I once bought 40 expired disposable cameras. I paid for them, if I remember correctly 10eur. Took the film canisters out of them, they where 400iso 12 exposures C41. I use them as iso 100-200, and develop in diy B&W developer. It doesn't get any cheaper than this.

Have a 1d mk iii, 5d mk ii. And been having issues with both may change to nikon have a 5d classic ill keep tho

The cool thing about old pro cameras is that the quality of post-production in say Lightroom makes many major limitations seem less problematic. As long as the camera is working within its useable range of operation the files it writes should be fine in post. You’ve inspired me to revisit old equipment.

What about iso? Im guessing the iso in the disposable cam was probably 400 as that was pretty much the standard back then for cheao film (iirc) but interested to hear what others are doing

Will these work in Affinity Photo? Affinity supports raw formats and ps formats like .psd so I know there is some cross compatibility. Great video!

These old bodies are great. I have a D2H and it still works but I don’t use it as it’s far too cumbersome and I get better photos using my little x100

Hey man, I did the exact same terrible financial descision. I got myself a Red epic Mysterium X 5K which is litterally the same camera you use. I loved the video but there is something I cant figure out. I tried plugging in an external display on the HDMI port with no luck, I never got the HDMI out working. Did you had to do something in the settings to enable it?

Thanks for the review. As this is the non WR version with no covers near the mount, just wanted to know if you had to deal with dust problems on the sensor due to the prolonged usage. Also, how confident are you with using this in a hot, humid and dusty environment like mine in South East Asia?

I have several cameras and some that are years newer, but I probably use the D2Xs I have more than any other camera. One nice advantage of the D2x and D2Xs is that you can use the Nikon TC-16a teleconverter with it without modification and it gives you the last bit of autofocus for good prime lenses from the 70's and 80's. My favorite is using it with the Nikkor 400mm f/3.5

I use mine with a 50mm and 135mm nikkor analog lenses, I can take Gorgeous pics without edit, I just love my D2x.

Sorry we were not privileged! To know how to use one of those apparatuses on film where you didn't had a screen, but you had to use your eye, you had to have a sense of prediction to be able to capture the moment. Ugh, and you could not adjust the light so easily. I'm a sniper, whoop whoop.

i just remembered this video and wanted to give it a try, works exactly how i wanted it to! 23mm, f22, 1 second (to give it that shaky cam instant film look), iso 51200 (could have gone lower looking at it in lightroom - too grainy), default xt30 flash, film sim preset i already have. perfect.

Omg.. in Australia the most expensive country on earth, a roll of cheap 1shot film is $20 Kodak portra is around $50 and around $35 to get them scanned.

It‘s not related to the video but i need an opinion on something. So i‘m currently shooting on a fuji xt2 but found a sony a7 iii with two lenses for a good price, would spending the money on the switch to the a7 iii be worth it in your opinion?
