This is a significant upgrade. I am sure this is a 12v system. What versions of Velo will this retrofit on? Like the DF/XL, is the dash panel removable to add an inline switch without using the exterior switch? The exterior switch can be left on, and the panel switch will replace the on/off. This means you still must select your desired setting for the day on the outside. This is a very nice upgrade and makes the Velos stand out in traffic. What is the part # I would like to order? Do they come in primary Velomobile colors, or is it carbon black only?

It is a idea to make yes, I did not think about it

That is very good invention. The simpler, the better, because that's what cyckling is at it's best. And that headlight above may be even better than low on the front. I hope these shuttles become very popular. I woud love to have one some day.

light on the top is good to be visible. light on the front is needed to see in front of you

@@BirgerLanduyt So, why then the big trucks have long beam lights on the roof, if they are not effective? How is that you can see much better with headlamp, than with flashlight in your hand?

      @@intromortti it's al about power.
with a frontlight you can see 2 meters further than when it's behind you. And you want to see the road as far as possible on high speed.
Big trucks dont use flood light on top in traffic.
With a flashlight in hand I can talk to people without blinding them.
Also light on top can have the disadvantage that it light up the top of the velomobile. And is bad for your night vision

@@BirgerLanduyt That little of a difference in length of placement has very little effect to power with the current efficient LED lights, but the light coming from above is more efficient. Very low front lights show you all the bumps in the road as black lines, the higher beams illuminate them as well. That's exactly why trucks have high beams on the roof. They illuminate very far, much farther than low on the front ever could. In that case It is of course nesessary to have also low beams, but in lower than low velomobile the light still is not higher than a regular bicycle light. Hood lighting can be a problem, it depends on how tall the driver is. Then the bonnet should be matte black, it would reduce the reflection. But I don't think that many ordinary drivers even drive a velomobile constantly in the dark, and those who do, will probably buy a more expensive one anyway.

I wanted a red flashing light on my QV so I got a light designed to fit on a bike helmet which fits a standard plumbing pipe clip. Easy to clip on or off, and then re-charge with a standard cable. Works fine :-).
