Too Much Weight Breaks Landing Gear - Container Rollover

  • Too Much Weight Breaks Landing Gear - Container Rollover. I've always said that 20' containers are heavier than 40' containers. Every 20' container I've done has been on average 40,000lbs or more. In this case, I believe this one was too heavy and buckled the landing gear, causing it to rollover.
Alex and I wasted no time in not only getting this upright, but removing it from the broken chassis and setting it on a new one, all within about 30 minutes. Not bad at all when you factor in the time it takes to set up!
I used my Bailey's (link down below) slings for my part, while Alex used BA container links. Having both trucks made this so easy and allowed us to be in total control every step of the way.
I also did something new with this video, in that I shot it in 4k DCI for that wide angle movie look. I even color corrected it to have a moodier movie feel to it. I have such little time to really dive into the editing but I'm pretty happy with how this came out and hoping you guys like it too.
Don't forget to head to www.pepestowla.com/shop after the video and grab your cool Pepe's swag to represent your favorite tow company!
►All footage was shot with Sony FX3 and Alex's iPhone 14 Pro. I also edit my own footage using DaVinci Resolve Studio.

Given that the container already wiped out one trailer and the container itself I am surprised that they left it unattached to a truck. I would want to see just how bad things are in there as that container is obviously scrap not to mention lightening the load itself.
A great video...Alex is very brave going up there to detach the rigging with what you guys just cleaned up.
    Kudos to you both!!

This video was posted earlier today. You mentioned 70,600 subscribers. It has now passed 71,100 -- about 500 more than when you edited this. The reason is because of the good job of videoing and narrating the interesting recoveries you film. Of course, the men doing the work are interesting characters also. I especially like it when you and your dad are working together. Like everyone else, Dave is a professional at what he's doing, but is a man of few words.

Theoretically, 250,000lbs. Flipper is a 75ton and hulk is a 50ton. In reality it depends whether we work off the back or front and how far extended we are. But these trucks are monsters and can handle anything we throw at em
