Kakko at 2.5 million as a third line player is really good deal. I seriously doubt we get a better player at that price point #LGR
Kakko doesn't bug me too much. He is cheap and isn't a detriment to the team. If he stays, hopefully he gets back to his 40 pt production. Trouba is a detriment. Costs way too much, draws way too many penalties, and he gets burned for goals. We need to dump his salary so we can get in a player that can drive this team forward.
Can't fully dump his salary but can cut him and the hit won't be so hard
Kakko has been misused. He needs to be in a top 6 role. It’s the rangers fault that he lacks trade value.
This is the type of offseason that gets a GM fired. He has failed to keep up with his competition. Running this back is not an option.

I'm okay with trading before the deadline, we should be fine getting by until then HOWEVER, Trouba situation needs to be resolved and that means him no longer being on this team.
Great Video, as usual. I really don't have an idea what Chris Drury is doing with this team. I do like the fact that he's going to be moving on from players that make way over their pay performance. We'll see.

Drury is being smart and waiting for the Draft/Free Agency buzz to die down. Now GM's have less to pick from, etc... He will make one or two trades before the season.

I think you both hit the nail on the head and this happened last year. We are desperate, teams are aware of this, and will try and take advantage of us and Drury won’t allow himself to make a bad deal.

HBD🥳Anthony & much more to sir. I'm starting to feel less about Chris Drury; his trades could have been better. He handled the Blueshirt salary-cup as well. Gentleman, what do you think about the ex-Ranger and overall making of the GM-LVK Stanley Cup winner, George McPhee, as replacing Drury.? Drury should have signed Tyler Toffoli better. The Rangers have had this lingering problem these past few years, and in the Ranger minor-league system, they still need to develop their raw young talent. Always, Let's Go Rangers🤘🏼!

As for Trouba, I know Hartford is not on his list. I’d rather sign Chad Ruhwedel to play third pair right side and send Trouba down. I’m not sure on the rules, but if he refuses to report, that may void his contract?

Trouba probably doesn't want to go to the West Coast he wants to stay close to New York so his no trade list is probably anyone out West. If Drury can make a deal closer to home then it might happen.
Let’s give the young guys we keep hearing are coming a chance and let them play regularly until the trade deadline. At some point the Rangers have to develop some offensive players to win the Cup and development comes with patience and playing time.

If Kaako stays with the Rangers he should be given a shot to play center. He's big and strong and it might work out. His biggest problem is he takes too long to shoot the puck. He has good opportunities but holds the puck to long and many of his shots are blocked. He should use quick snap shots as soon as he has a shot. Playing center would help with his big body in front of the net and his proven ability to work the boards.

nyr signed kakko to a new deal... so on some level i think mgmt is ok keeping kakko. unless the play is to sign sprong and flip kakko for picks. is sprong that much of an upgrade over kakko?

Happy Birthday Anthony, Trouba if anything wants to go to a cup contending team but i feel maybe his salary is a red flag that keeps other teams from taking him.

I agree, we didn’t have a #1 RW all season last year and won the presidents trophy. Keep him on the first line, he can’t have a worse season than last year get his points up hopefully then trade him at the deadline

If he refuses to report to a team that he was traded to that's on his note trade list, nothing happens, but he's going to a team that he okays then they can terminate his contract.
Teams can be over the cap until just before the season starts. Trouba can refuse to report to a team that is not on his no trade list and it will suspend him clearing the cap space.
I love all the rumors about this team meanwhile about 1.5% of them ever see the light of day 😂😂 it’s the silly season at its finest.
I don't think we're desperate to unload Kakko, he just hasn't done enough to command a decent return. So this one year extension is a contingency plan, hopefully he'll increase his value, maybe early on and then we can trade him.

It's happened before. Not sure how involved Dolan is but it wouldn't surprise me if he dropped the hammer and told JT to go to hell and have fun in the minors. Not sure if Drury is cable of that all on his own.

