Anyone who was even slightly familiar with the Young Avengers knew who Joe Locke had been cast as the instant they heard the news. For months they refused to comment, the media releases and interviews called him Teen, and more and more "expert commentators" derided Marvel, Disney, and the showrunners for "trying to hide such an obvious twist". Now we know. The twist was never about WHO or WHAT was to be revealed. It was always about the WHEN and HOW. As for Agatha... I wonder who her father might be. I mean, she has to get those "demonic" powers from somewhere, right? If Evanora "I beat Odin out for piss-poor parenting" Harkness KNOWS Agatha is irredeemably evil... maybe she needs to come clean about what OTHER evil things she's had in her body? As for the face-fuzz-fears? Maybe you can play it all off by a series of "bad beard" costumes in celebration of Halloween? Shaggy from Scooby-Doo? Peter Pettigrew from Harry Potter? Chuck Noland in Castaway? any time Michael Cera has to beard up?

I agree when teen said Nicholas’s name Agatha realized he wasn’t her son. When she antagonizes him with the “are you sure?” And “Come, pet.” I think she was purposefully trying to get him to hit her with his magic when she realized he was Wanda’s son, as the camera pans down to his hand when it starts to glow you can see that she’s smiling and seemingly staring at his magic, but is then caught off guard when he _doesn’t_ blast her directly and she’s helpless to stop Jen and Lillia throwing her off the road

I'd argue that, in addition to sexism, a lot of the trolling is a result of homophobia. This show is a victory for women and the LGBT community; the trolling won't change that or stop the momentum going forward.

Joe Locke's American accent is a little wobbly from time to time, but I like him. He has a way about him as a character that makes me want to know more. I definitely agree that the first episode seemed to dwell too long on the Mare from Easttown vibes, though as with everything on this show, part of the charm is that it doesnt take any idea half-way. It (and the actresses) is (are) fully committed to even its craziest ideas. For me that has the effect of making me lean in, fascinated by what they might try next... because no quip feels wasted

I asked for this; and who needs to ask for it? A lot of the best shows out there were unexpected. These fragile entitled fanbois. Le sigh.

On the things Lilia blurts: I never considered that” Alice don’t” might be paired with save Alice. I do think Lilia is jumping in time, involuntary decimation. I think we may already have reached a payoff that most people missed. I think the “I love you guys” comment from ep. 3 belongs in the campfire scene where she told them she used to hate them and then zones out.. but now I love you guys! The “get off me” comment from earlier might be from when the fire demon landed on her, but I’m not sure about that one. I am sure “love you guys” belongs in the campfire scene. What’s super interesting about these comments she makes out of time is that she doesn’t say them in the future. It’s like her present is robbing her future. That could have major ramifications. If Lilia is meant to tell Alice not to save Agatha, but she never gets that advice, it could set Alice up for a fatal mistake later on.

Hi! I like your analysis. While I agree that Teen is probably Wiccan and not Nicholas, I don’t think that Rio really confirms that. She doesn’t say, “that boy is not your son.” She says “that boy is not yours.” Another interpretation is: That boy is not your because you gave him away, he is the property of Lord Mephisto.

One of the main reason I'm really into this show is Aubrey Plaza, I love her character even if it's almost the same in every movie/show. That clip at 3:52 speaks for itself! 😅

the only thing i'm hung up on w/ Rio being Death is, is it cannon that Death works for Mephisto, like as an employee? i guess i'm not entirely clear on what Mephisto even is. i know he has a huge cult following among Marvel fans but that's about it. i have heard him described as Marvel's Satan. but a "cosmic entity" having an employer seems a bit..off. to me anyway! lol

I really love your reviews!! As far as the smaller than usual for Marvel shows budget goes, I do agree that it might indicate a lack of belief in the show to begin with, but boy, did we show THEM? (who asked for this? My lesbian, witch obsessed, nerdy as* did) lol I am so glad this show is doing numbers. And honestly all the practical sets and stuff really do make the show really special. There is a certain magic to doing things practically that really fits the witchy vibe. Speaking of my nerdy as* tho, I truly LOVE the fact that this show is basically a D&D group going on a quest. You have your healer and your protector and your warlock and your necromancer and your oracle wizard (and that NPC that goes along with them that will end up being very important to the story and/or to a specific character) on a quest for what they want. There's trials, there's drama, there's bonding around a camp fire... there's queerness. It's D&D. haha

