I have now owned a Mondeo 2.0l petrol titanium for about 12 months in New Zealand. Can somebody explain to me why diesel is so popular in Europe and what does ps in the specs mean?
***** Three body styles, actually. Saloon (Sedan) for the Hybrid only, meanwhile everything else is Estate (Wagon) and Hatchback. Its all about supply and demand. The "D-Segment" market (large family saloon cars, known as mid-size sedans in the USA) completely crashed in the early 2000s in Europe as the general public made the switch to hatchbacks en-mass. So to release this Mondeo without a hatchback tailgate would've just been suicide. The USA still hasn't followed the rest of the western world in its love for hatchbacks, that market still favours saloon cars, so if the fusion wasn't a hatchback I don't think it would've sold in great numbers since "Hatchback" appears to be a dirty word over there. Then you have to remember that the USA has a population of 311million - Europe has almost the same landmass and is a population of 700million. More opportunities to sell more body styles making it far more sensible financially. I do agree that Ford need to tweak its global strategy though. I just learned the European Mustang V8 will come with last year's Coyote engine, meaning only 412brake-hp vs 429brake-hp (435hp) for the American model with the updated engine. There is also no option for Recaro seats and there are no wheel options - just black 19s with summer tyres and that's it.
Krychol We're reserving judgement on the new Passat, as we've only had very limited time with one - it's only now becoming available here in the UK. Model for model, though, the Mondeo does appear to be significantly cheaper.
Krychol The Passat is totally illegal with filthy emissions 400% above max allowed pollution level and more expensive, so no the Passat is definitely not better than the Mondeo. No one else needed cheat devices to get the legal licence to build their cars that VW should never have got.
Can anyone tell me where is the aerial signal/frequency. I don't want to get radiated, getting brain tumor due to this radio/gps invisible antenna. I can see that it doesn't exist as it once was on the previous models such as, Mondeo Mk3. But, where is located the magnetic radio wave? Most of cars, almost all of them, have the antenna and aerial signal at the end of them, near the trunk. Mondeo or Focus until recently considered that is "very good" for the customers to have antenna just above the front passengers. Where is the antenna signal when it comes to MK4 (facelift) and MK5? Thank you!

Diesel is about to die in Europe especially Germany and it's cheaper too. Ps is a German word Pferd stärke means horse power
why does a new car need an oil catch pan under the engine?

Seen these on the road .. the wheels look tiny v the chasis .. total destroys the look of the car .. get bigger wheels if you buy one
