Caro Joaquim, estou a acompanhar o teu belo projecto com o maior interesse. Esta quinta, que já é bonita, ficará belíssima. Parabéns! Um brasileiro, que vive na Costa Rica e que adora Portugal. Grande abraço!
That's a beautiful sunset. A reward for the end of the day. Also, I like that setup for the onions. First time I see something like that. ❤ it. God bless you all. Great job.
I really like the TH-cam! You are a world traveler, smart, a lot of knowledge and talking about whatever comes to mind, and I like it. And Portuguese and English, he's really fluent and maybe other language as well. Just want to say that! The first time I'm sending you a email ever, TH-cam. You are like me. Maybe, I'll visit you, but not today. I'm waiting for your next video.
Wo derfull to see the progress. Love the food gardens! I found something eating my potato leaves this year. Never had it before. I do want to ask about the old days..how did they ever lift these amazing rocks since they never had machinery like we do today. Too bad about the codes. It's gotten crazy here in the USA with building codes. We built a log home and it's very hard to find insurance...anyway..we go on ...love the drying rack!!!
Truly enjoying you videos.. Might be a good shortish video on the nuances of building permits and codes . People don't understand just how restrictive they can be ..and just how much power the permitting folk have that and how subjectively they can interpret the rules and regs .. from local councillors up
Only 3 months and you have a harvest. You could get a second harvest possibly if you plant again? You are still alone, not for too much longer I hope. Have a good week, I look forward to your next video. Your Stone Mason is doing an amazing job considering his age - Beautiful work!!
I agree with you concerning temporary, inevitably they do become permanent. What part of Canada are you from, I’m in oakville outside of Toronto. Very big Portuguese community here.🇨🇦
That's an interesting issue: "Not the biggest fan of building temporary things because theres' always the chance of their becoming permanent." In one sense, everything is temporary anyway, but if you do a 'temporary' job and it becomes permanent, that might just be because your temporary job was excellent!
I totally agree. Temporary things can always be called prototypes. A real hit is when the prototype doesn’t need any improvements, and the initial idea works to perfection. Thanks for your comment.
100% is totally idiotic and is especially prevalent across Southern Europe... combined with backhanders or corruption.. You can't extend on old building, (home) you can't convert old barns or outbuildings into living spaces, but if the right "fees" are paid , it may then be possible.. We had an old house ,my childhood home still in the family built in the early mid 1700s. grey sandstone walls, sandstone flag floors. We wanted to renovate to make it a bit more modern and usable. I was to spend several months back home to manage and finish. Council said must insulate stone walls , They already were treated up to damp roof level.. so we querried that demand and hired an independent insulation and energy consultant.. he noted on his report that wall were made of 16" +/- 1 inch grey sandstone, and added that only an idiot would demand 4" of insulation be placed on interior of exterior walls.. Their inspector and his boss returned did field inspection and the boss agreed with the consultant who was soon to be his boss. Thereby punting the "inspector" who had happened to be my apprentice many years prior, stupid then, still stupid he is. And he now cuts grass for a living as he couldn't join hands never mind two pieces of lumber.
As much as I don’t like to be governed, I do have the permits. The system here is somewhat archaic, so it’s better to work with an architect who’s going to deal with the burocracia for you.
A glorious place to sit at the end of the day and enjoy a glass of wine.
Such an amazing journey! Thank you for sharing it!!!
Our pleasure!

Your house will look amazing when you have finished!
Thank you, it’s a lot of fun
The rebuilt stone walls look beautiful. My grandparents always put potatoes on mounds That may help too. I am no gardener though. Best wishes.
Thank you
Great job!!!
Thank you
Thanks Joaquim for your vid 😇💗💗💗 love and bless you, your doing great work 👍😁💯😊 and watching the sunset 💞.
So much progress. Amazing.
Thank you!
How did the original builders manage the big stones up high? Enjoy watching you rebuild your grandparents house.
Great question, thanks

Thanks, I’m glad you’re enjoying my project
The most simple device was the gin pole or maybe the shaduf.

Great suggestion!

I lived in Toronto for 27 years and spent the last ten in Prince Edward County

Portugiesen machen wunderbareNatursteinmauern ❤ und Pflaster das wird bestimmt sehr schön 😊 Grüße aus Deutschland
Excelente conteúdo. Continue a partilhar Sr. Joaquim.
Uma questão, o que colocou e em que proporções no borrifador?
Obrigado
I understand the need for building codes for the most part but it seems ridiculous to impose them on a historical building reconstruction.
Totally agree

Codes arent fezable on historic homes ..old world builders are needed
@Joaquim_Conde
I assume you have permits for all these structures. Is it difficult to get building permissions? Is the bureaucracy too thick?
As much as I don’t like to be governed, I do have the permits.