Ah! One of the only reviewers that picked up on the trial NOT being the main point of the episode! So many people seem to get "what is important to the plot" confused with "what is important to the story". Episode three was trying to set the stakes and the format for the nature of the "road". Episode four reinforced that but focused more on the interactions between the characters and the aftermath of events rather than the events themselves. I'm hoping that they will sprinkle in little nuggets about the curse (where did it come from? how long has it been around? etc), at least enough to let us piece together some backstory. As for being a small channel, hopefully it will grow. But small is nice too! Or... cosy... petite... bijou... compact... efficient... neat... miniature... baby..? Just don't trade us for the Darkhold... please?

I think one of the secrets to this show being so good is that ANY of the main cast (ie the road walkers) could carry the load of leading their own show. But we got lucky, and someone had the brilliant idea to put SEVEN lead actors into a show, and then write a script where the gap between a "lead" and a "co-star" role was so small it is almost not there at all. In fact that's probably the reason so many are mourning the loss of SharonMrsHartKittyForemanMrsDavis so much. It's not a show about Agatha's story, with hangers on to help with plot points, it's a show where we care about ALL the stories of ALL the characters. In book terms, it's "Lord of the Rings" and not "James Bond".

I liked the over-acting in episode 1, well... I did after I noticed that it was getting worse and worse as the spell unraveled. Agnes began as a believable cop in a high-quality procedural drama, then became a strangely behaved cop, then a not terribly well acted cop, then a parody of a cop... then Agnes became Agatha.

the series isn't as fleshed out as it can be , we still have the 25th quarter quell in that the quell twist has the most despicable and that is the district has to vote for who goes into the games i don't think we need to explain why that would be a massive moral dilemma and people want to see a story like that

About the scene of Katara hugging Aang, I didn't feel much when I watched that scene as a child or as a teenager, now that I'm an adult, whenever I see this scene I start crying, even now with this video, Aang furious and in pain, Katara understanding his pain, both crying, one because he was feeling so much pain and the other because he was feeling the pain of his friend feeling this way, it affects me so much these days

I want to see ALL of the Victor's games that they won. I really want to see Johanna tell her her story about her games. Acting like she wasn't a threat before she violently kills the last few & wins! She had the most tragic life, imo.

I personally don't think it will be a save. Deadpool has always been different to the rest of them. I don't like the whole multiverse concept or the void, but they had to use it to make the movie work. I was happy to fork out dollars to see D&W, but have not spent a cent on the other movies in the franchise.

Hey great video. I understand your take on haters and whether or not to comment on things you don't like. However, I'd ask you to recognize that the way you feel about avatar? That's the way many many people feel about other adaptations that have gotten a lot of hate - Star Wars, Marvel, Lord of the Rings, etc. So the next time you see a review and think "Oh they are just haters, they are just in bad faith, etc." please consider the way you feel that Avatar is an exception to "just any other show" and the fact to them, those things are not "just any other show."

I feel like the Bumi scene could have been more effective if Katara was defending Aang. It establishes a relationship and closeness that we could not have in the cartoon because A) Bumi wasn't a dick, and B) The cartoon gave this moment to Katara after the storm to learn and deal with Aang's backstory. But we know Aang's backstory now. And I guess Sokka and Katara do as wel. Katara should have yelled at Bumi for being a bitter old man, emphasized how young Aang is, how he gave hope to Kyoshi Island, how he's been trying to help Omashu from the spies/bombing/whatever (which Bumi has been doing a terrible job at!). Thus making Bumi realise that his judgement and games are unnecessary and cruel. OR have Aang goof of more so the audience feels like Bumi's judgement doesn't feel so out of place, my god. It's would have been so much better then the awkward knee slide power of friendship

“I like to play airball, eat banana cakes and goof off with my friends” line is like a stained existence in my brain. Who would write that and put it in a show??. It’s basically a monologue in a school play 💀
