I like JB weld. I’ve used it for lots of stuff. If you clean and sand or grind the area first , it will usually hold. Whoever invented that stuff did good.

That front Vtec spool valve is also prone to leaking, Honda only sells the entire assembly. Nice repair. You sound like Tommy Lee Jones.

Wow, the way the oil looked inside the valve cover, major oil breakdown. I wouldn’t be surprised if the engine burns oil. Well, at least the main valve cover leak has been fixed. 👍

They leak oil. From the seal inside behind the timing belt at the oil pump cover..
Also the oil filter housing that's an easy fix.
Wish i had the money to make my 2009 run again.
    Such a comfy clean vehicle.

Be a good time to adjust valves. Those solenoids are prone to leaking too.

Great video..l have a 2007 and it’s leaking oil from the valve cover… did you put a bead of sealant around the bottom of the valve over or just replaced those 3 seals?also, how did it hold up…Tks

You definitely seem to know what you're doing. You make it look easy. Is there a way to know or detect beforehand whether it was leaking from there, the valve cover? You seemed surprised to see cracks there around those openings. We're looking to buy a used Honda Odyssey and they all seem to have some type of oil leak somewhere, be it on the left side under the engine where the power steering reservoir sits, or on the right hand side where the oil pan sits. It's just a matter of whether it's a little oil leak or a lot. Any suggestions?

Best thing is to take the whole yop intake manifold off for better access to most areas

I had a GREAT Thanksgiving Al...I slept through it lol! Tomorrow will be a different story though, that's when my wife isn't working and all of the kids can be here for our family dinner.
I'd forgotten that you bought that van and, I assume that you don't have a lot of history on it. If it was me, I'd consider throwing a timing set at it as a "just in case", especially before taking any long trips.

@14:35 I am really hoping your patch job works for you. I am also hoping my JB weld job on my son's Ranger radiator works also. 🤞

Do you think that the car may have had a bump at the front Al 🤔. It just seems a bit odd to me, where the valve cover is cracked. (Maybe?) 👍✌️🇬🇧

Those Vans aren’t easy to work on your right Honda and Toyotas last a very long time I drive my 1998 Toyota Camry just to work has 215k miles unfortunately it does not want to to stop . I put full synthetic in it change it every 5000 miles. AC and heat work immaculate. It amazing I’m going to give it to my mother in law soon . Greetings Al San Diego 70 and sunny.👍
