Prefer the Seiko much better power reserve 38hrs is ridiculous
I'm considering the Oris. I'm a bit hung up on whether I prefer the blue or green dial... and whether to go for the great barrier reef limited edition. Their new in house movement is a bit out of my price change. How has your experience with the Aqui been?
Lol i’ve got both . I would say for the style of classy look the Oris will takes it for sure , but the mechanism of movement in the Seiko is undeniably one of the best for it’s money .
no jk pls this mvmt r6.15 is at least 2leveks behind 2824 in accuracy and quality so sh sh . You have both? In terms of design an sharpness you would know oris is better and with his materials league above.. u don have this watches cos even bracelet of oris is double better

@@THeinsidethefire16 The seiko has de 6r35 ITS a great movement, the comparition ITS complicated, i think the seiko has a better case, the Oris has better strap AND better bezel because had ceramic, the seiko has better value compared with the price, ITS not small behind the Oris, ITS a great competitor

Seiko half price looks great and 70 hrs power reserve and it's a tank Rolex is not an everyday watch unless you win the lottery this on the other hand is Seiko sumo
Dass sind beides tolle Uhren. Die Seiko würde ich des Preises wegen vorziehen obwohl mir die Oris ein wenig besser gefällt. Die kostet nicht mal ganz die Hälfte von der Oris. Der Vergleich ist der beste Beweis, Preisleistung von Seiko unschlagbar.
I love Seiko but Oris Aquis is one of a kind watch! Together with Longines Hydroconquest are the 2 best value for money offer....
Really glad I found this comparison. I prefer the strap on the Oris, but....in the uk the Oris is £1000 more than the Seiko...that's a huge difference isnt it.

Big fan of Seiko, but love that Oris 39mm. Also, huge fan of the Longines Legendary diver. Probably because it doesn't look like your average dive watch and is super versatile.

Both are great, but, if I have to pick one, I´m taking Seiko.
The two watches aren't even in the same price bracket. The Oris is twice the price of the Seiko. I own the Oris Green and it is a fabulous watch that is solid and built like a tank. The Oris bracelet is sturdy. In terms of quality it goes to the Oris Aquis but if you are looking at it from a point of view of the Sumo Green punching above its weight to compete with the Oris it does pack a punch with the sunburst green dial and bezel.
I have the "Hulk" Seiko. I love more the subdued green on the seiko sumo
I own both and they are great watches, but somehow my Seiko gets much more wrist time........Love it

Its a matter of choice, more power reserve means chunkier. Less power reserve means slimmer. I prefer either, both great watches at different price point.

my first impression was that the Oris green wins by miles, as the video goes forward, and I saw the shape and finish of both watches IMHO the Seiko is way better. The Seiko has so many beautiful details on that case. I'm not into green watches so... lol
Sumo for me..... One of the best sub £1500 divers out there.
Sumo is only worth $425.00 on ebay lol. Oris is a luxury watch

Roger Toledo Not a fan of Oris design personally. I prefer a Longines to Oris as well.

I just recieved my green sumo. It's absolutely stunning ! But the bracelet let's it down. Can't decide whether to to flip it and go for the oris or try a 3rd party bracelet.
Buy a better stainless bracelet at Strap code with extension. They look nice. Yes, seiko's sumo strap is garbage
thats the main let down on the Seiko is the metal bands id rather put a black silicon strap

markymark74 your right in that it works and looks ok, but it's not up to the same quality as the watch. It's definately the weakest bit.
doben tiapon I just picked up the black silicon from crafter blue. It’s a super quality strap and it smells lovely too ;-) but it doesn’t look quite right on the watch
I would go for new sumo green too... more masculine look and iconinc.
ORIS AQUIS power reserve is way too short comparing with all other competitors. (No improvement)
It use to be a good 'money for value diver', now pretty face is all its got.
More mascuine ? No more uglier you mean lol . Not just better looking but better quality ceramic bezel better movement etc... Who cares about power reserve just get a winder box and it will always have power reserve. Its cause all u die hard seiko fanatics will bash any other watch no matter what seiko brings to the table and this comes from seiko guy.
38 hours power reserve 2019 is ridiculous
@@greenerick If you use the watch daily you don't need a higher reserve. If you have lets say 5 watches and switch each day, they will not stay running anyway. 4 hz movement is more pleasant to look at too.

Unfortunately you can't trust that the Seiko you receive will be correctly aligned. Just sold my Blumo, very nice piece but I have gone off Seikos as microbrands are putting out similar watches, with higher specs and cheaper prices.

I just bought this seiko absolutely love it but I hate the bracelet I will replace it with a strap but not sure which one to buy yet and not sure what colour will suit it best! Any recommendations? Cheers

I wear the sumo on fine leather strap from officialtime, made for rolex. Supercool.

Yes they are still using the tiresome pin and collar set up. Bracelet is not bad, just a pain to size.

Oris don't make good divers? Seikos are known for having shitty quality control, some of their bezels dont even align properly and their bracelets and clasp feel super cheap
@@antoniovenegas6237 The Oris is 2000 dollar , the Seiko is 900 dollar, that is a 1100 dollar price diference! I take a 1800 euro Seiko over an 1800 euro Oris all day..

I don't know where you get that impression from? Bracelet fits too loose between the lugs and the clasp is embarrassing for the price. Power reserve is nice but how important that is depends on the use and it's a low beat movement.

I`m a SEIKO and ORIS guy. The Oris Aquis better quality than that SUMO. Better movement better quality build and yes better looking especially the ugly bracelet the seiko sumo has with a shit green they put . ORIS AQUIS kills all of these SEIKO divers except of course the GRAND SEIKO DIVERS. And im a seiko guy.

@@levedia That's fair. I haven't tried the oris on yet but when I've seen videos the case looked like it fit flat on the wrist where the sumo has these curves on the case that hugs my wrist. And what I liked about the green on the sumo is that it looks black depending how the light hits it. Which I have a easier time wearing it with everything. But your being a seiko guy and saying that the oris is better quality, along with the guys on FB seiko group. I have no choice but to see how it looks in person. I've already got my eye on the black one with the brown leather band. Thanks for sharing.
Ho comprato il Seiko Prospek Sumo. Molto bello ma con una precisione ballerina. Quindici giorni con una precisione di 4 secondi settimanali e poi capita che in un giorno ritarda o anticipa di due minuti. Portato in assistenza, dopo due mesi me lo hanno sostituito con uno nuovo. Ma non e' cambiato niente. Grande delusione

Sold my Tudor Pelagos and got the seiko yes the bracelet is a disappointment but the rest of it it is ok

Plenty of good third party brands. Maybe its their way to keep the cost low. When i bought my turtle, its the bracelet that gets my frustration. But i still use it a lot.
