I have a dell 3620 with a 7th gen i5 7500 and was wondering if the cpu is even worth trying to get a graphics card and run games because yours was a 8500. Not sure what the numbers mean because I am thinking about getting into pc gaming but I am currently on a budget. I would eventually like to go high end but I can’t afford to right now as it could probably get into the thousands. If you believe it is possible then I was wondering if maybe you can give me some recommendations?

Cheers mate! It’s not I card id want again, sold 2 of the 4 on eBay and 1 has already failed, another died on me before shipping and got a part refund from eBay. The other 2 🤞🏼 I’ve had a dead 1070 and 1080 mini Zotac card before so maybe it’s a manufacturer fault where there cards just die after 4 years…. Gigabyte/Msi just seem to go on….

@@andystech101 the MSI cards from this era are bulletproof. I’ve owned the MSI Gaming X 1070, 1080, RX 470. All were solid cards

@@andystech101Pulse. The cheapest one I could get. Extreme OC versions usually are not worth the extra charge. And I don't care for colour or (a)rgb.

Have you download the pre streaming assets package when installing the game? It’s about 30GB and fixes most stuttering on the game. Also DX12 is better over DX11 I feel.

i believe that windows 11 does mess it up. For more compatibility use a normal winSetup of win10 home

@@xzm996 But how? And all Windows 10 support goes away next year.. so Windows 11 will be the only option for online use soon. I use Rufus to install 11 on old hardware.

I think the GT730 is the recommend GPU and the 1050ti for 144p high settings so he’ll be fine with a 570 💪🏼

Yes Nvidia have always been a bit stingy on vram but then they want you to buy another card in 2/3years time!

Yes will best the GDDR5 1650 and it’s about the same as the GDDR6 card.

I used this card for gaming for years and it was enough ...

Have a look at how much it would cost to change to an i7. Haswell i7s are now pretty cheap and from experience the hyperthreading and extra cache make a big difference.

Check your local market, eBay’s prices are around £50/£60. Seen a couple locally to me recently for £50/£45 offers. There is always the odd auction bargain. Generally don’t pay any more than £40

Beg to differ unless you want high settings remember this is a budget gaming channel and I think it put up a good fight tbh 🤩

@@andystech101 Right now you can find these for 50 dollars, but by spending 20-30 bucks more, you could get a 5500 XT with 8GB of VRAM and up to 40% more performance. It's simply e-Waste.

@@andystech101 It would indeed. The 970 I have is the 'Inno3D iChill GTX 970 HerculeZ X4 Air Boss Ultra'...hell of a name. The 1060 3GB I had got put in a flip because not only was it a newer card but also because the 970 just looked so cool.

@@andystech101 not everywhere bro! in greece they ask for this piece of turd almost 100euros. I bought a p106-100 and a p104-100(gtx1060 and 1070 mining equivilents with 6 and 8gb) for 20euros each. just to play alan wake 2 the p106(1060) is far better than p104(1070) because sadly p104 is limited to pciex4 within the chip while p106 isnt.

@@andystech101 you're welcome, yea the default was/is 2GB...never used to be available till recent NVidia updates to the 1060 drivers...makes a big difference on these cards I find...cheers!

Ouch! To be fair I sold 2 out of the 4 I had for £69.95 on eBay so that’s £85 US 😅

@axboy_6138 if your using Windows10 you don’t need it. If it’s an unsupported windows 11 install it won’t work. Best bet is to go back to windows10

Ohw yes! But I wanted to test the system as it was with the dedicated GPU fitted, plus we only had 8GB ram and I didn’t want the iGPU pinching any of that. The only reason I can see that the GT610 was fitted is the user must have wanted 2 HDMi outs I guess 🤷🏻‍♂️

Cheers mate, never really sure about the 7700 over the 6700 for what it costs but would be interesting to test as I don’t really have any hand on experience with a 7700. Definitely think the 580 has been done but we’ll see! Maybe even a 1660super if I can find it for the right price.

@andystech101 I mean, personally, I feel like the 7700 is marginal in its performance over the 6700, but I will say the 7700k is a very nice cpu if you can get your hands on it for a cheap enough price, but if not I'd go with the 6700. A 1660 super would definitely be a great pair for it and would definitely be a better choice over the rx 580. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

I’m guessing the person who built it needed a reliable system with 2 HDMI outs? That would make the GT610 and Bequite PSU’s existence make sense. I’ve actually tested the HD630 with an extra stick of ram and the heaven result went up to 80.4 FPS so nearly 3 times a powerful! Yes trying to do a video every two weeks and anymore is a bonus 😎
