Bennachie
After spending the night in The back o’ Bennachie car park we set off to climb the mountain the following day. There was a chilly wind blowing on the summits on the first day of autumn. A truly amazing mountain with Mither Tap stealing the show.

Mount Keen: A First Munro
มุมมอง 978วันที่ผ่านมา
My friend had been keen to do her first Munro for some time. We were in the area and with a reasonable weather forecast we set off to climb Mount Keen (the most easterly Munro). This was a new route for me having climbed the mountain before but from the north via Glen Tanar. Did she manage it and was Mount Keen a good choice for a beginner? www.walkhighlands.co.uk/angus/mount-keen.shtml

Summer Road Trip: Roads Less Travelled

Our 16 night Summer van trip began in Dumfries and Galloway and ended with a stay on the shores of Loch Linnhe. We spent most of it driving on single track roads, enjoyed lunches in local dog friendly cafes and the walking was superb. We visited 4 islands, 3 caves, numerous beaches, waterfalls and castles. A relaxed and memorable holiday. Links to my island adventures below: th-cam.com/video/Wb...

Another episode in you're grand 'northeast' adventure.😃 That park up spot in the forest looked really peaceful and special. I dont need to repeat the joy and appreciation of other commentators of walking the many tops, tors, hillforts and views, of this mini moutain range. And lets not forget, the hills place in the heart of Aberdeenshire folklore in the song "O gin I whar the Gadie rins at the back O'Bennachie"

Hi Linda, brilliant vlog. Glad that you made it up on to our beloved Bennachie range, and wow you managed to stand on top of three summits on your first explore. As you describe there is so much history up there you are literally walking in the footsteps of humans over centuries. From the Picts, to the Colonists, to Harthill's cave, the hidden waterfall, the Fog house, the curling pond, the granite quarries. And of course the folklore about our friendly giant Jock o' Bennachie. 😊 There is something new to discover every time you head up. If you are in Aberdeenshire again you can also have a look out for our next loved hill Clachaben. The prominence of Mither tap and Clachaben mean they can be seen from the North Sea and the pair were used by fisherman to aid navigation. Thanks again 😊
