Thanks for the tip!
You got it, rockstar - lemme know what to post next!!
Dude thanks so much. Probably saved me days of screwing around.
Awesome; I love to hear that... what are you building???
Any advice for debloating Windows (specifically 11)? I'm only really planning to use Windows occasionally for development when I need to test something in Windows, so I'm not particularly concerned with keeping it fully functional as a daily driver, just speeding it up and generally removing as much spyware as possible.
Maybe this can be a new video topic... I don't love Windows, but I certainly do debloat it when I must use it!!! Lemme simmer on this one for a bit!
Greetings from Denmark. At almost 70 I took up this challenge. Ubuntu user for a few years but total newbie with arch and even more new to Hyprland, but I wanna learn. You're a genius. I just followwed your instructions and now Hyprland is running. On I go to the config part. Very excited here. Thanks man.
Thats awesome... sure is fun learning this new stuff, isn't it?!??! ... we have to build everything; a far cry from the MS-DOS and qbasic that we remember from yesteryear. Really glad you're here - thanks for watching this goofy old cat. :P
Damn that's a half decent company.
Considering when you buy new you get a 3 (or 5) year warranty, and SPD HDDs are generally 1/2 the price, I'm liking them!!
Man I wish there were more stores like this in canada. I actually got 2 one gig 48 port net switches on fb marketplace.
Switches at RE-PC are an awesome deal. I also find temporary HDD spares in case of drive failure in my servers... so much awesomeness to dig thru!
@techheart6090 you've invoked jealousy
Cool setup, but I like to use Nextcloud. It's like your own self-hosted Google Drive, you can even get plugins that give you file editing like MS Office.
Pretty cool setup! Have you considered using usenet instead? It does cost a little money per month, but it's a lot safer than torrents. You also don't need a VPN for it since it encrypts using SSL.
nano is for peasant
Lol - it served me well when I didn't know vim. If that's someone out there, just uninstall nano and start using vim!!!
@@techheart6090 Yeah me too, until I found Geany, I've become a scum😅
Man, I love my framework. I got a framework 16 back in August for school and I love it! It runs great. I'm running it with Hyprland on arch. I also got the gpu upgrade with it and it's fantastic. It runs everything from hardware accelerated office apps to games perfect and boots up in 6 seconds.
They are awesome machines - have any videos about yours???
@techheart6090 No, I haven't, sorry. I've never done anything in the content creation before, so I don't usually record anything.
Hi!!! Can you please do a video and writen guide on how to manually install Arch Linux with systemd-boot, Btrfs and a separate swap partition? It would help alot of people that want to install i from scratch. You made a video about manually install Arch Linux ext4 with sauce but please do one with Btrfs, systemd-boot and swap and if possible with extra sauce!!! With kind regards Oliver from Sweden
I'm gonna try to get this video out by Christmas-great idea!! I'll add some new sauce too, and send any other requests yall have!!!
Did you buy the manufacturer recertified hard drive or the seller refurbished ones?!!
Manufacturers recertified is what i suggest. They come with a 2yr warranty that's serviced right at SPD. Be on the lookout in the next few days for a follow-up SPD video covering that, too!!!
Great tutorial
hyprland instantly freezes when i start a session with it, i give up, for me it never got to work correctly, maybe cause my gpu is nvidia, i dont know i3 really is the best, for me at least.
Nvidia support is tricky - I'll try to make a video when I have the time, thanks!
@@techheart6090 thanks my friend!!
Same situation here with thinkpad/nvidia + integrated intel gpu - I also noticed the password echoes to the screen in the clear as you type it (don't have the view pw enabled)
I like your nano😂
Lol - I tend to just say nano as lots of my viewers are new to Linux... maybe I should explain that more.
If I was ServerPartDeals, I'd sue you for defamation by implying in your title that my business was a "scam". You did this as clickbait...so you're a confirmed clickbait channel. I'll share my opinions regarding this channel on every social media site I frequent. No wonder you have a laughably miniscule number of subs.
