I'm Filipino at heart, I was born and raised in Cebu City and spoke Tagalog when I was young, but now that I am a Filipino American I can still understand my home language when I go home to Cebu and visit my family.
Almost 44 years loving these United States...left the PI @ almost 16 years old and never looked back. After 2 failed marriages, I gave joy to my parents when I finally chose to marry a Filipina. Didn't realize how much I've lost touch speaking Tagalog. Even after 18+ years of marriage, I can't keep up with her especially the deep Tagalog words. I'm impressed by this guy to say the least...mad props!
Kasi yong ibang pilipino maarte i was born sa us look ang galing kong magtagalog and write ✍️
❤
Thank you for sharing this. As a military brat, I support US military and thank you for his service!
I am an American retired in the Philippines and I can think of no other place in the world I would rather be. I married my Filipino wife in 1998 and vowed one day I would return to retire. Best decision I have ever made in my life.
Ang ganda naman ni cassie nagagandahan ako sa kanya ah....
nakakamanghang ganda! 🇵🇭❤️
The title should say Veteran Speaks Tagalog Better Than "Most" Filipino Americans
These two americans are taking so much screentime from the main focus of the video which should be Kurt!
Wow.....pakiramdam ang puso ni Kuya Kurt for the Philippines talaga❤❤❤❤❤💯💯💯💯💯💯
Hi! Thank you for the insipiration that you advocate. As a Cebuano who can also speak Tagalog, this is very heartwarming. I also do hope you can feature other Filipino languages outside of Tagalog. More power and God bless!
In fairness, he's speaking Pilipino. A composite language reliant heavily on Tagalog language. This medium of communication was adopted as the national language allowing various groups within the Philippines to communicate.
Kurt you are one of us. Salamat sa pagmamahal sa Pilipinas.
❤❤🙏🙏❤️❤️
Redin😊g 😊this makes me cry,!,,
Parang may mali! Dapat ang sinabi nyo sa umpisa ng Video ay marunong at nagsasalita kayo nang Pilipino. dahil ang "Tagalog" ay isa sa Diyalekto (Dialect) ng Pilipinas.
There are Two Kinds of Tagalog First Yung Malalim or Deep Tagalog And Second one is Mababaw na Tagalog or Basic Tagalog That east To Speak and Understand Because Malalim or Deep Tagalog is Something Akward or Makaluma or Very Vintage kind of Tagalog that Spoke By Our Ancestors During Spanish, American era and During Japanese Invasion
2:43 bahaha 😂❤
Kidkat Tahimik is not just a jeepney driver,he is also a tough guy! He is one of our finest artist,Phil.national artist! Salute Mr.Kidlat Tahimik Mabuhay ka!

Genius indeed
This video beautifully captured the essence of what it means to be Filipino-love, share, and care for one another. It’s a powerful reminder that, despite our differences, we are all connected and united in this journey, just like being on the same boat. This sense of community and solidarity is truly at the heart of our identity, and it makes me proud to be Filipino.
Well-said! :)
Watching this video really hit home for me as a Filipino. It beautifully captures not just our breathtaking landscapes but also the heart of who we are-our sense of community, resilience, and the deep connection we have to our land. It’s a powerful reminder of how our shared values and natural beauty make the Philippines such a special place, no matter where we are.
We have the same alphabet so we/ you can read any words in Tagalog syllable by syllables.
MARAMING SALAMAT KUYA KURT !
The PI is so understated. Cuisine is off da hook. Islands are beautiful. People are kind and respectful. Best karaoke singers lol speak proper English better than a lot of us Americans. Philippines is just different from all the other Asian countries.
And if you voted for trump, then you're going home!
Marami na ngayong hindi ina-appreciate ang language natin. It starts at home where English is spoken especially to the children. I find it absurd. Most claim to be Filipinos but are speaking in English. Remember that English is only a 2nd language in our country.
She’s more Filipino than actual Filipino nowadays
As we progress, it’s natural to admire and be influenced by other countries, opening our minds to diversity and inspiring us to explore new cultures and sceneries. However, this should not lead us to disregard the unique beauty of our own homeland, both in its stunning landscapes and in the warmth, resilience, and generosity of the Filipino people. The natural beauty of the Philippines, with its serene beaches, majestic mountains, and lush greenery, reflects the character of its people-vibrant, hospitable, and deeply connected to their surroundings. While we may appreciate other nations, we must strive to protect and enhance the gems of our country, ensuring they remain a source of pride and identity. Genuine appreciation for the Philippines, not just for clout but from the heart, reflects our commitment to honoring our roots and embracing our shared heritage.
Filipinos often feel disconnected from a distinct identity due to the layers of colonization and foreign influence in our history. However, our Austronesian ancestors embody the roots of our unique culture, shaped by their seafaring skills, sense of community, and collaborative spirit. These values of unity and resilience still define how we face modern challenges, from natural disasters to societal struggles. Being Filipino is not just about tangible traditions but also about virtues like bayanihan, the spirit of communal cooperation, and pakikipagkapwa, our empathy and respect for others. These traits are living reminders of our authentic heritage and continue to guide our interactions and contributions to society. By embracing this heritage, we reaffirm that our identity is not borrowed but deeply rooted in our shared values and history.
Thank you Katrin for loving the Filipino culture.😊
look at when there was hurricane in the Parts of U.S people are almost dying if thier house flown away, , in the philippines, , is way different, , look on evacuation centers everyone is even smiling and laugh
N*zi 😂
This reflection beautifully connects the natural beauty of the Philippines with the warmth of its people. It highlights how the stunning landscapes and rich biodiversity mirror the kindness and hospitality of Filipinos. The idea of kapwa, which means seeing ourselves in others, is a powerful reminder of how Filipinos treat each other like family, no matter where they are. This sense of community and shared identity is truly special and shows that the real beauty of the Philippines lies not just in its scenery, but in the hearts of its people.
This reflection on what it means to be Filipino really captures the heart of Filipino culture. It shows how important community, cooperation, and kindness have always been, starting from the time of the Austronesians. The idea of bayanihan highlights how Filipinos help each other, whether at home or around the world. This strong sense of togetherness reminds us that our identity is not just about where we come from, but about the bonds we create with one another. In the end, we are all united in our journey, no matter where we are.
You need to learn how to pronounce the tagalog language, It is si frustrating with Filipino blood can’t pronounce the tagalog words In Tagalog words, the R in every word, has to be pronounce hard, not english

Well done, Xiao! Well done! Kapanalig ka ng Sikolohiyang Pilipino movement. SP na SP ka! - Rogee Pe-Pua
pilipinos are very special foreigner so that they love foreigners😅😅😅
I am not a native Tagalog speaker. My family speaks Visaya. However, God gave me the opportunity to serve in communities in Manila as a Youth Worker/Volunteer for a church. Praying in English felt very awkward in the communities, so I regularly asked the Youth Leaders to lead the prayers and picked-up the words they used. (By the way, there are words you use in deep respect, especially towards God, or elders, or community leaders. There are also words you use in regular day-to-day conversations, informal discussions, even jokes.) Simply put, I learned to listen, and eventually learned to use the words myself. 😊
2 napaka galing mag tagalog
Awesome
Thank you Maam for loving us.
it's a blessing that the Filipinos are loving and welcoming, despite this, we are a fracture nation and squabble among ourselvevs. But woe to whom ever thinks we are a country if pushovers. May nations have come and have tasted how ferocious the Filipinos are when provoked.
Filipino ako din
