I recently obtained a new job over in the West Loop of Chicago and I need to move ASAP. I've been looking at Naperville, but I'm afraid of the commute. I need to be in the office 4 days a week. Is taking the metra good and reliable? Is the long commute time worth it or should I be moving closer to the city? I have a small family with a young child.

Naperville was a cute town 30 years ago, now it’s just overgrown and they’ve removed so many of the original buildings. Sad

I live in Hometown, and I love it! It is very affordable, clean, safe, and has many conveniences all within a few minutes.

I live in hometown , now 49 years , it’s still nice and safe but how long, who knows , the once attractive plaza with restaurants and shops noe gaming and cannabis dealers attracting those outside hometown. The convenient Walgreens was great when built, but now a ghetto mentality manager prefers empty shelves , poorly staffed. Best thing is pharmacy drive thru. If you enter store at night, be prepared to dodge panhandlers from outer areas . Love it here as it is safe and police presence makes you feel that way. The Homes and inner area are beautiful as well as the parks but the ghetto not far away is encroaching. If this neighborhood changes, it’ll change very fast with a mass exodus . Don’t want yo move but if I do, it’ll be to far northwest suburbs as the realtors steer the ghetto to south suburbs cause North side won’t stand for that. Still here so far but have been contemplating either Crystal lake or Lake in the Hills suburbs. Why ? Yes they’re integrated but the black people who love there don’t want any part of ghetto mentality in their neighborhoods and don’t play race card. They’re tryin* to get away from ghetto as much as any race card!

Wouldn't it be great if we went back to building smaller homes at a proportionately lower price and lower taxes? if a small family can't figure out how to live in 1,200 square feet plus a basement, there's something wrong.

Being from Nashville, I’ve been to Chicago way more times than New York City and the 3 times I’ve been to New York City, I was wishing I was in Chicago instead. Chicago is cleaner, less congestion, less expense, better skyline, better food also at a less expense, and nicer people.

Inverness is ridiculously beautiful. I have done plenty of work there, and I’m always mesmerized just how open it is. Inverness is in its own little bubble that once you leave you know you are no longer there because then you are back to regular neighborhoods where the homes are closer to each other.

No master bed and bath rooms on main floors. Only option for seniors iis a ranch floor plan.

Chicago is a lot cheaper, but has much colder winter weather. I lived in NYC for 24 years. It's amazing. There are nice neighborhoods in the Bronx, Queens and Brooklyn, that are more affordable than Manhattan. We retired to Florida. I really miss the city. Within a two block radius, we had nine different cuisines to choose from. In Florida, we have to drive to everything, and you can forget about getting good pizza down here, unless you want to drive for a half hour.

Chicago is cleaner Yada Yada Yada. There's only one City.
