My husband has AC joint pain. I’ve watched you for years and tell all my exercise students about your videos. And I’ve even memorized your theme song and sing it to them so they know they have the right videos. I miss Bob a lot too you both are sweet physical therapists. Thanks for your family videos.

Thanks! (I can't tell you how MANY of your videos have saved me time and money from being able to do my own PT. Love you both :).
Also, I slightly injured mine by doing pushups and then compounding the injury w/ shooting hoops and can confirm sleeping on the affected shoulder brings more pain.

My AC Joint was sprained and later inflammed. I worked on my posture and on my rotator cuff and I could even do push ups, bench pressing and dips without irritating it. I discovered that my front delts were really tight from years of lifting with bad posture. This made it difficult to keep my posture up all day, which is why I often made bad moves during the day.
So if you struggle with your AC joint like me, you might want to stretch your front delts on a regular basis. This was key for me.

"A little bit of sugar helps the medicine go down" Thanks for being yous guys. Whether you are the best chiros on the net or not you make finding solutions a whole lot more fun. I love your mild sense of humor. You remind me of a famous comedy team ... Thanks again for generously helping folks like me that can't go get outside help. Plus I am a drummer play guitar and just got a new drum set ... Yet a bit afraid to play them. Do you think playing Drumset would be good or bad for this as it is a bit sore but I don't think I broke or fractured it. Plus I have been taking a high grade Collegen for my excrutiating knee pain which is gone now so I am hoping the Collegen is helping strengthen my bones etc. I just turned 69.

I have strong calcification now 15 years later, after impact trauma in early 20's. Last night after 4 hours of of carrying 40# on stable back-pack the top of calcification knob was throbbing. I assumed from the strap over top pulling on those connective tissues. Though next day the knob itself is painful. I do a lot of physical labor, and have great stamina, but this can cause scapula issues, flare my trap/neck, and cause a lot of problems. What is your take on the calcification and an AC sprain of 2 from years past? The cross sectional reach does not hurt. Push ups are fine etc.

I have a bump on my acromion process that I have just now noticed. It's very pronounced but it doesn't have any pain when I press down on it or do any of the tests on it. I think I might have had a tear in the past. A year ago it was very tender to touch and did hurt when I slept on it. This happened from doing dips and bench press I think. I backed off that for months and it went away but the bump still remains. I only ever feel slight pain on it when I bench now. That's why I prefer the dumbbell press, no pain from that.

Hi. Awesome videos. Sorry for the long message in advance. I have had right shoulder pain issues for a decade now. I have been doing should impingement and strengthening exercise for over a month now but my AC joint continues to ache. I just tried the suggested rubbing and it felt good.
Recently got MRI done and the report says below. Any thoughts on the routine I should follow?
FINDINGS: Marked edema of the subarticular aspect of acromioclavicular joint associated with significant joint space narrowing and osteophyte formations (degenerative changes). Joint space fluid with partial thickness tear of superior acromioclavicular ligament.
Thickened/hypertrophied joint capsule causing mild subacromial supraspinatus impingement. Tiny degenerative cystic foci in the middle facet of greater tuberosity of humerus. Trace of superior subscapularis recess fluid. Mild strain of articular surface fibers of teres minor. The glenohumeral joint appears normal. The glenoid labrum appears normal. No evidence of labral tear. The inferior glenohumeral ligament appears normal. The long head of biceps and its attachment appears normal. The supraspinatus tendon, infraspinatus tendon, subscapularis tendon appears normal. No Hill Sach’s deformity. No significant abnormality is seen in the muscles.
IMPRESSION: Features of marked acromioclavicular joint arthritis with mild to moderate subacromial supraspinatus impingement. Other findings as described above.

I wonder if you can help answer this question, I experienced an AC injury due to doing some tricep dips, and long story cut short, arrested for two weeks, but then was a bit too eager to train and maybe injured it again and subsequently took 5 weeks away from doing any Upper work.
There is definitely much improvement now, however, when performing Chest Press and Fly movements I experience pain and discomfort, not massive - probably around 4 out of 10. This usually settles down by the following day and mostly speaking, I can bring my arm across the body without too much pain or discomfort if any.
Does this sound like it’s on the mend on its own or do I need to take any action?

I have a question, is it a positive sing when you have pain on that area while the arm is just resting on standing position?

Will these work on a shoulder full of arthritis. You can feel and hear bone on bone when using that joint.

None of this worked for me, I went to a therapist and got my traps worked on and it solved all my ac problems.

For anyone that just got this injury, it doesnt heal in 4-6 weeks like they say... prepare for chronic pain. Also there was a study done that showed high correlation between a slap tear in those with ac joint injury

I’ve pain in this place (ac join) once i wake up and if i slide my arm backward, but the pain is negative on all the positions u mentioned … i tried dumbles, and gym and the pain is still the same … i went to dr and he gave me anti-inflamatory but i didnt take it as i prefer a natural cure … any solution ?

Push-ups don’t hurt but pull-ups cause irritation. I guess it depends on how you strain it. I was grappling when I believe the injury happened - just to much weight on joint as resisted going to my back, ha. Great way to get injured.

I thought I had a AC joint problem. My left shoulder has a dip that I never used to have right before that pointy bone part. I get pain with certain exercises but abs clicks when I move it. I go in and they say I have a slight rotator cuff tear but don’t tell me how to treat it. But that finest explain why my left shoulder has that indent

    • @Aguynearu
      @Aguynearu 2 ปีที่แล้ว

So why did it have the dip? Is it ac joint like you thought ?

What about over extension. My arm was pulled back 5 yrs ago and has been painful ever since. Did I break something? Or tear something? It pops at times. Very painful. No never had it x-ray or even looked at.

They can't answer those questions. You need to get it checked out by someone that can physically look on it