Wow, you're a nice human. ServerPartDeals thanked said they liked it and passed the link around their offices - in fact i have a new ServerPartDeals video coming out within 48hrs!! Be sure to come by and watch it - or suggest a title. :P
@@techheart6090 I'm a nicer human than you since I'm not a clickbaiter. People visiting YT don't like ads and they don't like clickbait. No one believes that ServerPartDeals would visit a tiny nothing channel and find it alright that it accused them of perpetrating a scam. You should look up the word "scam" or more likely have an adult do it for you, and then identify the timestamp where you begin to explain their "scam".🤡
I had some 16TB exos drives from them in the past, all have been working fine for two years. Just ordered 4x 18TB exos drives.. all appear to be DOA. Tried multiple PSUs, all indicate power or drive motor failures. Not a single drive is detected by the LSI-2308 in IT/HBA mode on the latest stable build of unRaid. I reached out to them for support, we’ll see how they do.
A question I d like to ask you, Garuda and Arch generally has more performance in gaming comparing to Ubuntu and it's variants ?
IMO, that's subjective- one could bloat up Arch too and make it not a good gaming platform. However, the SteamDeck is an Arch derivative and it's all gaming - check out SteamOS if you want the complete console setup, and yea vanilla Arch or Garuda will get Steam running nicely... :)
Thank you for your work ! Too much fun at the Bubble bobble moment. You sing... like me 🙂
BUBBLE BOBBLE for the win!! My favorite game. We'll that and Atari 2600 Berzerk or NES Tetris.... thanks for commenting.
A Canary appliance is about €600, not $2,500
Or, just spin up yer own for FREE! Glad you're here...
I'm not OK with flatpaks, they make Linux worse than Windows (FU Canonical, Hello Debian!). So no thumb up and subscription for you.
Canonical is snaps, right? I don't like snaps but do utilize Flatpak's at times... why do you hate them so much???
@@techheart6090 Canonical is Flatpak, Snap, Parental control... Flatpak is essentially Microsoft store for Linux, an attempt to corner the market and exclude apt. Flatpak works through portals that can't be controlled by user or sudo. They literally hijack the file system.
greetings from Egypt .. nice tutorial .. was very informational

Excellent instructions. The most thorough Qdevice install on Pi that I have run across. Thank you - Uncle Bob
Thank you kindly - the quorum node has served me well, but its about to get decommissioned by a Dell r730xd! Yay!!!! Thanks...
Worked great, thank you. Install on Dell r730 with a Perc H730 mini 12Gbps SAS Controller. The only thing that was different was the PCI number, I just type "sudo lspci | grep raid" mine was 03:00.0. Then just used this and carried on to find the id of the card. All seems to be working. Many thanks.
Nice! I just got a Dell r730xd; maybe you have some videos that I'll need to watch!!! :P Can't wait to get it into production...
What's the scam? "The ServerPartDeals Scam, Explained"
I had a lot of negative feedback about the title - the VidIQ app helped me create it, hmmmm. That being said, I have a new ServerPartDeals video coming out in a day or two - give it a watch and I'm always up for feedback!!
2 things. 1. forget that dumb hackerman green scrolling text, it does nothing but make you look cringey. 2. your voice is all over the place. pick a tone and stick with it
Arguably the best arch Linux install guide for some reason is better than others even though it is made for hyprland I used arch install grip for it to brick my usb and my laptop but this archfi smoke is good
w0wsers; thanks kindly, I just install that sucker and press record. :P A new Arch video is coming up - a viewer requested Arch w/ systemd, btrfs and some other things... I'll add some new SAUCE on top and release it before Christmas! Thanks for your words!!!
I found out about this video while installing proxmox on r730 server It's really cool. Thank you for the high quality video I think I'll watch a lot of your passionate videos in the future. They're the best!
miss those days, was so much more organic and underground. I assume you did your share of mudding as well ? :) great job love your channel
I love this tutorial man! You installed hyprland from the start instead of using an install script that I mostly see others uses. It was amazing tutorial! Give a like
Lemme know what you want to install next!
0:43 did I just hear the coin sound from super Mario?
That's been in the Arch ibstaller systemd boot for awhile - in fact, I should do a video of how to put it in an arch install!
This script is awesome thanks for the tip😇
I love Hyprland! I'll keep making tutorials.
any torrent tracker recommendations? :)
I recently added flaresolverr for this exact issue; it works well and gets you covered for trackers, too - may revisit the .torrent stack videos again in the future...
I've tried it 3 times now. Each time I failed at the following things: 1. I don't know anything about Docker and find Docker very complicated. That's why I couldn't mount a network drive for the photos. 2. How do you make automatic updates, because there is so often a new version. 3. How do I get my jpg file without the immich app? Because I would like to back up the pictures again.
