    My dad was a perfectionist body man. When he plied his trade. There was no bondo or filler primers. He worked the metal to perfection every time. He taught me the same. Oxy/Acet. Weld a bit. Dress it then repeat. When TIG arrived I was told it was just like Oxy/Acet. I treat it like that. Weld a bit. Dress it and repeat. Leaving very little work to finish the panel. I use a body file to emphasize the highs and lows. No need to use a marker pen 😉

    I learned years ago for collision work and always used 23 wire. What are the advantages using 35? Also, did you get a new camera? Video quantity is excellent!

    • @BeAMetalFabricator
      @BeAMetalFabricator 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      23 would probably work good especially on newer cars! Honestly the advantages are really the convenience of not having to swap out the wire if I need to weld a bracket or suspension part or something heavier than 18-20g. I find it works fine for sheet metal but thinner wire works great too. And you know I noticed the video looked nice too. I'm not sure what I did different lol it's the same camera I've always used haha

    You always do a nice job explaining the process. When I do test panels like this the panels curl a bit. I’ve seen others hammer the weld. Would you comment on that practice.

    • @BeAMetalFabricator
      @BeAMetalFabricator 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks for the compliment bro. Sometimes I watch the video back and I feel like I'm not explaining it clearly enough. So I appreciate the feedback. In my experience hammering the panel to get it straight is fine, but I have noticed hammering too much on a MiG weld will result in cracking in the sheet metal on one side of the weld.

    i lost confidence in you now using a gas thats not inert (co2) you arent mig welding you are mag welding metal inert gas welding or metal activ gas welding so its not mig in any way or form

    • @BeAMetalFabricator
      @BeAMetalFabricator 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I don't understand what your saying? What's wrong with welding with C-25? 75%argon and 25% co2, Doesn't "MiG" stand for Metal Insert Gas? Argon is inert gas....

    • @MAGLtd-hh3ct
      @MAGLtd-hh3ct 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@BeAMetalFabricator I was told the the 75/25 was good for less splatter ,and a little rust on the metal, straight co2 is great for clean metal, but creates more splatter , which for me means more cleaning afterwards,I’m no expert, but Fitzee’s fabrication has done a tutorial on mig welder set up also, and he uses the straight co2

    • @BeAMetalFabricator
      @BeAMetalFabricator 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Right. So your helping prove my point that C-25 is a more than adequate shielding gas... "Mig" stands for "Metal Inert Gas". The argon is the "Inert". Co2 is "semi inert" when your welding with Co2 it's called "MAG" which is "Metal Active gas. Co2 is also cheaper than C-20. And I prefer less clean up. It's all personal preference man. You can even use helium co2 mix. I'm not a welder but I did go to school to learn this stuff.

    • @magnusandersson6858
      @magnusandersson6858 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@BeAMetalFabricator when using a mixed gas with co2 you introduce more carbon in the welds making it practically better or harder if you wish using only inert gas that dont affect the weld is called MIG using a gas thats mixed with other gases thats not inert is called MAG welding its important to show the difference as different materials requires different combos like aluminium and stainless must use inert gases as to notmix in "impurities like carbon" but i still enjoy your vids but for me it is important to be accurate as i am a welder by trade =)

    • @BeAMetalFabricator
      @BeAMetalFabricator 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I can understand what your saying, but I don't see why using C-25 is a problem when welding mild steel as I said in the video, being that it is more superior than 100% co2. But yes pure argon gas or helium for aluminum and stainless is the correct way of doing it. But I appreciate your input, I myself am NOT a welder, I am a Fabricator and welding is only a small part of what I do. I'm not saying they way I weld is the only way to do it, I'm just showing how I do it. But thank you for watching my videos man it really helps my channel.

    the 1, 3 and 6 designation are the levels of silicon content that's purpose is to scavenge from surface contamination such as, rust, paint, oil etc etc, if the surface is clean the surface of the weld bead will have some brown looking glass in appearance on it, this is just some of it's meanings
