Amazing how with a little knowledge and something as simple as a shrinker stretcher you can turn a straight piece of metal into anything you like or there abouts . ! Cool simple to the point vid thank Tubal 👍
Good video Tubal. I can tell you have a lot of experience in knowing where to shrink and stretch. You make it look so easy. It would have taken me many hours and mistakes to do that.
Some slower shrinking and pushing the part further into the shrinker would have kept the ripples down, but planishing with a hammer and Dolly would take care of those no problem. Might have to stick it back in the shrinker a few more times after planishing but it would work
@@BeAMetalFabricator Now that is a great reply to the question! ... In my opinon anyway. I've pushed metal around since the 70s and I watch others like you do the same (never stop learning). I've seen many people do this and not explain how the reduce the ripples (tucks) in the first place. And IF they mention planishing out the metal they rarely mention re-shrinking and re-planishing until you get the results you want. Also... explaining that the stretcher can easily rip the metal was a good tip. Not that you need my validation but .. good work. I enjoy your videos, even though I have a fair bit of experience, there is always something to be learned from others.
Thank you for your comment bro I really appreciate it! I love learning from others also , and by no means do I know or clame to know everything, I still have a lot to learn. I just want to show what I have learned from doing this kind of work in the hopes to inspire the youth and others to work on their own projects and continue the trade. Thanks again for watching!
Quite possibly the best demonstration of a shrinker stretcher on TH-cam.
Dude I appreciate that!!!
