    Q:What camera do you use?
A: I use the Go Pro Hero 7 Black Edition primarily. Often times you will see auxillary cameras in use. Those cameras include The Go Pro Hero 6, Hero, and DJI Mavic Pro Platinum
Q: How big Is your rotator?
A: It is a 50 ton Miller Industries Vulcan 950
Q: Does the carriage slide back like Ron Pratt's?
A: No, the carriage doesn't slide back due to strict weight laws in California. The sliding carriage will make the truck to heavy in CA
Q: Why do you only have 3 winches on the rotator?
A: Comes down to weight again as stated above
Q: How many trucks Does Plaza Towing have?
    A: Currently more than 30
Q: Why must the driveshaft be removed to tow a vehicle?
A: When vehicles are not running the transmission is not receiving circulating lubricant. If the driveshaft is left installed, the transmission, which is not receiving lubricant, is still spinning. This allows it to get very hot which eventually will cause major damage to the transmission. Therefore, removing the driveshaft completely eliminates the transmission from spinning. Simply leaving it in neutral is not sufficient since the transmission still spins in neutral.

One point, 10/10 times when I am on level ground I leave the one container end on the ground and release brakes on truck and trailer and then winch myself underneath of container. Little easier on equipment when only other end of container is sliding and not the entire bottom creating drag. At least you had a fork lift to center it on the deck, always nice.

Well Trent, from the looks of that container it would be hard to hurt it much using a chain. Having said that , I know its better to have the proper equipment especially when you are a professional company. Thanks for another great video! 👍😀

Wonder how many windshields got cracked from the loose stones falling off the bed.

Would you consider releasing the brakes on the truck and sliding under the container as you are winching it on the bed. I used it when I ran roll off container trucks, seems to be easier on the cable and I guided the trk underneath as I was rolling under the container.

You don't ever use the 400 series for containers?
I would suggest getting some 4"x8"x1/2" angle iron for the sides. Rectangular tubing could be welded on the bottom of the angle to slide in the stake pockets of the trailers.

We don’t use our landolls because the containers destroy the wood decks. Thank you for watching!

nice vid i can see those containers really beat up the trailer, do you guys do this often. alex is doing awesome, very lucky he has awesome trainers at plaza. so much to learn at the jobs you guys do. how long have you been training alex. so many things you need to know.

    • @plazatowing
      @plazatowing  5 ปีที่แล้ว

Yes they do beat the trailers up that is why we only use this old steel deck trailer for containers not our wood decked landolls. Alex has been with us for a few months now and is now fully capable of doing most tows and we train him on new stuff as it comes in.
