I am planning to jump from an Apple watch. At this point based on your reviews, leaning to the TRex. Curious about iPhone integration. Can you send text replies from the watch? I am not really concerned about the ability to take calls or use payments from my watch. I do however use the text replies pretty often from my watch currently. The mapping maybe gives me pause, but given my lifestyle, I dont think its a big deal do download the given map ahead of time. Maybe I am wrong there or dont understand completely.

The three deciding factors for me (current Amazfit Falcon user, I went with Fenix 8 51mm/AMOLED/Sapphire) were: -HRV Accuracy (Fenix 8 samples 1/s whereas T-Rex 3 samples at most 1/min outside of activities) -Built-in flashlight, I think this is a plus over the screen, although 2k nits does change that equation a bit. -Speaker in addition to mic. Bonuses were music options and GPS nav.

when is a new update comming from you? Fenis 8 43mm for $1000 or Epix pro 42mm for $720? What would you choose

Ordered my Fenix 8 last week. Really lo 25:02 oking forward to getting it in hand. When I used an iPhone I wore an apple watch ultra 2. Now that I'm using a pixel device I use the pixel watch 3 and I often forget I have the watch. I was fortunate enough to get 20% off the 51mm amoled version with my insurance discount.

Great review. Just subscribed seeing your amazing work behind this review. I'm really confused about choosing between the Amazfit Balance and the T-Rex 3. My budget is suited more towards the Balance. I want accurate GPS and fitness tracking and versatility (as a smartwatch) but I am also worried about the durability of the glass on Balance. I fear it might get scratches, dents or break if it falls off from a top surface. Also, will I be able to swim in a pool with the Balance for an hour or two? If not then I will have to add more bucks and buy the T-Rex 3.

Great cover, Garmin need to work to open up to their product for usability and connectivity to all services, and the GPS meseges, will make me realy switch to Garmin

In navigation when you follow a track the orientationa jumps around. To solve it you can fix the map on north but... For me is a big issue.

This is such a good deal....You have to be out of your mind to buy garmin when other companies like samsung with the "ultra" are half the price that can be traded in after years of use and updated....garmin does not support their products nearly as well as samsung. Dont get stuck with a $1000.00 paper weight like I did....garmin customer service is the worst.

As far as points of interest, I know zepp has partnered with komoot. You send maps from komoot to the watch, so maybe that would be beneficial.

It is great that you have dispelled the myth that their bodybattery is too positive and cannot recognize the real picture of the state after waking up. It is just that all the bloggers who wore them for 3 days needed to do this for at least a week. Even Garmin writes in the user manual that collecting data, depending on what indicators, can take up to several months. By the way, this also applies to VO2 Max. About data confidentiality - this is very useful information for me. Now I have no doubts about the choice.

Fantastic review! I love Garmin but it’s hard for me to justify it with how I train. Trex gives you a similar look and experience for much cheaper. Tempted to pick one up

Amazing i went from Trex2 to the 3 and how good the watch now is for cycling. To a point I can easily compare to my chest strap. Even workout now, i take few samples of my heart beat, and it is on pair every single time. The battery life is a little disappointing compare to my old Trex2, but it was just about 4 days less.

This watch is a very good candidate to win the award the best beginner adventure smartwatch of the year. Because if you go to the wild you cannot count with the navigation features in the watch, its a good watch for outdoors beginners and thats it. But i believe 90% of people not use navigation features on his life, for this 90% this is a good buy, the chinese zepp knowing very well what need to do to catch costumers. very well done video Dave❤❤

What a great review. Owned an earlier version of an Amazfit and found it to be pretty good. Ultimately, I purchased a Garmin Phoenix 7 after trying several others, including Suunto. I've been super happy with the Garmin. However, this new Amazfit seems really compelling, especially at the price point.

Or just being able to add a custom Exercise to the workout. Currently you can only select exercises already on the list (unless there’s another way of doing customization of an exercise)

thanks for the reveiw, loved it. just a suggestion: exact look n feel of the watch on the wrist, especially if the wrist is small. what are your measurement of wrist and how it looks would be a good peace of information. as u know optics also matters.

Get the apple ultra 2 or galaxy ultra....both are supported by their companies where garmin has horrible customer service. I know from experience, my fenix had an issue with a premature failing of the screen and they did nothing a frankly could care less. Instead of doing that, I traded my 4 year old galaxy 4 for the ultra for 50% of what I paid. Thats crazy....you cant do that with Garmin...they sell you a product that is outdated in 2 years for the highest price point and dont take care of their customers...never again will I buy a garmin.
