Thank you for a nice detailed review of the new Mondeo. I would like to see a good review of the Mondeo estate/combi - cannot find one on TH-cam so far. I am thinking of getting one of the more powerful Titanium diesel estates.

...why is Europe receiving it years later than the US market? It is a Euroepan car, after all.
MelCanuck The reason is that the plant in Belgium closed and so the production facilities had to move to the plant in Valencia, Spain.

I dislike that car... I totally adore the front, it looks really fanthastic, in aston martin style, but all the rest is just to similar to old model, which was on the market sooo long ;-/ Mondeo will be propably priced at the same level as new (perfect) passat, so why the hell would i go to ford and spend for ex 25k£? Especially when we have got on the market so great cars like mazda 6, all premium badges and very nice peugeot 508.
Lukasz Rutecki Indeed you can only beat the Passat with a way lower price - and with a different design. The Mondeo looks stunning on the exterior, definitely. So let's see. The Passat with Trendline trim leven and 2.0 TDI and 150 hp is at 30.250 Euro in Germany. The Mondeo with 2,0 l TDCi 150 PS hp is at 32.950 Euro. That looks crazy first hand, but Ford already gives discount via website to 29.290 Euro, and in the end I am pretty sure Ford will give more discount than Volkswagen. That's why the Mondeo will be cheaper, but surely not much.
Passat is a great alternative to Mondeo, but Mondeo looks better, in terms of DSG vs Fords DCT Passat wins with its super fast DSG that has even better mileage than Mondeo
but if it is a manual Mondeo all day, its such a pleasure to drive Modeo manual whereas new Passat is great but not as involving as Mondeo
overall Passat is a better car but looks wise Mondeo just screams STYLE
LOOKS matter in the 21st century, Passat looks like a Passat , Saw the Mondeo in person, it looks fantastic like a fusion between new Jaguar and Aston Martin and Audi S7
Ponygt 662 You obviously haven't seen the Passat. It's got the size of an Audi A6 from two generations ago yet beautifully shaped on the outside looking really stylish and wide, especially the front. Mondeo Sedan looks too chunky and artificially stretched, only the front gets high marks to me.
Ted McScorcher Well I have seen the new B8 Passat and its side profile is straight just like any Passat just plain straight likes not at all pronounced like the one in the mondeo
I agree the Passat is extremely classy design but Mondeo mixes class with style
Also beauty is in the eye of the beholder some may like Passat more some might like the new Mondeo more, at least for me it looks dead gorgeous much better in my than the new Passat

Overall, a nice looking car. And they have covered the inner door frames like premium brands do, contrary to the new Passat which looks cheap with all the paint showing like a Seat Mii. Disappointment however about the infotainment system: Ford seems to have fallen prey to the political correct feminazi aberrant gender theories, with a depressive authoritarian female voice, considering a sweet pleasant intonation as 'sexist'. Pathetic, as other brands have refused to follow that trend thankfully. I'd much rather hear a warm masculine voice instead.

Ponygt 662 Sure, most quality nav systems offer that choice but a soothing pleasant female voice still makes everything more positive in a often stressful environment (daily traffic or getting lost in a remote location) in my opinion.
Ted McScorcher The new Mondeo is already very late to market, it must be seen how it can fare against the competition, as of now Mondeo is in the back foot, also is Fiesta and Focus
VW is actually raising the quality bar soo high that it might kill all other brands within 2020, so I hope Ford recognizes it and acts accordingly

This seems like such a nice car.. but why the **** are they implemeting such slow, painfull and useless touch/speech navigation system?? PLEASE! My 3 year old 100£ Huawei Smarphone is better then this.