The same clowns asking for Laffy head last year are now asking for Kakko to be gone I don’t understand he’s cheap and play a great checking 3rd line role sure he didn’t turned out to be what he was drafted to do but at least he’s ok with the role he’s assigned to do and he’s young so for the prize the Rangers are paying for his services why not let him around because I can see him going to another team and blossom so idk what all your experts want seriously.
Hopefully Trouba is thrown in just to sweeten any deal..if they don’t trade Kakko move Laf to 1st Kakko to 2nd . Or make the 2nd line the 1st line and break up Mika and Krieder.
As for everyone bashing Drury for not signing anyone to crazy contracts, rangers have a bad habit of signing players to crazy contracts, maybe this is a good thing. Kakko keeps getting bounced from different lines and he’s was hurt a lot last season. Id give him another chance. Unless they can get something good. Thing is NY had very bad luck at developing players.and I could be worse but in think you can be over the cap up until the season starts.

Rangers won the President’s Trophy 🏆. This is not a bad team at all. No games are guaranteed. Keep Kakko, keep Trouba, stop this nonsense. People want to trade players just to trade players. Where the Sam Hell you gonna get a 2nd overall pick. Zegres’s is going to get you 41 points and three Michigan goals.

I'm baffled by a majority of the Rangers fan base.
Year after year: (I assume you all watch the games, including The Finals.) We watch tough, cohesive team defensive teams, defeat teams with " Superstars ".
We all just watched the best player in the league ( McDavid) with several highly talented teammates; get eliminated by tough defense-first team play.
But yet, you want Zegras ( who will be a major defensive disaster, and is not physically tough for post season hockey), because he might get more points?
Rangers fans never learn.

Yo, I'm down for keeping Troubs and shipping Miller for Gudas and a draft pick. Trouba at least throws his shoulder. Miller is a 6'4 ladyboy who refuses to do anything other than poke check. Gudas is sandpaper and dirty. I like that.

HE does kinda look like a woman sometimes ..... but I actually like Miller .... yea I def wish he would use his size and strength , he was the best " ATHLETE " IN HIS DRAFT YEAR AT THE COMBINE AND BROKE RECORDS IN SOME OF THE EXERSISES !!! Trade Trouba, Kakko and whoever and fire Drury. I'm sick of this. Bring the fans up on an ultimate high then disappoint with stupid plays from the captain and weak trade deadline decisions from Drury.

Man, you guys are really shitting on Kakko. Yes, he's not lived up to the 2nd overall pick, but you guys are trying to sell him for "Peanuts 🥜"! Zegras is the best option, because he still has upside. Zegras can play C/RW, so he's versatile. Trading away 2nd and 3rd round picks for old journeymen, who only stick around for one season is ok? But, Kakko is underwhelming? You guys love Kane, but we had Kane, and he too was underwhelming and you want him back? We had Tarasenko, and still didn't win a cup!!! Signing old veteran's and "Blue line Grinders" only worked once, in 94'!!!!! Not before and not after! You normally win with your core, drafted players! Learn how to develop and be patient with them! Hire coaches that fit and support the play style of your young talent, not a coach that forces them to totally change who they are! Bring up Othmann, he should be ready, and give him actual ice time!
Rangers have a money problem. The organization has very little money to work with, and Drury is being cautious with making deals. They will be very lucky to land just one big named player. They still have to sign up some players this year, and next year, what is there? 3 players whose contracts need to be renewed. If you trade away all the farm to get one or two players is not a good idea. At least, that is my opinion.

Why hasn't Kakko been traded yet ? Because hes not a NHL player and he stinks plain & simple, can't score, can't shoot, can't pass, can't hit etc..why they make him play so much is beyond me. Drury had the chance to trade him and a 1st rounder for Vatrano & Henrique that was a major mistake, id take those 2 over Wennberg & Roslovic any day. Don't know why theres so much hatred against Trouba, sure he played poorly in playoffs but hes the only Ranger who hits & has the balls to stand up for his teammates..the player they SHOULD trade is Miller,,,absolutely no improvement over the last 3 years all he does is reach out with his stick and tries to poke the puck away..hes big and fast yet he rarely shows these talents.
Drury is doing the right thing-- He's changing the entire Pedigree of the team through the Draft. Drury knows this Team has ZERO CHANCE of winning it all with this Core. We have to wait for Panarin and Zibanejad to leave, and the development of a NEW CORE. Kakko's fine-- Solid 3rd Liner. They gotta keep Trouba, until they find another Physical Force on D.
