt case, h510, quality is not good
I've been looking to upgrade my rig, but can someone explain why the hell case prices have almost doubled in the last 3 years since i last looked? Cases I used to be able to find for £80 are now listed for £120-30-40+, this is crazy.
I still have my S340 elite, what a great case
I prefer to go for full glass case like lian li o11 dynamic or Hyte Y60 rather than the old classic pc cases like H5, Which blocks all sides with metal panels. Glass panels give better looking and clean for RGB parts.
Man, if only someone had thought of putting fans in a PC case that blew air directly onto the GPU. Seems like the front panel would be a good candidate for that, right? Oh wait.....
That! lol and I literally have fans under my gpu cooling it down, on my Lian Li Lancool 2
There are deepcool cases as well which looks good
NZXT is that type of student that studies all night but rights it's own formula in exam
I wish nzxt brought the H440 back to life.
Honestly you should check out the Thermaltake Divider 370 if you haven't since it is a great case that i am using now which i actually love it over the Lancool II Mesh.
Hoping the H5 would be exactly same as H7, just smaller. That would be good. No 140mm top is wasted space. GPU cutout is gone, big feature I like and gpu fan is not gonna do much at all when front fans are installed.
it helps with the 4090 FE
best pc cases reviewer as always. btw the COSMOS C700M 30TH ANNIVERSARY is out and it's limited, i was aiming for it but looks like non of them remaining :(
I actually put a car vibration dampening sheet on the back panel of my h510 flow 😁
I like this chassis very much, but I am a little worried about the sound of metal collision.
I'm still using my S340 Elite from 17'. If ain't broke don't fix it. It was your guy's reviews where I started my PCPartPicker journey.
Excellent review
i work at park sheet metal and work on a press. we have CNC machines and brake machines. i wonder if i can make my own case. i did try with proto case and might choose them if i cant.
Thanks for the no bullshit review
the bequiet pure base 500dx and fx are also solid cases
Nice review my h510 flow is safe for now
