If you're talking about slither step cancels then yeah, they aren't really worth using in neutral and mostly create niche little mind games. The only exception is b3~f > up cancel, which is viable. But as a combo tool it becomes very strong. These cancels help a lot with chaining other moves after eachother without having to wait for recovery frames to end. For example, b2,1 cancel into heatburst or b2,1 cancel into 1,4... The whole snake dash/Bryan wavedash thing is kinda equivalent to taunt dashing, but it's very hard to do.

@@LawFury yeah I meant slither step lol. So many snake names in his move list lol. Gotcha maybe the cancel is so fast when I’m watching footage, I just remember in Tekken 7 I would see a lot of wall carry with slither step cancels. I’m Shinryu so I have should probably focus more on fundamentals, but practicing cancels and hard combos are too fun.

​@@pleasehelpimlost Yeah, that slither step cancel was even more important in Tekken 7 than it is now. Just keep a balance between fundamental training and fun cancels/combos :)

Yeah, I can relate my man. I had the same struggle haha I did some movement drills in practice mode to get used to it faster. For example, I spent 15 minutes just moving all over the screen with KBDs, taunt dashes, or small dashes forward into KBDs again, sidewalks, and sidesteps. Then after getting warmed up, try to do KBDs into whiff punishers. Let the practice bot approach you, KBD away from him and at some point just do for example, qcb2,4 / f4,1 / qcb1 / JU... After doing this for a few days, you'll feel much more comfortable playing with it. Also SOCD helped me perform KBD's a lot easier. In short, you exploit the leverless rules, which state that when you press back and forward at the same time, it becomes neutral. With this, you can hold down "back" the entire time and press "forward" > "down" > "forward" > "down" >... and you'll be able to perform KBD's.

Yo, you perform his wavedash, some also call it snake dash, by pressing qcf > up > qcf > up... And the reason why I get f3 out of that slither step (qcf) movement is because I cancel it with pressing up. That way I cancel the slither step motion and go back to neutral, allowing me to immediately perform f3. The full commands would be: qcf > up > qcf > up > qcf > up >f3. Yeah, I am. I've gotten pretty comfortable with it, but I'm still struggling with immediate QCF and QCB inputs. And once I switch to the P2 side I lose all my functionality haha I think it’s normal at first to struggle with adjusting to it.

Thanks man! df21~b4 grants you guaranteed Taunt if your opponent rolls. You have to ssl or ssr and do a micro step forward and then taunt to connect it. It's mostly a taunt setup for TJU though, because your opponent rolls out in the open without his back facing the wall. What I usually do is b2,1~f1+2 ender for taunt b4 oki and df21~b4 ender for TJU oki (these are arguably the best enders for guaranteed taunt & damage)

I use that string waaay too often hahaha thats probably how I got better with using it. It's my go to Snake eyes move right now and I really like the mindgames and mental frames it creates.

Then you can quickly press F21 and practice delaying the third and fourth hits in different combinations for example non delayed 2 into delayed 3/ delayed 2 into non delayed 3...

I'm using the Haute42 G16. Honestly I was just looking for the cheapest option and it turned out to be a really good buy. But it's relatively small compared to other leverless controllers. If you're looking for more Quality of Life upgrades, you might want to consider a slightly more expensive model from Haute, like the T16 orso

I have been playing Bryan for several years. against an experienced player, when you "taunt dash", followed by F3, the opponent will not tap. because it is known, déjà vu if you prefer. even if it is possible, it will require you to condition the opponent beforehand. Taunt F3 is simpler to make and safer, but harder to enter. with the wave dash, it's less known, you take more risks, but you make the opponent want to hit. you can do "whiff" and punish, or attack with the.wave dash followed by QCF 1+2 or other moves. sorry for my english, i'm french 😅

In my opinion, it becomes a lot easier if you bind your spacebar key to the "up" direction. This way, I can use my left middle and pointer fingers to press d, df, f (QCF) and then I press the space bar with my right thumb. It makes the technique very easy and not tiring at all for your fingers. However, always listen to your own body. if it feels weird or better in a different way, feel free to experiment with your own keybinds. Good luck man!

@@Bassium08 Yeah, I use my right hand a lot for movement on leverless. Mostly, I use my thumb for pressing up, sidestepping, sidewalking, or wavedashing. Otherwise I use my right pointer finger to take advantage of SOCD for KBD. My left hand is a bit sensitive to too many fast motions, so spreading the work equally between my hands helps a lot with reducing the strain.

I’m only able to do 2 consecutive snake dashes like that. It’s ridiculously hard to get it smoothly on stick. 2p side is a little easier but still the same difficulty. You have to cancel the side step fast so that it looks smooth. That’s what makes it hard. Your wrist is gonna hate you and you may develop carpal tunnel lol.

I'm not sure to be honest my man, because I can't test it myself. I could imagine it beeing very umconfortable for your Hands though, like ​ @NugKaLj says...

@@nouri7327 yeah unfortunately. That’s why when those hitboxes(lever less controllers) first came out they were considered cheating because some of the stuff you can do on them wasn’t humanly possible to do on stick or pad. As I mentioned earlier though, I’m only able to do this consecutively and smoothly on stick 2x maybe 3 if I’m lucky. Otherwise I get the sidestep input and he does the weave instead. I’m sure with more practice it can be done but it’s up to you if it’s worth the effort.
