Thank you for telling our story guys!🥹We're super happy to be a part of this journey with you all and deeply appreciate the warm embrace and love from the Filipino community🇵🇭It's a joy to share how much we experience the bayanihan spirit everywhere we go😭Love you team!!!!
Thank you for this feature on @MomDuty and the Ocampo family. I have been a close follower of their family via TH-cam . It was really heartwarming. It made me appreciate my Filipino identity all the more. Living in Scandinavia for over twenty years and serving the healthcare sector, iba talaga ang mga Pilipino! The focus on how family is so important in the Filipino culture really melted and shred my heart into pieces at the same time. I have not been home for so long. That’s entirely another long story. Anyway, congratulations and thank you @TheFilipinoStoryStudio for the excellent job you are doing. You have a new subscriber and follower from this faraway part of the globe.
The story of MomDuty was really inspiring. I've alway been proud being Filipino but their story makes me feel even more proud and thankful that our Loving God has raised me in this beautiful country. Thank you Filipino Story for coming out with this amazing episodes to awaken those Filipinos whose to abandon their identity and embraced foreign cultures.
No doubt about the kindness of Filipinos. We can't thank enough our first teacher of our little at her kindergarten at int'l school. The way that Filipino teacher took care of her made our girl wanted to have a trip to Philippines. And we just spent 6 days there as our girl's summer trip. Now when she's back from the trip she still wants to be there next summer not her hometown, Bogotá b.c she said the Filipinos are so friendly and helpful. She could feel that during our trip there. And actually before our trip, I watched many Philippines videos of Mum Duty to have an overview about the country we gonna visit. Thanks a lot Mum Duty channel for making such amazing videos which inspire us a lot.
I always say that A country is not what defines the people but the people that defines the country and nothing is more evident in stating that Filipinos, in the Philippines are the best example of this. We have that genuine and sincere sense of compassion, acceptance and love that blooms whenever we meet people especially non-filipinos. We always want to share, have them experience and be a part of our community unbiasedly. The Ocampo family along with their close friends, the Lockwoods and all other Non-Filipinos who have considered and lived in the Philippines calling it "home" gives the best testaments of how impactful and resonating the Filipino culture is. We are proud to share our cultue, our heritage and history to anyone who wants to embrace Filipinos. I don't find these qualities elsewhere as well and hope we further enlighten and inspire others to meet Filipinos and be welcomed! Kudos to your channel and may you further reach more viewers and grow your channel exuberantly! ❤🎉
I was on the edge of giving up my Filipino side due to all the craziness going on there. But BECAUSE OF THE FILIPINO STORY, it gave me clarity on why I SHOULD BE PROUD of being a Filipino. So so proud of you all! And thanking for creating this and educating me more!!
We do not want what was happening in the country too but we have no choice but to live with what we have despite it all. This is the only country we have and we are happy with the community we built.
This made me cry.. ❤🙏🥲i can relate to this so much.. ❤️🙏🥲growing up in the states as a filipino-american .. striving to find a sense of belonging all my life.. growing up with 0 filipino friends.. it didn’t matter were i went , i never ever felt I belonged.. having a heart of gold, i guess i got that from my ancestors ❤️🙏🥲🥰✨🙏now finally sometime next year i will finally visit the land where my parents are from.. here i come Philippines.. ❤🙏🥲🥰😊☝️😇🙌✨💯✊✌️😁
I ENJOYED WATCHING AND LISTENING TO YOUR STORY ABOUT OUR COUNTRY AND YOUR LOVE OF OUR CULTURE, AND OTHERS. WITH OPEN ARMS, WELMOME AND BE A PART TO ENRICH OUR CULTURE. MABUHAY.
I love that Mom had the opportunity to understand and immerse in Filipino culture, but I hope she would also have the same opportunity with the Mexican culture, if she hasn't yet. We have a lot of similarities with the Mexicans. Love from Davao City 😊❤
I would welcome stories of the 'average' or more 'ordinary' Filipino families. My siblings were raised and educated in Baguio by my grandparents because our parents immigrated to the US for economic reasons. Though we have lived on the east coast for longer than our time back in the Philippines, we still feel 100% Filipino. My son who was born and raised here and understands Tagalog, eats dinuguan, and has met his great grandparents back in Baguio. His close friends are also mostly Filipino children born and raised here and he married a wonderful young lady who's also Pinay. We are blessed.
Your video rocks. Great video. Myself (Tex-Mex) Texan Mexican. My first experience in the Philippines when first arrived on 4 February 1977 deployed with U.S. Marines. I felt the warmest of the Pilipino people automatically. I still continue to make several visits to the Philippines. Currently living in Japan nearly 35 years with my Japanese wife.