1. You just need to mount your NAS share; I use NFS for Linux as it mounts easily - maybe I can do a video just covering how to mount a NAS NFS share on a Linux docker container... 2. Since we used docker-compose, just: docker compose down docker compose pull <-- (This will upgrade the docker containers) docker compose up -d 3. cd /Immich-Pictures-directory/library/admin ls Theres yer pictures. :P Hope this answer helps a little...
Geek stuff, loving it man:)
More to come, rockstar!
Bruh.... Get a rug or something. That echo is killing me
I so can't figure out my damn audio... if you listen to other videos I've tried different settings - I just don't get it, Yeti Blue. :/ WORKING ON IT.
You have a then than typo in your thumbnail
I suppose you're right. I'll remember to change tonight -couldn't figure out a 'cool' Immich thumbnail. :/ Thanks!!
if i made a video like this it would be "why you should buy your own hard drive instead of renting one on another pc" :) ps: i don't use cloud storage. everybody wants to see your files and even better if you pay them every month, it's crazy to me why people do this.
Self-host everything!!
Should've got more RAM for that tablet, or at the very least purchased a more premium model. Also the thumbnail and title feel misleading. I would change the title to something like "How to put apps on SD card" or whatever
Great point. I got a TMobile deal, and needed a separate wifi plan - was going to pay the same $20/mo with NO device so I chose to take a 2yr plan because I was going to keep it for that long away. Agreed- if this video was a review I'd suggest an S9 or the best A9+...
Why does the thumbnail for this video show an S9?
This 'hack' works on any Galaxy Tab running Android 14. In fact, many other tablets too - but I wanted to include multiple Tab models so people would know to click.
Yeah,that's a bummer.
What part???
My hyprland is only 8 mb small and doesn’t show up as display manager to choose
Did you follow the instructions for installation???
!! Is shorthand for repeating the last command. So, if you forget to type sudo then you can just run sudo !!
Also grub is bloat
I love grub - FTW!!! :P
@@techheart6090 efibootmgr all day
Thank you TechHeart! Clear and great video. The upgrade is worked beautifully on my 2017 27" iMac.
Nice - I'm still liking my fix; one important thing.. When you see update pop-ups in the future, don't automatically do them. Goto the website and check for issues with you hardware years and software version. Only upgrade if you've checked for issues.
@@techheart6090 Will do. Thanks again.
archfi did nothing thhink it gt replaced with the archinstall script
I'll have to look into that - maybe a new video for 2025 is needed.... archfi has always [historically] worked well for me. I WILL investigate, tho!!
@@techheart6090 any news? because I followed everything you did, yet when I rebooted it sent me to the installation menu again
Thanks for the input. This is actually the first time I've played with any .torrent helpers. TBH, TechHut released a .torrent stack video a day after mine and it's much better. Also, while I did use pia-qbittorrent I've since used wire guard to put ALL containers behind PIA. Thanks for the comment - might make another .torrent video...
What an awkward intro. While I can respect wanting to stick with the Starr suite, I prefer Homepage over Homarr. Also, I feel like you should have at least mentioned Jellyfin and Jellyseerr as an open source alternative to Plex that mostly "just works" and doesn't require you to pay anything and doesn't try to push ad filled streaming services. It's also a bit odd that you chose pia/OpenVPN over Wireguard. As for missing docker apps, you missed quite a few. As a bare minimum, you need FlareSolverr for Prowlarr captcha, Unpackerr for archive extraction, Lidarr for music, Bazarr for subtitles, subcleaner to remove ads from subs and Trailarr for trailers. You will probably also want Shoko for anime, Suwayomi for manga, Kavita for books, Readarr and Kapowarr also for books, Tdarr for automatic transcoding, Vuetorrent theme for qBit and qBit_manage to get around some of the limitations of the web ui. A few bonuses are Wizarr, ErsatzTV, Kodi (client) for HTPCs, Audiobookshelf, OpenBooks and cobalt downloader. This video is one of the few I've seen to go through it step by step. Oh, don't mention cobalt in a video. YubTub will absolutely take it personally.
@45:21 did you mean we have to add splash inside hooks of /etc/mkinitcpio.conf?
no splash goes in grub not mkinitcpio.
What about web reading, web kindle reading? and audio file to text?
Hmmm - I'm sure theres a solution out there...
The video title is Speech to Text, not Text to Speech, but the video content is almost all about text to speech.
You're right - sorry about that, I'll make changes.
