I don't understand all the hate for this car. We have had one for my wife, and it has been excellent. She loves it. It's a 35K car; what do you guys expect? We paid 28K out the door, and that's a great deal. We opted out of the Hybrid because it looked way too complicated to repair down the road. I don't know where this 50K price tag is coming from. Not one of them on the lot at 3 dealers was over 42K. Even the Hybride had a $6500 EV discount right off the top. A loaded Hybrid R/T was 38K out the door.
the ev can beat a hemi up to 100 mph scat pack and up would beat it but not bye a hole lot there a lot faster then most suvs or cross overs unless your spending 80k to 120k i might get one this week with the black top and race package only 28k now on sale
I wish they had hornet spray at the dodge dealership. Stellantis might try to make a hornets nest in every dodge dealership. That thing doesn't need to go fast. How did it get past the QC dept. They're supposed to catch bugs!! The Hornet is a large bug!
You should judge a car on what it IS and not what you wish it was. I own a GT plus and I wanted a small vehicle that fit easily in my garage , but still performed well. Mine has 18 inch wheels that ride better than the 20 inch on the track package. I also get almost 30 mpg on regular gas in everyday driving. I love this car!
Fair point, but it's undeniable that this is the most hotly contested market segment, and the Dodge Hornet wades into waters occupied by the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V, two of the best selling SUVs in the nation. Compared to the Mazda CX-5, the Dodge Hornet DOES have some things going for it, but will customers be willing to look past its flaws to find out... or trust in Dodge and Stellantis reliability long term? The car market seems to be saying no at the moment.
It COULD have been a cool marketing idea... if they had actually marketed it at all. Megan has always liked the Hornet badge and symbol, but she had NO idea what it was last year when we first tested it. Not a great example of advertising since she's the more likely target demo.
Crying shame what Stellantis has done to Dodge. And Chrysler. And Jeep. And Ram. And judging by the view count - also the people who have to review Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, and Ram...
Hahahaha! Well ain't that the truth! It happens (slow time of year, too), but the public temperature on cars is easy to track across platforms when it comes to views and likes.
Alfa Romeos stink. It's a niche car company that has a horrible rep in reliability. You toss a dodge badge on it and think that people will just like it? If I buy a dodge, make it a dodge with American craftsmanship and design. Don't try and sell me an Italian made sketch mobile that will have a resale value of 10 bucks in two years. Anyone wanna buy a jeep renegade?
It's possible if not probable, but most people will likely not give it the chance to even find out. Shame for Dodge and for a very decent small crossover.
The car looks very good, lots of design flaws in the overall shape, but it's not bad. The sloping roof is ugly, and does not fit the car. And the phat booty in the back is ugly as all hell. But everything else is good. The front end is Nasty in the good way, the dumb performance hood looks good, and definitely fits the car. Unfortunately it's a Chrysler product, so I will never touch it.
We don't disagree. There are some angles where this Dodge Hornet looks very OK, and it's certainly not an ugly car overall, but Dodge has spend too much time promoting Hemi powered Mopar boys toys like the Charger and Challenger for most people to take this seriously. That's a shame because the Dodge Horney could be competitive in the marketplace with the right push.

Thr Dodge Hornet is well engineered! Prices are coming down at the dealers! You can get a sweet deal now on a Hornet!

@@jax1079 Wades into the water? More like dances along the shore. It might beg to be part of the party but buyers are avoiding it.
@@rogerrussell9544 fair point
Main problem is they named it HORNET and is has zero aggressive styling.

The slowest selling car in America
Yeah, kind of wild when everything else on the list costs twice as much. Not good for Dodge.