As a Puerto Rican American, who has visited the Philippines several times and is married to a Filipina in the states, this piece was not only emotional, entertaining, but heartwarming in every aspects of family, community & life. I’m totally grateful & blessed for my childhood Filipino friends, that introduced me to the Filipino culture. And, it was the Filipinos that taught me the rosary, as a teenager back in the 70’s. I’m forever an honorary Filipino in my heart. I love the Philippines, the people and the culture. Peace. 🙏🏻❤️
Filipinos change when you step off the tourist path and you work and do everyday life day in day out 9-5 as f”foreigner”as we referred to with the common folk. This is painting a picture that not every one gets to experience. I am half that or exists though I would 90% don’t get to live this and make this reality
You guys should do a vlog collaboration with Bimbo Cornejo vlogs. Bimbo is married to an Indian woman name Shama and they have a Filipino-Indian daughter named Shanaya
This video spoke to me. I’m Filipino and my wife is Chinese. When she first met my family, they welcomed her with open arms. My mom treated her like she was her own daughter and my older sister was joking and teasing her as if she was her sister.
That's what we have in our hearts "Kapwa"! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience! We love when our community engaged with us. Please continue supporting and let's all discover the beauty of the Filipinos!
Wow, unique content compared to other content creators, and I think this kind of content will hit the Filipino-Americans out there. Anyway, no offense is meant to these Filipino-Americans who grew up and were raised in other countries, denying their Filipino blood; maybe part of this is to their parents. Maybe they don't incorporate in their children's minds the fact that they are Filipinos, and all they see is the poverty, crimes, and hardships of life that they (parents) suffered before venturing to the US. People around the world are dreaming of going to the US, the land where it is called American Dreams, the land of opportunities and greener pasture. But that dream was in the old days, when life was easy and there were lots of opportunities for Filipino immigrants. Today, the US is the center of news, especially on TH-cam, about the ongoing crisis in the US, such as the closure of other businesses in the US today. Anyway, nice content so far.
I just read an on-line news article about Filipinos in Canada. Here's what it says: 1. Of the 20 most commonly reported ethnic and cultural origins in the Canadian population, three were asians: Chinese (close to 1.8 M); Indian (approximately 1.4 M) and Filipino (838,130) based on May 2016 census. 2. In April 2018, Filipinos numbered around 901,218. 3. In 2020, the poverty rates for the three largest groups in Canada were higher than the national average: South asians (7.5%); Chinese (9.6%); and, black (7.5%). A notable difference was FILIPINO with a POVERYY RATE BELOW THE NATIONAL AVERAGE AT 3.6% in 2020 4. In March 2022, the EMPLOYMENT RATE FOR FILIPINOS AGED 25 TO 54-YEAR-OLD WAS 88%, THE HIGHEST AMONG ALL VISIBLE MINORITY GROUPS. It was also higher than the rate for non-visible minority Canadians in the same age group which was at 84.8%. 5. Among the different population groups, Filipinos (4.2%); Koreans 4.3%) and South Asians (4.5%) had among the LOWEST UNEMPLOYMENT RATES in the population aged 25 to 54 in March 2022. So, Filipinos are doing good in Canada! Good job mga kababayan, Keep it up and may you have more blessings. May the Lord bless you all.
Thank you for creating this channel! New subscriber here, and I'm just starting to go through your videos. I'll definitely check out @MomDuty soon. I am also asking my family in the US to watch this video and all the other videos in this channel, particularly their kids who grew up away from Filipino culture and influence. I hope they enjoy it as much as myself.
It’s a beautiful experience and expectations. What about Health Care Coverage and Costs. We always plan to go home. But it makes us think 3 times because we are insecured of traveling without MEDICARE HEALTH Insurance. Here in NY we feel the security because we have coverage for almost every thing we need.
That is the closest to being Mexican you can get without being around a Mexican family. The close family ties, the feasts. We have so much in common due to our Spanish roots.
Life is great and everyone is friendly to you in the Philippines if you have money 🤷🏻♂️ A lot of the niceties that people with means experience in the Philippines like the BGC “lifestyle” and being able to visit all those nice places is out of reach for you average Filipino.
I would agree. Many are considered lower middle income, and the lifestyle of the Ocampos aren’t a reality for most. It’s definitely a bubble. I do hope our fellow kababayan’s affluence and standard of living improves to upper-middle income in our lifetime.
You’re forgetting to mention 1 main point. They are well off with money. Especially where your average Filipino does not receive the same rearmed With out money. The common denominators is that Filipinos are happy and believe in family no matter what life brings. If the family were living as a local in the same situation in colon Cebu, would life be the same?
I mean you can literally talk to a stranger and end up talking for more than an hour yeah though it kinda is hard for the introverts here due to the fact if you are one usually people think you're interesting and tries to talk with you (from my observation) and it can get really overwhelming for them (my friend told me this)

This is nice…but they live in an “americanize” part of Philippines..basically america but with filipinos with Filipino culture..everyone helping with expecting anything in return is obviously the difference between the american “tip” culture…i havent watch any of their videos but i hope they would live or explore provinces or urban parts of Philippines to get full experience
Uhm, completly and totally unrelated to the content creators above I would like you to make a video about the issue of "Pinoy-Baiting"... Because it is a big and controversial topica that needs to be tackled. What it is, why Filipinos are prone to it and how to discern honest people from those who just use it as a tool. It is different in Pinas. I am from Montreal, Canada...its not the same...

Yes! Because the Philippines is limited only to Metro Manila and Luzon. Stay out of the Visayas and Mindanao
