- Ford Mondeo in its new form was launched in January 2012 at the Detroit Auto Show. This Ford is also known as the Fusion in the US. In Europe Ford delayed the new Mondeo debut from early 2013 to late 2014. The delay allegedly resulted from moving production from one factory to another, although there were some rumours about quality control issues. If you complain about the lackluster design of the Volskwagen Passat, you should enjoy the looks of the new Ford Mondeo.

what i see again is your hi sensitivity to car noises, it find me thinking you specifically have a week spot for that matter, more so then the average Joe.

1:21 25 years down the line and they've not yet figured out the small but equally important quality control issues. it looks like they still can't even put their badges on straight. i worked five years in Service at Ford back then and fixing the small details was always a regular task at the first 1500 mile check-up. thanks for the upload Marek

Yeah that's the main problem with Ford they always have small quirks. Like on my Fiesta when I bought it. Cheap plastics tend to detach like side window wents, door rubber and so on...
Otherwise best cars to drive in class and great durable engines and suspension.

great video as always. Much better then other bigger reviewers. About incentives, here in Croatia government pays around 4000 € for hybrid cars with CO2 emissions below 90g so I guess it pays of to buy yaris or auris. I am waiting for mine auris ts to arrive in few months ;). Best regards.

Marek Drives sure. I took two long test drives and I dont expect it to be much better then my old corolla 1.4 d4d but I got 4.5-5 l in city. Which is very good. But the easiness of driving and silence .... much better then shifting and reving on crowded streets.
After I sold my old Mondeo Mk III, I bought Mk IV 2.5T, which is a fabulous car, so many things packaged together in a nice body, yes and savage sounding 5 cylinder engine :). The new one, I am both glad and disappointed it got fatter and boring, I guess because I have a reason to buy a car with another badge for variety sake.

You sad that the cabin noise at motorway speeds is quite high and after seeing another reviews of mondeo and hearing that this car is the quiest in this class( passat, insignia , 6) i wish if you can tell me that if this car is the quiest. thanks
Robert Pricope I'm looking for a sound expert to explain this better to me and my viewers, but as far as I know sound level expressed in dB is one thing, but the "structure" and perception of sound is another. So in dB Mondeo is indeed among the best in its class, but when I drove it on the motorway at about 120-140 km/h it felt unpleasantly loud inside.
Really wish this and the wagon would be in the U.S., and not the nasty & typical sedan that a majority seem to like. This is much more useful and a wagon would be killer, especially with awd. Great review Marek!
TJ HAMMERSLAND Thanks. You really get only the sedan in the States? Here in Europe sedan is reserved for the hybrid. What's the interior like in the Fusion? Is it similar quality (as much as you can compare from the video)?
Oh, well I mean in terms of trim we have the two EcoBoost gas engines - 1.5L & 2.0L as well as the hybrid, and plug-in hybrid. Interior quality appears to be the exact same as they tried to keep the one Ford thing consistent.

The Ford Fusion in Canada doesn't come in standard. Only automatic.
Not sure about Mondeo Hybrid, but in the UK, buying an A3 e-tron or 5 series hybrid adds about £10k price tag in order to get the Hybrid model, if you want want to save money, get a decent diesel spec car for long distance or a cheaper & lower powered turbo petrol for short distance commutes. As a car guy, I never understood why you'd buy a heavier car that has battery and additional electric motor to drive hybrid technology, surely it won't be a driver's car but if you're revving the nuts off it in a hurry, the MPG rating drops significantly higher than a diesel. But that's what I think. If you get a good company car deal on hybrids then go for it.
Roshan Panchal I'll be reviewing BMW i8 in a couple of weeks. A hybrid can make a lot of sense, if you put it to the right use ;)As far as hybrids for normal people go, I also agree they usually get similar mpg to diesels, but in the long run they are said to be cheaper to maintain.
Each to their own haha I love TDI engines though as you can tell from my Ibiza FR 1.9TDI xD If electric cars like Renault Zoe are bigger and cheaper than the mitsubishi imev then I'm sure Hybrid will also make sense in few years time. It'll just take a while. Like 15 years ago even i found it hard to love diesels.

well i have a 380HP skoda octavia RS and i wanted to switch to this car but after this review... i may reconsider the purchase.. and keep my car, for now
This car was the biggest automotive disappointment of the year for me. You would expect the Mondeo to be like the Passat: a very serious contestant, packed full of innovative features, superbly refined, and of exceptional quality. But this model wasn't. It was just "decent". It was average for the class.
Not impressed with that..
